    Notes:

    Mrs. Hazel Estep Jackson, 97, passed away on July 8, 2013, at Christian Care Center, Johnson City.
    Mrs. Jackson was born in Carden's Bluff, Hampton, TN. She was the daughter of James Wesley and Flossie White Estep. She lived in Johnson City for 42 years before moving to Kingsport, TN.
    Mrs. Jackson retired from Beaunit Corporation, coning department, Elizabethton, TN, after 35 years of service.
    She loved God, her church, family and hard work. She was a wonderful Christian mother and grandmother, through her many acts of kindness and thoughtfulness of others, she will be missed. She loved to quilt and cook, known for her fish fries and delicious cakes that she shared with others.
    She was a member of Tri-Cities Gospel Assembly Church, now called Mercy Seat Church.
    Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James Sherman Jackson, in 1998; two sons, Harvey David Jackson Sr., Wane Ross Jackson Sr.; a granddaughter, Pamela Sue Jackson; four sisters, Dorris Estep, Madolin Ward, Ora White, Iva Holder; and two brothers, Stanley Estep and Carl Dean (Bill) Estep.
    Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Hamilton, son-in-law, C. Dean Hamilton, daughters-in-law, Frances H. Jackson, Johnson City, and Ruby Jackson, Conway, Arkansas; sister Joyce Estep Deloach, Southampton, PA; a niece, Joyce Woodby and husband, CM Woodby; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; nine great, great grandchildren; and one great, great, great grandchild; several nieces and nephews also survive.
    The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services, Johnson City.
    A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 PM in the Sunrise Chapel, followed by a committal service at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Mr. George Hall, Minister, will officiate. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

    HAMPTON — Carl Dean "Bill" Estep, 85, 172 Oscar Johnson Road, Hampton, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

    A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late James Wesley and Flossie White Estep. He was a Civil Engineer with the State of Tennessee for over fifty years. He received an Outstanding Service Achievement Award that was presented by the Governor of the state of Tennessee.

    Bill was a longtime member of the Union Baptist Church, where he had served as a Deacon for several years and had served in several different areas of the church. He gave many volunteer hours of his time and resources.

    He loved horses, four wheeling and was an avid bicyclist. At age 71, he rode a bicycle across the state of Georgia to help raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Estep; three sisters: Majolen Ward, Ora White and Iva Holder; and five nephews: Burle Estep, Sammy Lee White, David Jackson, Ross Jackson and Greg Deloach.

    Survivors include his wife of 63 years: Betty Hazelwood Estep; A son & daughter-in-law: Charles Michael and Gail Estep, Johnson City; A Daughter: Judy Estep Grindstaff, Hampton; One Granddaughter: Micah Boone, Elizabethton; Four Great Grandchildren: Mike Johnson, Christian Boone, Jagger Ritchie and Melia Ritchie; Two Sisters: Hazel Jackson, Johnson City, and Joyce Deloach, of Pennsylvania; Several Nieces & Nephews.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Strickland and Rev. Danny Bright officiating.

    Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Music will be provided by Amanda Strickland. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Friday, will be: Ray Harmon, Mark Berry, David Grindstaff, Fred Simerly, Mike Johnson, Cole Harmon, Chris Ritchie and Carl Lee Hazelwood. Honorary pallbearers will be: Michael Clawson, Rick Kilby, Gary Shingleton, Carroll Boone, A.B. Grindstaff, Lue Honeycutt and the Jerry Nave Sunday School Class of the Union Baptist Church.

    Carl married Betty Louise Hazelwood about 1947. Betty (daughter of Edward Samuel Hazelwood and Nelle Gertrude Smith) was born about 1930 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died on 24 Dec 2018 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Union Baptist Church Cemetery, , Carter County, Tennessee.
