    JOHNSON CITY - John E. Garrison, 75, of Johnson City, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019 at his home. He was born in Washington, D.C. to Ben Clyde Garrison Sr., and Ruth Buckner Garrison and later moved to Morganton, NC.

    In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his first wife, Janice Poteat Garrison, his nephew, Garrison Nidiffer, and his brother-in-law, Ed Ogburn.

    John graduated from the Kentucky Military Institute, attended the University of North Carolina and obtained his Masters of Business from East Tennessee State University. He pursued several ventures before opening the House of Ribs in Johnson City with his brother. John spent forty years as an Independent Representative for Caesars Entertainment and co-owner with his wife Rebecca, of "Players Travel Bettor". He was the longest tenured representative, known as "The Godfather" among his colleagues.

    Those left to cherish John's memory include his loving wife, Rebecca Moore Garrison, his daughter, Elizabeth Gray Garrison Moore, son, John Clyde Garrison, grandchildren: Noah G. Moore, and Jacob Benjamin Moore; his siblings: Nancy Ogburn, Ben Clyde Garrison, Jr., and his wife Janice, Laura Elizabeth Garrison; nieces and nephews: Zoe Ogburn, Stephanie Lawhon, Heather Lowe, and Wendy Garrison; several great nieces and nephews, mother-in-law, Georgia Moore, and too many special friends to mention.

    The family will greet friends to share memories on Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 11:00 am until a Celebration of John's life at 1:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services with Pastor James Nipper officiating. A Graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm on Thursday at Washington County Memory Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

    John married Janice Poteat about 1968. Janice was born on 8 May 1946 in Burke County, , , North Carolina; died on 4 Aug 2014 in Washintgon County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Washington County Memory Gardens, , Washington County, Tennessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    John Clyde Garrison, better known as "John-John" passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 16, 2019 at his home.

    He was the son of the late Johnny and Janice Garrison, born to them on March 24, 1970 in Johnson City, Tennessee.

    John-John's charisma will be greatly missed by his many dear friends, who knew him to be the life of the party. He attended Science Hill as well as East Tennessee State University. In addition to construction, he worked at the family business, House of Ribs in Johnson City, Tennessee, alongside his father and uncle, catering to disaster relief workers, as well as other emergency relief organizations.

    John-John is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Garrison Moore; His nephews: Noah and Jake Moore; He is also survived by several uncles, aunts, cousins and many dear friends who will cherish his memory.

    The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, December 28, 2019 after 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 2:00 P.M. Funeral services for John Clyde "John-John" Garrison will be conducted on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Our Savior Lutheran Church of Johnson City, with Reverend James Nipper officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington County Memory Gardens with family members and friends serving as pallbearers.
