    Mrs. Stella Mae Church, 75, 1210 Valley Street, Elizabethton, died Thursday, May 27, 1999, at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital after an extended illness.
    Mrs. Church was a native of Beech Mountain, N.C., and a daughter of the late Linzy "Pop" and Sarah Hartley Trivett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Erwin L. Church, February 17, 1997, four brothers, Vance, Ray, Lem and Willie Trivett, and two sisters, Hazel and Fannie Trivett
    Mrs. Church had lived a number of years in Elizabethton. She was a member of Beech Mountain Baptist Church.
    Survivors include a daughter, Vanessa Johnson, Clearmont, Fla.; four sons, Bob R. Church, Nashville, Vance Church, Gary Church and Lester Church, all of Elizabethton; and a sister, Mrs. Edna Harmon, Elizabethton. Ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
    Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

    CHURCH -- Funeral services for Mrs. Stella Mae Church, 75, 1210 Valley Street, Elizabethton, who died Thursday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Russell Potter officiating. Music will be provided by Lowell and Linda Trivett and Lester Church. Graveside services and interment will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Beech Mountain Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 12:45 p.m. Sunday, will be Mat Church, Steven Church, Keith Church, Lowell Trivett, Vance Trivett Jr., Kevin Estep, Jerry Harmon and Aaron Potter. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12:45 p.m. Sunday to go to the cemetery. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

    Stella married Erwin Lewis Church about 1940 in , Avery County, North Carolina, . Erwin (son of Sidney Rosco Church and Emma Elizabeth McGuire) was born on 13 Jul 1918 in , Avery County, North Carolina, ; died on 17 Feb 1997 in , Avery County, North Carolina, ; was buried in Beech Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery, , Avery County, North Carolina.     Bob passed away peacefully on Friday, November 22, 2019 at his home in Franklin, TN.

    He leaves behind a legacy of love for his family, devotion to his country and its armed services, and commitment to his savior, Jesus Christ.

    He is lovingly remembered as a husband, brother, father and grandfather. As a 20 year veteran of the U.S. Army, Bob rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and received the distinguished Legion of Merit, among other recognitions. An active member of Brentwood Baptist Church, he was a member of the Encouragers Life Group and the Condolence Committee. For those that knew him well, he will be fondly remembered for striking up long conversations with potential friends, also known as strangers, and for a willingness to run errands for loved ones at anytime of the day or night.

    He has been joyously reunited in Heaven with his parents, Erwin and Mae Church; bother, Lester; sister, Vanessa.

    He is survived by his wife, Retha Church; children, Tommy Church, Janan Church and Bobby Church; step-children, Jonah Hickson, Charis Hickson, Drew Fletcher (Lynsi) and Katie Belvin (Michael); five delightful grandchildren that loved their Poppy, Willamina Church, Henry and Ezra Fletcher, Charlotte and Evelyn Belvin; brothers, Vance Church and Gary Church (Jo Anne); many nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Visitation will be on Saturday, November 30, 2019 from 12-1 p.m. at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will on Saturday, at 1 p.m. at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
