    Notes:

    Hazel V. Williams, 95, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 14, 2012, after an extended illness.

    She was born in Johnson County, Tenn., and lived most of her life in Carter County. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Mae Arnold Phillippi and the widow of Maynard Ray Williams, who died in 1968. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Peters, in 2005; a son-in-law, Earnest Peters, in 2008; and by four sisters and a brother.

    Mrs. Williams was retired from Watson's and enjoyed working in the garden and her flowers.

    Mrs. Williams was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church.

    Survivors include her two daughters, Mary "Bootie" Peters of Johnson City and Nina Ellis of Elizabethton; grandchildren, Steve Peters and wife Debbie, Melanie Peters, Brian Ellis and wife Sherry and Regina Isaacs and husband Phil; great-grandchildren, Lindsey Buck, Adam Buck, Hunter Peters, Natasha Peters, Chris Peters, Boone Ellis, Miranda Isaacs and Chelsie Isaacs; three sisters, Peggy Sisler, Frances Phillippi and Della Reece; two special nieces, Margaret Bourne of Elizabethton and Dottie Chapman of Florida; several other nieces and nephews; and special neighbors and friends, Rick and Robin Williams and Vernon and Luda Williams.

    The graveside service for Mrs. Williams will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, at Caldwell Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Charles Biggs officiating. Active pallbearers will be Adam Buck, Chris Peters, Hunter Peters and Boone Ellis. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Williams, Dave Ward and Charles Ensor. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.

    Hazel married Maynard Ray Williams about 1936 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Maynard (son of Alfred Carter Williams and Alice E. Morrell) was born about 1916 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died about 1968 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Notes:

    Nina Williams Ellis, 79, of Elizabethton, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018, at her home following an extended illness. She was born in Elizabethton and was a daughter of the late Maynard and Hazel Philippi Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two nephews, Steve Peters and Mike Peters and a brother-in-law, Earnest Peters.

    Ms. Ellis loved to travel and in her younger years she enjoyed square dancing and bowling. She loved her dog and cats, spending time with her family and participating in the activities and worship at church, Pleasant Beach Baptist Church, where she was a member.

    Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Regina Isaacs and her husband, Phil, of Elizabethton; a son, Brian Ellis and his wife, Sherry, of Johnson City; three grandchildren, Miranda Isaacs, Chelsie Isaacs and Boone Ellis and his wife, Mattie; a great-grandchild, Lottie Ellis; a sister, Mary "Bootie" Peters, of Johnson City; and a niece, Melanie Peters, of Johnson City. Great- nieces, Lindsey Moy and Natasha Peters and great-nephews, Chris Peters, Hunter Peters and Adam Buck also survive.

    A service to honor life of Ms. Ellis will be conducted on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Mark Fowler and Rev. Bobby Stout officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Greg Rustin, soloist and Mrs. Tawana Holland, pianist. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from Noon – 1:00 PM on Saturday prior to the service, or at the home at other times.

    Interment will follow the funeral service at Sugar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Dean Pierce, Junior Stanley, Gordon Lewis, Shannon Burchett, Hunter Peters and Chris Peters. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Garland, Bill Cline, Daniel Holder, Junior Campbell and Tommy Vaughn.
