    DEATHS
    George W. Tester, 65, died at 11 a.m. Sunday at his home near Boone's Creek, after a lingering illness.
    He is survived by four sons, Raymond Tester, Piney Flats; George Tester, Bristol, Va., and Archie and James Tester, both of Boone's Creek; four daughters, Mrs. E. B. Norris, Boone's Creek, Mrs. E. T. Millard, McDonald, Mrs. C . C. Carroll, Piney Flats and Mrs. Oscar Tester, Butler; two brothers, Stanley Tester, Kingsport, and Smith Tester, Neva; four sisters, Mrs. Virgie Tester and Mrs. W. H. Smith, both of Neva; Mrs. McKinley McElyea, Shouns and Miss Bell Tester, Mountain City.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Edgefield Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Graham officiating. Burial followed in the Church cemetery.

    Robert Stanley Tester, age 72 of Mountain City, Route 1, died unexpectedly of a heart attack Wednesday at 7:00 a.m. He was a native of Johnson County, the son of the late Andrew and Sarah Forrester Tester. He was a retired farmer and member of the Christian Church.
    Survivors include two sons, Robert B. Tester, Kingsport and Roy Tester, Johnson City; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Collins and Mrs. Mary Dean, both of Pennington Gap, Va., and Mrs. Ruby Miller of Kingsport; one sister, Mrs. Virgie Tester Neva; and 14 grandchildren.
    Funeral services were conducted Friday from the Lewis Gentry Funeral Home chapel at 2 p.m. with Fred Kelly officiating.
    Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers were neighbors and friends; flower bearers were also friends and neighbors.

    We are saddened to announce the passing of Virginia “Nin” Brown, age 99 of Crackers Neck. Nin passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 in Mountain City Care Center. She was born June 8, 1922 to the late Will Smith and Pearl Tester Smith. She was a member of Pleasant View Christian Church. She loved gardening, bird watching, baby sitting and reading her Bible. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Melvin Ray Brown, a daughter: Virginia Ann and two sons: Timothy and Paul and several brothers and sisters.

    Those left to cherish her memory include her children; Ray Brown of Oxford, PA, Jerry Brown and Steve Brown of Mountain City and Wayne Brown of Bristol. Many nieces and nephews and great great grandchildren and great great great grandchildren.

    Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 2 pm at the Nave Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30-2pm prior to the service. Pastor Keith Brown officiating.

    JONESBOROUGH - Dorothy Virginia Tester Wilson, 93, Jonesborough passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born April 24, 1928 in Mountain City to the late Smith & Ollie Fritts Tester. She had lived a number of years in Elizabethton before moving to Jonesborough in 2009 . She was retired from First Presbyterian Church, Johnson City as a Custodian. In earlier years she was a member of Valley Forge Christian Church, after moving to Jonesborough she become a member of West Hills Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister: Lucy Oliver and a brother: Paul Tester.
    Survivors include her sister: Mary W. White. One Niece: Vickie Cloyd, One Nephew: Elijah Cloyd. Two Great Nieces Annie Cloyd and Breanna Cloyd. A special friend: Janet Karneck.
    Graveside Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021 in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Daniel Shorder officiating. Active pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Thursday will be: Ray Oliver, Gene Hurt, Allen Hurt, Kenny Dickenson, Annie Cloyd and Elijah Cloud.
