Mrs. Ves-tene Stin-son, 90, John-son City, passed away on Mon-day, May 25, 2015, at John-son City Med-i-cal Center.
A na-tive of Wash-ing-ton County, she was the daugh-ter of the late Al-bert and Sarah Crowe White-head. Mrs. Stin-son was a mem-ber of Berea Free-will Bap-tist Church, John-son City, and at-tended Mil-li-gan Free-will Bap-tist Church, John-son City.
She was a lov-ing wife, moma, ma-maw, sis-ter, aunt and friend. A won-der-ful cook, gar-dener and seam-stress, she al-ways found the good in ev-ery-one and ev-ery-thing.
In ad-di-tion to her par-ents, Mrs. Stin-son is pre-ceded in death by her hus-band, Samuel Stin-son; a son, Sammy Stin-son; a daugh-ter, Kim Stin-son; two broth-ers, Art-hor and Ed; and one sis-ter, Irene.
Those left to cher-ish her mem-ory in-clude her son and daugh-ter-in-law, Benny and Sheila Stin-son and her daugh-ter and son-in-law, Su-san and Jeff Tay-lor; two sis-ters, Mit-tie Huf-f-ine and Mary Ruth McKee; and her grand-chil-dren, Anita, De-wayne, Glynn, Lisa, Shei-lan, Rob-bie, Kevin, Travis, Nerissa, Meghan, Seth, Ash-ley, Derek, Mar-lie, Shel-bie, So-phie, Rhi-ley and Sami.
A Cel-e-bra-tion of Life Ser-vice will be held at 8:00 PM on Thurs-day, May 28, 2015, at Tet-rick Funeral & Cre-ma-tion Ser-vices, John-son City, with Pas-tor Mark Street and Pas-tor Jerry Stout of-fi-ci-at-ing. Mu-sic will be pro-vided by Beth-any Mar-tin.
The fam-ily will re-ceive friends to share mem-o-ries at the fu-neral home from 6:00 PM un-til the ser-vice at 8:00 PM.
A Grave-side Ser-vice will be held 10:30 AM on Fri-day, May 29, 2015, at Bar-nett Ceme-tery. At-tend-ees are asked to meet at the cem-e-tery at 10:20 AM. Pall-bear-ers will be grand-sons.

Larry Grant Whitehead, 70, Gray, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at his residence. A native of Johnson City, he was a son of the late Arthur Jackson Whitehead and Betty Mathis Whitehead Jeans.

Mr. Whitehead was preceded in death by his loving wife of 34 years Donna Austin Whitehead. Larry graduated from Science Hill High School class of '65 and proudly served in the National Guard. He also worked at Eastman Chemical Company for 27 years until his retirement. From there he acquired his license to be a general contractor where he designed and built houses throughout the Tri– Cities such as Lake Ridge, Preston Park, and Rivermont subdivisions. Everyone knew him by his blue MGB that he drove.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Tatia Dovie Whitehead; son, Eric Grant Whitehead; and a granddaughter; Britni Lynn Whitehead, four sisters, Sharon Smith, Sheila Goins, Becky Doggott, and Nancy Hall, three brothers; Artie, Gary, and Steve Whitehead.

A graveside service for Mr. Whitehead will be held at East Tennessee Cemetery at 2:00 PM on Sunday September 11, 2016 with Pastor Clinton Andrews officiating. Friends and family are serving as pallbearers. Attendees are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 PM.

Nancy Whitehead Hall passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at Holston Valley Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born and raised in Johnson City, TN, she was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a homemaker, an amazing cook and cake decorator. She could brighten up anyone's day with her cheerful smile and uplifting personality.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father and mother Arthur and Betty Whitehead and two brothers, Larry Whitehead, Artie Whitehead. She is survived by daughters Nikki Shell, and Melanie Baker and husband Mason; Grandchildren, Samantha Hammett, Ricky and Zachary Shell and Aria Baker; Sister’s, Sharon Smith, Sheila Goins and husband John, and Becky Doggett and husband Denny; brother’s, Steve Whitehead and wife Fran, and Gary Whitehead; along with many nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend and father of her children, Scott McInturff.

JOHNSON CITY - Arthur "Artie" Jackson Whitehead, Jr. of Johnson City, TN passed away on Saturday, July 13 at home.

He was born on October 20, 1953 to late Arthur Whitehead Sr. and the late Betty Mathis Whitehead in Johnson City Tennessee.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his older brother, Larry Whitehead; and his grandson, Max Spears.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Whitehead of Jonesborough, TN; his daughter, Jennifer Whitehead Spears and Roger Spears and two grandchildren, Brittnee Nave and Roger Spears Jr. of Johnson City, TN; four sisters, Sharon Smith of Johnson City, Sheila and John Goins of Huntsville, AL, Becky and Denny Doggett of Mount Pleasant, NC and Nancy and Al Hall of Johnson City, TN; and two brothers, Steve and Fran Whitehead of Johnson City, TN and Gary and Cora Whitehead of Erwin, TN; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Artie was employed at several places in his lifetime. First at Interstate Foundry, before going on to work at Allied Piping briefly, and then for City of Johnson City for over 20 years reading water meters.

In his free time Artie enjoyed going to festivals with his wife and loved his cats and dogs as his other children. Anyone who met him was instantly drawn to his happy and sweet personality.

A Celebration of Life to honor Artie is planned for September.
