NOAH GENTRY
Funeral services for Noah Gentry, 42, who died Monday at 4 p.m. at a local hospital following an intestinal operation Thursday night, were to have been held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Free Will Baptist Church, the Rev. James Fair and the Rev. R. N. Own, officiating. Interment was to be in the Highland Cemetery.
Pallbearers were J. Hampton Hyder, John Bowers, Walter Love, E. E. Hyder, Jake Brumit, and Walter Edens.
Survivors are the widow; four[sic] daughters, Bessie, Cora, Ella, Lucille and Ruby Gentry; two sons, Ernest and Frank Gentry; father, F. C. Gentry of Butler, and four brothers, Elbert, Isen, Webster, and Clayton Gentry, all of Butler.
Mr. Gentry had made his home here for several years having come from Johnson County and for some time managed the County Home.

Cora married Robert Cecil Ensor on 17 Jan 1931 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Robert (son of Robert "Bob" Ensor and Jessaline "Jessie" White) was born on 28 Jul 1908 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died on 19 Feb 1994 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Ensor Cemetery, , Carter County, Tennessee. Newport News, Va., September 12- XXXX XXXXXXXX, 22, of Hornsbyville, York County, has been released on $2500 bond pending preliminary hearing on manslaughter charges in connection with the fatal shooting of Miss Ruby Gentry last night, according to York County Sheriff A.S. White. Preliminary hearing will be Wednesday in the county trial justice court at Yorktown.
The girl, a resident of Elizabethtown (sp), Tenn., died last night in a Newport News hospital of a rifle bullet wound.
White said investigation disclosed that XXXXXXXX was awakened by the barking of his dog last night and went out in the yard with his rifle. He fired one shot in the air and another into the shrubbery, the second bullet striking the Gentry girl.
Miss Gentry and Miss Odien Norris, a sister of Mrs. XXXXXXXX had been visiting the XXXXXXXXX and had left Saturday, presumably to return to their homes in Tennessee, White said. Instead they remained at Newport News, White said, and returned to the XXXXXXXXX home. They remained outside the house waiting for XXXXXXXX to go to sleep before they entered, the sheriff reported.
The other girl is being held as a material witness.

ELIZABETHTON — Robert Elmer "Bug" Ensor, 78, Elizabethton passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Robert Cecil & Cora Ellen Gentry Ensor. He was a 1957 graduate of Unaka High School. He was also a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theology Seminary with a degree in Music & Religion Education.

He was retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. HE served in the Vietnam Era. Robert was a member of the Lynn Valley Baptist Church. He loved writing poetry and sharing his gift with others. He also loved music and working with children.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and Raymond Ensor; mother and father-in-law, Van & Jewell Edwards; and a sister-in-law, Elaine.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Frank Ensor; three brothers, Howard Ensor and wife Jewel, C. L "Chug" Ensor and wife Laurie and Ernest "Pete" Ensor and wife Kathy; three sisters, Marie Oxendine and husband Tom, Ruby Corder, and Lynda Kaye Vaughn and husband Tom; his sisters-in-law, Phyllis Ensor, Nyoka Ensor and Evelyn Beschke; a brother-in-law, Roberts Edwards. One Uncle Frank Gentry and wife Evelyn; several nieces & nephews; great nieces & nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Wilson officiating.

Graveside Service and Interment will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016, in the Ensor. Music will be provided by Larry Adams, the Lynn Valley Baptist Church and Cathy Wilson. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m. on Saturday, will be: Kevin Vaughn, Tommy Vaughn, Jason Ensor, Ronnie Ensor, Michael Ensor, John Corder and Chris Corder. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Bill Green, Pastor Bobby Stout, Mem of Lynn Valley Baptist Church, Fred Jenkins, the football team and the Class of 1957, Unaka High School and Carlton H. Conaway.

C. Lee "Chug" Ensor, 76, of Clarksville, Tenn., passed into Heaven on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at his home. He was born on March 28, 1940, to Cecil and Cora Ellen Ensor.
Mr. Ensor graduated from Unaka High School in 1958. He joined the Army and retired many years later.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Stanley, Raymond and Robert "Bug" Ensor; and two nephews, Randy and Ricky Ensor.
Survivors include his loving wife of almost 36 years, Laura Schlosser Ensor; three sons, Chad and Gregory, of the home, and Michael Ensor, daughter-in-law, Kim Ensor, granddaughter, Danielle Ensor, all of Elizabethton; two brothers, Howard (Jewel) Ensor and Ernest "Pete" (Kathy) Ensor; three sisters, Marie (Tom) Oxendine, Ruby Corder and Lynda (Tom) Vaughn; and three sisters-in-law, Phyllis, Nyoka and Joyce Ensor; one uncle, Frank (Evelyn) Gentry. He is also survived by his in-laws, Bryan (Diana) Schlosser, Deborah (Chuck) Tesnow, Gary (Janet) Schlosser, John (Joan) Schlosser and Kevin Schlosser. Many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces also survive.
A memorial service for "Chug" will be held at Dungan Chapel Baptist Church, Elizabethton, Tenn., on Sunday, March 19, at 2 p.m. with Military Honors.

ELIZABETHTON - Evelyn Marie Ensor Oxendine, 76, Elizabethton, went to be with her Lord, Friday, March 15, 2019 at Ivy Hall Nursing Home following an extended illness.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Cecil & Cora Ellen Gentry Ensor. Marie was a 1961 graduate of Unaka High School. She was a retired employee of Kingsport Press after 18 years of service. She was very active in her church, Dungan Chapel Baptist Church, where she had been a Sunday School Teacher, Member of the Church Choir, served as church clerk and active in the WMU for several years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers: Stanley, Raymond, Robert & C. Lee Ensor and two nephews: Randy & Ricky Ensor.

Survivors include her husband: Tom Oxendine, Two Sisters: Lynda Vaughn & husband Tom and Ruby Corder all of Elizabethton. Two Brothers: Howard Ensor & wife Jewell and Ernest "Pete" Ensor & wife Kathy. A special Nephew: Ronnie Ensor, a host of friends, neighbors, nieces & nephews. Her Sisters-In-Law; Phyllis Ensor, Joyce Ensor and Laura Ensor.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2019 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Eric Heaton and Pastor Sammy Ray Oxendine. Interment will follow in the Ensor Cemetery. Music will be provided by Sacred Journey Quartet. Active Pallbearers will be: Tommy Vaughn, John Corder, James "Bo" Ensor, Michael Ensor, Greg Crowe, Jason Ensor and Ronnie Ensor.
