    Notes:

    ELIZABETHTON — William Roy Arney, 84, Elizabethton, passed away Monday November 1, 2010, in the Ivy Hall Nursing Home.

    A native of Johnson County, he was a son of the late James David and Alice Dugger Arney. He had lived most of his life in Carter County. Roy was a graduate of Happy Valley High School. He had worked for several years at North American Rayon Corporation and retired from The Raytheon Corporation, Bristol.

    He served in the Army Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Blevins Arney; four brothers: Haskell, Duke, John David and Earl Arney; and two sisters: Marie Potter and Norma Hart.

    Survivors include a son & daughter-in-law: David & Jennifer Arney, Elizabethton; and several nieces & nephews.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Randy Johnson officiating.

    Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 4, 2010, in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Loren Harris. A Patriotic Tribute will be played by Mr. Arney's son, David Arney, following the funeral service.

    Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, will be: Kenneth Arney, John Arney, Haskell "Buddy" Arney, Richard Knode, Clyde Williams and Carl Roberson. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion and Tennessee National Guard.

    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of his son & daughter-in-law: David & Jennifer Arney, 729 Fairway Drive, Elizabethton. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery.

    ELIZABETHTON - Kristi Lea Stout Champion, 49, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was born June 5, 1973 in Elizabethton. Kristie was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and East Tennessee State University. She had a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology. She was a member of Big Spring Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her Maternal Grandparents: Duke & Margaret Little Arney and her Paternal Grandparents: James M. & Maxine Campbell Stout, also an aunt, Sherry Simerly a cousin Kevin Arney and a uncle Sam Humphrey.

    Survivors include her husband: Randy Champion, Her Parents: Dennis & Nancy Arney Stout. Her Aunts & Uncles Betsy “Bate” Humphrey, Ken (Linda) Arney, Marie (Dale) Johnson, Kay Stout, Debbie Stout, David Stout and Vickie Tipton. Also her many dogs.
