    ELIZABETHTON - Chris Northmore, age 82, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, March 3, 2017 from the Johnson City Medical Center. Chris was born in Carter County to the late Earl M. Lyons and Kate Huskins Lyons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth J. Northmore.

    Chris was a former employee of Belks and Watsons Department stores, had been a substitute school teacher within the Carter County School System and was a former beautician. She was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing and loved Elizabethton and being with her family.

    Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Mike Northmore and wife Susan, of Elizabethton; a granddaughter, Heather Minton, of Elizabethton; two sisters, Lillie Fergosi and husband Richard, of Elizabethton and Merle Lynch, of Birmingham, Alabama; her nieces and nephews, Joyce Lynch, Jeannie Lambert and husband Kerry, Becky Blackwell and husband Axe, and Earl Slagle and wife Linda; and several great nieces and nephews also survive.

    The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home and the staff of Johnson City Medical Center, 5500 Floor.

    A service to celebrate the life of Chris Northmore will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Monday, March 6, 2017 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Pat Kelly officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Monday; or at the residence of her son, Mike, at any time.

    The graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

    ELIZABETHTON - Mike Northmore, 56, of Elizabethton, TN entered into rest on June 29, 2022, in his home surrounded by his family following a brave battle with cancer. Mike was born and raised in Elizabethton, a town he loved and never left. He was a 1984 graduate of Elizabethton High School. Mike was of the Christian faith. He worked as a parts consultant in several local car dealerships for over 30 years. His passions included model trains, airplanes and guns. He was an avid sports fan and always cheered on his Cyclones, Vols and Titans. He loved to be outdoors camping, fishing or just hanging out at the lake. He was a master on the grill. Mike loved his feline companions dearly, especially Chessie, who stayed by his side until the very end.

    Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Ken and Christine Northmore of Elizabethton, TN. He is survived by his loving wife, Suzy Northmore of Elizabethton, TN, step-daughter, Heather Livingston and husband John, of Johnson City, TN, as well as many cousins, uncles and aunts who loved him dearly.
