    Notes:

    Perry Hopson, 59, of the Roaring Creek Community, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at his home.

    He was a son of Delpha Hughes Hopson of Roaring Creek and the late Rothrock Hopson. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Paulette Hughes. He loved restoring old cars, carp fishing, but mostly he loved his family.

    Surviving in addition to his mother are his loving wife of 35 years, Teresa Webb Hopson; daughter, Angel Dugger and husband, Andrew, of Licklog; sons, Chad Hopson and wife, Kristen, of Roaring Creek, and John Hopson and wife, Julie, of Roaring Creek; three grandchildren, Austin and Aaron Dugger and Savannah Hopson; sisters, Brickie Pittman and husband, Joe, of Spruce Pine and Nadine Helton and husband, Jerry, of Roaring Creek. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in The People's Church on Roaring Creek. The Rev. Daniel Nance, the Rev. Chris Nance and the Rev. Jody Almond officiated. Burial followed in the Hopson Family Cemetery. The family received friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

    Pallbearers were Derick Hughes, Gabriel Wise, Joel Buchanan, Hansel Allen, Johnathan Hughes, Ray Howell and Shelton Brooks. Honorary Pallbearers were Aaron and Austin Dugger.
