    Gwendolyn M. "Gwen" Patton Sneed Moody, 86, of Johnson City, died at her residence on Wednesday, January 30, 2013.

    She was a native of Pound, Virginia, and daughter of the late Arch Patton (who died in 1927) and Gilmer (1992) and Myrtle (1997) Presley Sneed.

    Gwendolyn was a retired office manager and sales clerk who had worked in many local businesses in Johnson City, King's Department Store, Chem City Electronics, Bob Harrell's Electronics and Lenoir Empire Furniture. She was a member of the University Parkway Baptist Church.

    In addition to her parents, her husband, Bradford Carson Moody (2010), and her aunt, friend and mentor, Agnes Senter, had preceded her in death.

    Survivors include: her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Patricia Moody, of Johnson City; her daughter, Susan Moody Finley, of Johnson City; four grandchildren, Heather (Greg) Champney, Shannon Godsey, Katheryn Moody and Brittany (Chad) Reece; seven great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Aiden, Reahnee, Eliana, Harrison, Carson and Brooks; several nieces and nephews.

    The family would like to offer special thanks to her caregivers, Patsy McCurry, April Harris, Carolyn Harris and the Amedisys Hospice Staff.

    A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, February 1, 2013, at 8:00 pm in the South Chapel of the Morris-Baker Funeral Home, under the direction of Chaplain Dwayne Baird and Pastor Steve Pate.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at 8:00 p.m.

    A committal service will be conducted on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be: Mike Murray, Mike Woods, Marshall Mitchell, Walter Carr, Greg Champney and Chad Reece. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jim Pickel, Jim Starr, Gene Weems and Ben Pat Bailey. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home to leave in procession by 10:40 a.m.

    Gwendolyn married Bradford Carson Moody on 9 Jul 1946 in Washintgon County, , , Tennessee. Bradford (son of Charles Zolley Moody and Ressie Branham) was born on 2 Dec 1922 in Johnson City, , Washington County, Tennessee; died on 30 Dec 2010 in Washintgon County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Monte Vista Memorial Park, , Washington County, Tennessee.
