    F. C. GENTRY
    F. C. Gentry, age 88, retired farmer, died at his home Johnson City, RFD 5, early Saturday night after several months' illness.
    Funeral services were conducted from the Dewey Christian church in Doe Valley this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Interment will be in the Wilson cemetery, Johnson county.
    Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Bertha Gentry; five sons, Elbert, Mountain City, Clayton, Isham and Curtis Gentry, of Johnson City, and Webster of Peoria, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Victoria Harper, and Mrs. Charles Morefield, both of Mountain City; two stepsons, Jessie Gentry, Johnson City, and James Gentry, of Elizabethton.
    Pallbearers and flower-bearers will be selected from friends attending the funeral.
    The body was removed from North Funeral Home to the family residence Sunday afternoon.

    NOAH GENTRY
    Funeral services for Noah Gentry, 42, who died Monday at 4 p.m. at a local hospital following an intestinal operation Thursday night, were to have been held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Free Will Baptist Church, the Rev. James Fair and the Rev. R. N. Own, officiating. Interment was to be in the Highland Cemetery.
    Pallbearers were J. Hampton Hyder, John Bowers, Walter Love, E. E. Hyder, Jake Brumit, and Walter Edens.
    Survivors are the widow; four[sic] daughters, Bessie, Cora, Ella, Lucille and Ruby Gentry; two sons, Ernest and Frank Gentry; father, F. C. Gentry of Butler, and four brothers, Elbert, Isen, Webster, and Clayton Gentry, all of Butler.
    Mr. Gentry had made his home here for several years having come from Johnson County and for some time managed the County Home.

    Frances O. Mclaughlin Foster, age 92, of Oxford, PA , formerly of Kennett Square, PA, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2011 at the Ware Presbyterian Village in Oxford, PA. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Foster, who passed away in 2008 and with whom she shared 34 years of marriage. Her first husband of 34 years, Wallace "Sax" McLaughlin, Sr., passed away in 1972.

    Born in Mountain City, TN, she was the daughter of the late Elbert and Mary Harper Gentry.

    Frances was a Certified Nurses Aide at Pocopson Home, West Chester, PA , for 30 years, retiring in 1972.

    She was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Kennett Square, PA, St. Patrick's Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion, Cecil Post 15, Ladies Auxiliary, Elkton, MD, the Ware Presbyterian Auxiliary and the Kennett Area senior Center.

    Frances enjoyed travelling, games, including Bingo, collecting antiques and she was a collector of Elvis Presley memorabilia.

    She is survived by one son, Thomas E. McLaughlin and his wife Joan of Ocean City, MD, a daughter-in-law, Bernadette Sharayko of Collingsville, PA, seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nephews and countless friends.

    Frances was predeceased by three sons, Wallace P. McLaughlin, Jr., Dennis P. McLaughlin and Robert M. McLaughlin; two brothers, Earl Gentry and Eugene Gentry; two sisters, Hazel McKinney and Elsie McKinney.

    Newport News, Va., September 12- XXXX XXXXXXXX, 22, of Hornsbyville, York County, has been released on $2500 bond pending preliminary hearing on manslaughter charges in connection with the fatal shooting of Miss Ruby Gentry last night, according to York County Sheriff A.S. White. Preliminary hearing will be Wednesday in the county trial justice court at Yorktown.
    The girl, a resident of Elizabethtown (sp), Tenn., died last night in a Newport News hospital of a rifle bullet wound.
    White said investigation disclosed that XXXXXXXX was awakened by the barking of his dog last night and went out in the yard with his rifle. He fired one shot in the air and another into the shrubbery, the second bullet striking the Gentry girl.
    Miss Gentry and Miss Odien Norris, a sister of Mrs. XXXXXXXX had been visiting the XXXXXXXXX and had left Saturday, presumably to return to their homes in Tennessee, White said. Instead they remained at Newport News, White said, and returned to the XXXXXXXXX home. They remained outside the house waiting for XXXXXXXX to go to sleep before they entered, the sheriff reported.
    The other girl is being held as a material witness.

    MOUNTAIN CITY — Dallas Jasper Morefield, age 84, of 740 Sprucy Lane, Mountain City, TN, passed away Friday, November 5, 2010, at the Veterans Administration, Mountain Home, Tennessee.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie N. and Relda Gentry Morefield. He was a native of Johnson County, where he served in the US Army during World War II and Korea. He was a carpenter and a retired farmer for many years.

    Dallas enjoyed cooking, hunting, fishing and playing bingo. He was a member of Dewey Christian Church.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Morefield; and two sisters, Ruby Danner and Virgie Forrester; three brothers, Oscar, Carson and Emmett Morefield; and sister-in-law, Wanda Morefield.

    Survivors include: one daughter; Betty Morefield, two sons; Lester Morefield and Jack Morefield, all of Mountain City, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Virginia Morefield, of Mountain City, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

    Guy D. Gentry, age 79, 718 University Parkway, died Saturday, February 24, 2007, at the Johnson City Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

    He was a native of Johnson Co. and a son of the late Clayton and Rader Gentry.

    Mr. Gentry retired from Baxter after thirty years of service. He was a member of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Charles, Ray and Floyd Gentry; and a sister, Eureka Gentry.

    Survivors include his wife, Imogene Wilson Gentry, of the home; one son, Guy Gentry Jr., of Gray; three daughters, Carolyn S. Light, of Gray, Linda K.     Burnice Clyde Gentry, age 73, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday night, November 19, 2017 at his residence, with his family by his side. He was born on February 11, 1944 in Johnson County to Dorothy Absher Gentry and the late Calvin Eugene Gentry. In addition to his father, Burnice was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Ruth Wilson Gentry; sons: Steven Clyde Gentry, Richard Eugene Gentry and Jon David Gentry and a brother, Paul Gentry.

    Burnice worked at the JCHS for 21 years as Head Custodian. He had also worked at the Mountain City Police Department and Johnson County Sheriff's Department.

    He loved fishing, wrestling, race cars and football. Burnice was a 'jokester' and was always laughing and cutting up. We will miss his sense of humor and his laughter.

    He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

    A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Robert Cecil & Cora Ellen Gentry Ensor. He was a 1957 graduate of Unaka High School. He was also a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theology Seminary with a degree in Music & Religion Education.

    He was retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. HE served in the Vietnam Era. Robert was a member of the Lynn Valley Baptist Church. He loved writing poetry and sharing his gift with others. He also loved music and working with children.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and Raymond Ensor; mother and father-in-law, Van & Jewell Edwards; and a sister-in-law, Elaine.

    Survivors include his wife, Joyce Frank Ensor; three brothers, Howard Ensor and wife Jewel, C. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers: Stanley, Raymond, Robert & C. Lee Ensor and two nephews: Randy & Ricky Ensor.

    Survivors include her husband: Tom Oxendine, Two Sisters: Lynda Vaughn & husband Tom and Ruby Corder all of Elizabethton.     Lloyd was a faithful Dad, Papaw and Great Papaw Parker. He was his family's biggest fan, always there at sporting events cheering them on. He had a special love for all of his family and was always telling people he was where he loved to be - with all of his family.

    Lloyd worked various jobs throughout his lifetime including the old Burlington plant. When he wasn't working his 'regular' job, Lloyd enjoyed working on lawn mowers.

    He had a special companion whom he loved very much, Lucky the cat, who was always by his side until his death last year.
    He was a member of Roan Creek Baptist Church.

Graveside service and interment will follow at the Wilson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Parker, Troy Parker, Carroll Parker, Terry Parker, Brian Shupe and Kenneth Wood. Honorary pallbearers are Dwayne Wood, David Shupe, Roy Hodge, David Bunting and David Manuel.

    Dallas Glenn Parker, age 78, of 496 Taft Eggers Lane, passed away, Friday, April 19, 2019, at his residence following an extended illness. Dallas was born December 1, 1940, in Elizabethton, Tennessee to the late Loyd Parker and Vergie Morefield Parker. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Loyd Parker, Jr., bother-in-law Alfred Wood and sister-in-law Charlotte Parker.

    Dallas was a member of the Mountain City Church of Christ, a US Army Veteran. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching his grandchildren play sports. Dallas was a retired electrician and member of IBEW #934.

    Those left to cherish Dallas' memory are his wife of 53 year, Phyllis Eggers Parker; sons, Carroll Parker and wife, Sherry and Terry Parker and wife Kelly all of Mountain City; sisters Shirley Wood, Barbara Sexton, and Mary Shupe and husband Benny, all of Mountain City; brother Charles Parker of Mountain City; grandchildren Valerie Parker, Tyler Parker, Nora Parker, Barrett Parker, Josi Roark, and Dalton Roark; great-grandchild Braydon Greenwell; several nieces and nephews; his church family; IBEW brothers of Local #934.

    Funeral services for Dallas G. Parker will be conducted on Monday, April 22, 2019, at 7 pm in the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of Hux & Lipford Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5pm -7 pm prior to the service. Chuck Stewart and Dean Gouge will officiate the service. Graveside service, with military honors, will be conducted on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at 11 am, with Honors accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard, from Sunset Memorial Park, Mountain City, TN.

    Pallbearers will be Brian Shupe, Tim Parker, Kenny Wood, Robbie Brown, Jeff Brown, and Darren Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Rogers and all the nurses at the VA Medical Center, Mountain Home, Staff of Amedisys Home Health Care, and the men of Mountain City Church of Christ.
