MILLARD F. MICHAELS…
… 72, Mountain City, Rte. 2, died Saturday morning, Oct. 4, following a heart attack.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sylvia Michaels; two sons, Fred of Mountain City and Cad of Ferndale, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Emmett Parsons of Mountain City; three brothers, John and Robert of Trade, Dewey of Elizabethton; three sisters, Mrs. Eula Bryant of Shouns, Mrs. Lillie Trivette of West Jefferson, N. C.; and Mrs. Alma Mundy of Hickory, N.C.; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the New Hope Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Blaine Eggers, H. T. Mabry and Gerald Carlton officiating.
Burial was in Donnelly Cemetery.

JIMMIE PARSONS
Jimmie Parsons, 12 years old, of Route 2, Mountain City, died in a Johnson City hospital Friday at 2:35 p.m. after a two weeks illness. He was a member of the Earls Chapel Church.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emmitt Parsons; seven sisters, Mrs. Robert I. Lindsey and Mrs. Richard S. Lindsey, both of Mountain City, Mrs. James Cosella of Downingtown, Pa., Mrs. Helen Perkins of Landenberg, Pa., and Betty Jean, June, and Joanne Parsons, all of the home; four brothers, Howard of Longview, Washington, and Russell, Ted and Jackie, all of the home; the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Millard Michaels of Mountain City; and the paternal grandfather, Baxter Parsons of Mountain City.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Earls Chapel Church with the Rev. Ernest Rash and the Rev. A. E. Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Donnelly Cemetery.
The body was moved to the home Saturday at 4:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Tetrick Funeral Home.

JIMMY PARSONS
Jimmy Parsons, 12-years-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Emmit Parsons of Mountain City, Rte. 2, died at 2:30 p.m., last Friday in a Johnson City hospital, after an illness of two weeks.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are four brothers, Howard of Longview, Wash., and Russell, Ted, and Jackie Parsons, all of the home; and eight sisters, Mrs. Robert L. Lindsey and Mrs. Richard Lindsey of Mountain City, Mrs. James Cassela of Dowington, Pa., Mrs. Helen Perkins of Landenberg, Pa., and Betty Jane, June, and Joanne, all of the home.
Also surviving are the paternal grandfather, Baxter Parsons, and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Emmit Michaels, all of Mountain City.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Earl's Chapel Church, of which Jimmie was a member, and interment followed in the Donnelly Cemetery. Rev. Ernest Rash and Rev. A. E. Brown officiated.

Michael Wayne Reece, age 47, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born in Banner Elk, North Carolina on May 28, 1971 to Terry Reece and Sue Michael Reece Adkins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Fred and Georgie Michael and paternal grandparents, Charles and Suma Reece.

Michael loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed animals, flowers and gardening. He also enjoyed woodworking. Michael enjoyed sports but especially liked football.He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church and loved his Lord and Savior dearly. He was a loving, caring person with a big heart and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish his memories include his mother, Sue Reece Adkins, father, Terry Reece, brother, Craig Reece, special nephew, Caleb Reece, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Morefield officiating. Special music will be provided by Linda Trivette. Graveside service and interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Bobby Michael, Donnie Warren, Brian Sargent, Bryan Lay, Blair Robbins and Jamie Blevins. Honorary pallbearers are Max Blevins and Nick McFadden.
