    Isaac J. Estep died at his home Monday A.M. 3:40 after a short illness. member of Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors, wife, Mrs. Rebecca Estep, two daughters, Mrs. Nancy Crow, Mrs. Maymie Fortner; five sons, John, William, Andy, Campbell, Samuel; two brothers, Joe, Bruce; two sisters, Mrs. Katie Nave, all of Elizabethton, Mrs. D. C. Nidiffer of Va.; 34 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from the church at Horse Shoe Dam Wednesday at 2 P. M. with the Rev. Will Wright officiating.     Daisy D. Estep, 83, 104 Laurel Street, Hampton, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, January 2, 2010, at her residence. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late William T. and Fannie Parker Estep. Mrs. Estep attended the Old Horseshoe School at Wilbur Lake and was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation after 44 years of service. She attended the Old Horseshoe Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Billy Jack, Earl, Nat, Alfred and Ray Estep.


    Survivors include her daughters, Maxine Lewis and husband Steve, Dimple Church, Tammy Bowers, Rachel Birchfield, Brenda Harvey and Sue Birchfield; a son, Billy Brock; an adopted daughter, Linda Mink; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, David "Cooley" Estep and wife June; a sister-in-law, Georgia Estep; her special friends, Markie Peters and Doris Bullock; and several nieces and nephews.


    Funeral services for Mrs. Estep will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Carl Grindstaff officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, in the Old Horseshoe Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be David Harvey, Paul Harvey, Steve Lewis and Todd Berry. The family would like to express a special "thank you" to Amedisys Hospice for all the care given to our mother.

    David “Coolie” Estep, 91, Elizabethton, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born April 14, 1930, in Carter County, to the late William & Fannie Parker Estep. He was an electrician and was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, gardening and being with his church family. He was a member of Hampton First Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Ollie June Campbell Estep and a son: David Estep, Jr.
    Survivors include his daughters: Margaret Luttrell, Judy Estep and Sandra Perkins. Four Grandchildren: Jennifer (Chris) Carter, Norman Markland, Jr & wife Linda, Lisa Norris and Brandy Holder. Five Great Grandchildren: Cassie Graybeal, Russell Carter, Brianna Markland, Seth Carter and Malachi Higgenbotham. His Special Friends: Glen Nave and Jimmy Hopson. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
    Graveside Service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2022, in Highland Cemetery with his Grandson Rev. Norman Markland, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow the service. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be his church family.

    A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Samuel Mitchel and Nanny Carden Estep.
    Mr. Estep served in the United States Army during World War II, serving in the European and South Pacific Theatres. He was retired as a Dental Technician at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. He was an active member of Roan Street Church of God where he served as clerk for over 50 years.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Eunice Isaacs Estep; one sister, Novella Treadway; and three brothers, Roy, SM and Floyd Estep.
    Survivors include his children, Edward Dean (Sherry) Estep, Kingsport, Sue Tinker, Elizabethton, and Kathy (Ernest) Ensor, Elizabethton; five grandchildren, Beth Estep (Jason) Lane, Mark Estep, Jamie Tinker (Brad) Carpenter, Renee Ensor and Jason (Lindsey) Ensor; and two great-grandchildren, David and Jacob Carpenter.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 19, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Kenneth Bewley and Pastor Brien Sturgill officiating. Music will be provided by Gene Estep, Carol Roberts and Daren Shepard. The graveside service and interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, October 11, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:50 a.m. Friday, will be Brad Carpenter, Jacob Carpenter, Jason Ensor, Steve Pierce, Brandon Kent, Kevin Stout, Daren Shepard, Benny Whittemore and Eric Shepard.

    A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Samuel Mitchell Estep Sr. and Nannie Carden Estep. He was employed as a Draftsman at Magnavox for several years and retired as a Draftsman from Snap-On-Tool, Elizabethton. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. S.M. was an active member of the First Christian Church of Elizabethton.

    His hobbies were gardening, woodworking and trains.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nora Humphrey Estep, April 2, 2003; by a sister: Novella Treadway; and three brothers: Infant Howard Dean Estep, Roy Estep and Floyd Estep.

    Survivors include a son & daughter-in-law: Gene & Carolyn Estep, Elizabethton; A grandson: Craig Matthew Estep and his wife, Sylvia, Elizabethton; A Granddaughter: Cara Leanne Estep; Two Great Grandchildren: Sophia Brynn Estep and Camden Mitchell Estep; One Brother & Sister-In-Law: Carl & Eunice Estep, Elizabethton. His brothers and sisters-in-law: J.L. & Edna Collins, Mary & Ted Bryant, Ruth Baker, Martha & Bob Dorsey and Kenneth & Linda Humphrey; A special extended family member, Ruth Reynolds Poore.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Brent Nidiffer and Dr. Don Marshall officiating.

    Graveside Service and Interment will be at 10 a.m. Friday, December 17, 2010, in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Mr. Joel Crisp, Soloist, and Mr. Scott Reynolds, Organist. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday, will be: Steve Pierce, Brad Carpenter, Ed Rigney, Leonard February, Tim Broyles, Larry Collins and Steve Dunlap.     A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Samuel Mitchell Estep, Sr and Nannie Carden Estep. Floyd was a 1955 graduate of Elizabethton High School. He was a retired Design Engineer with Inland Container. He was a member of the Carter County Hunting and Fishing Club. He was a member of the Roan Street Church of God but attended Blue Springs Christian Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years Frances Stout Estep, a sister Novella Treadway and a brother, Roy Estep.

    Survivors include Two Daughters & Sons-In-Law: Teresa & Michael Edwards, Lexington, South Carolina and Tammy & Steve Pierce, Elizabethton. Four Grandchildren: Christopher Edwards & Wife Kelly, Lexington, SC., Melanie Harmon and husband Rev. John Harmon, Lexington, SC, Daniel Burchett, Knoxville, and Stephanie Pierce, Elizabethton. A Great Granddaughter: Caroline Grace Edwards, Lexington, SC, a Great Grandson Michael Norris Harmon, Lexington, SC. Two Brothers: Carl Estep and S.M. Estep, Jr. both of Elizabethton. Several Nieces & Nephews and his very special dog, Zorro.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Richard Thomason officiating.

    Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. John Harmon officiating. Music will be provided by Gene Estep, Organist. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday will be: Joe Oliver, Richard Caldwell, Rick Melton, Rusty Melton, Glen Estep, Bill Mosley, Bill Hamilton and Norman Edwards.     ELIZABETHTON - Earnest "Ernie" Fortner, 80, Siam Community of Elizabethton passed away Monday, June 3, 2019 in the Four Oaks Health Care Center of Jonesborough.

    He was a son of the late Rhudy and Mamie Estep Fortner. Mr. Fortner was a farmer and a member of the Horseshoe Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, western movies and all of his friends from John Reed Nursing Home and Four Oaks Health Care Center. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Glenda Hall and Irene Shirley; five brothers, David Fortner, Larry Fortner, Jimmy Fortner, Lloyd Fortner and James W. Fortner.

    Survivors include a sister, Fannie Mae Fortner Henshaw Gosnell of Jonesborough; a brother, Bruce Fortner of Lincoln, Nebraska; two special sisters-in-law, Trula B. Fortner, Elizabethton and Alazine Fortner, Scherltz, Texas; also several nieces and nephews.

    Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Wednesday, June 5, 2019 in the Horseshoe Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, Wilbur Dam Road, Elizabethton with Rev. Gene Deaton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 PM. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

Glenda was a native of the Siam Community in Elizabethton. She was a daughter of the late Rhudy A. and Mamie Estep Fortner. She was a lifelong member of Horseshoe Free Will Baptist Church. Glenda was loved by all who met her. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend to so many, proving you don't have to be blood to be family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Hall; son, James Paul DeVault; sister, Irene Shurling; and brothers, David, Larry, Worley, Lloyd, and Jimmy Fortner. Survivors include: five children, Linda Gail Carrera, Teresa Rhea Davis (Steven), Justin Eugene DeVault, Kathy Lee (Don), Joy Thacker, and JD Loveland; 11 grandchildren, Amanda Marie Carrera, Matthew Eugene Carrera, Dakoda Carrera, Michael Bales (Katie), Kristen N. Bales, Amber Ruth DeVault, James Patrick, James Connor DeVault, Brandon Britt, Jacqueline Quillen (Nick), and Russ Thacker; 14 great grandchildren, Mamie Marie, Jacoby Kyle, Jonathon Thomas, Mary Katherine, Nakoda Nevaeh, Waylon James, Logan, Evan, Kayla, Katie, Natalie, Vivian, Maggie, and Lisa; two brothers, Bruce and Earnest Fortner; one sister, Fannie Mae Gosnell; special sister-in-law, Trula Bell Fortner; cherished lifelong friend, Charlene Elliott; and several nieces and nephews.     A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late William Earl & Bonnie Hodge Estep. Linda was a 1959 graduate of Unaka High School and attended Milligan College. She was retired from the First Tennessee Human Resource Agency. She was a member of the Hunter United Methodist Church.

    Survivors include her children: Robin Ayers & friend, Kenny Pack, Greeneville, Beth Hughes & husband Mike, Limestone and William "Bill" Ayers and wife Penny, Elizabethton; three grandchildren, Gary Joe Malone and wife Krystal, Cody Ayers and wife Emily and Austin Ayers; two great grandchildren, Kane Malone and Jaxon Ayers; brother, Larry J. Estep, Blountville; one niece; several cousins & friends; a special friend, Robert Johnson.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Estel Williams officiating.

    Graveside Service and Interment will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday in the Grindstaff-Combs Cemetery.     ELIZABETHTON – Margaret Ann Carden Campbell, age 75, of Elizabethton, TN went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born to the late Lloyd and Estalee Carden on September 22, 1946. Margaret was the eldest of four children. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Margaret treated every child that came into her life as one of her own. She loved having a house full of kids. Margaret always said when the kids were there, she knew they were safe.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lloyd Carden, Jr. and daughter, Carrie Ann Campbell. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 54 years, Charles Campbell, of the home; four children, David Campbell and wife Angel, Daniel Campbell, Kelly Roberts and husband Anthony and Douglas Campbell; four grandchildren, Cale Ensor, Clayton Campbell, Jackson Campbell and Jonah Roberts; sister, Mary Pierce and husband Ronnie; brother, Kenneth Carden and wife Patti; four nieces, Jodi Tower and husband Clinton, Ashley Rader and husband Brian, Amiee Slemp and husband Jason and Nancy Carden; nephew, Craig Pierce and wife Marina; three great-nephews, Patrick Tower, Matthew Tower and Joseph Pierce.
    The family of Margaret Ann Carden Campbell will receive friends between the hours of 5:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. on Monday, October 25, 2021 at Riverview Baptist Church, 1419 Broad St, Elizabethton, TN 37643. The family requests those who will be attending please dress casually.
