MRS. MINNIE HAWKINS
Mrs. Minnie Catherine Hawkins, 63, wife of Thomas N. Hawkins died suddenly Friday afternoon at 4:30 from a heart attack at the home on Cottage Ave.
Mrs. Hawkins, a native of Carter county, was born Feb. 10, 1876, to Rufus and Ana Hasteline Minton, one of the early families of this county. She was also the granddaughter of Richard Jack, early pioneer Methodist minister. Very early in life Mrs. Hawkins united with the First Baptist church and was an active member for a number of years.
On Oct. 2, 1897, she was married to T. N. Shell, who preceeded[sic] her in death 43 years ago. To this union two sons were born. On Feb. 14, 1903, she was married to Thomas N. Hawkins and to this union five children were born. Mrs. Hawkins was the last member of her family living.
Survivors are her husband, four sons, Paul, James, Jeffery Hawkins and Harmon Shell all of this city.
Active pall-bearers[sic] will be Frank Edens, Dana Moody, Stanley Lacey, Bob Davis, Albert Hicks, Bob Woods.
Flower bearers will be Mrs. Olive Weaver, Bertha Woods, Hattie Markland, Rose Trusler, Laura Baines, Emma Barker, Pearl Smith, Callie Sams, Lilly Dickerson, Glen Tester, Nellie Thomas, Luster Baines, Edith Thomas.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Church of God Sunday afternoon at two o'clock with the Rev. T. R. Harrawood officiating, assisted by the Rev. W. R. Worley and Rev. J. A. Cole. Music will be in charge of the church choir. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

Minnie married Thomas Nelson Hawkins on 14 Feb 1903 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Thomas (son of Unknown Gentleman and Deborah M. Hawkins) was born in Aug 1859 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee; died on 15 Mar 1940 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Maymead Cemetery, , Johnson County, Tennessee.
