    Notes:

    Mr. John Frank Parlier, age 87, of Elizabethton, TN, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013 in the Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport.

    A native of Heaton, NC, he had resided in Carter County since 1938 and was the son of the late Clay H. and Elsie Smith Parlier. Mr. Parlier retired as a machine operator with T.P.I. He was an active member of Borderview Christian Church. Mr. Parlier was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor G. Reynolds Parlier; and a sister, Effie Mae Pierce. Survivors include several nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Funeral service for Mr. John Frank Parlier will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 12, 2013, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services with Mr. Kirk Langston, minister, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Scott Reynolds.

    The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 P.M. on Saturday prior to the funeral service.

    Interment will follow the funeral service in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be R.C. Bennett, Ken Taylor, Terry Barnett, Lawrence Ritchie, Pen Hampton and Charles Hilton. Honorary pallbearers will be members of his Sunday School Class at Borderview Christian Church.
