    Margaret Geraldine Vanover, age 74, formerly of 136 Dallas McCracken Dr., Johnson City, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2007 in Life Care Center of Gray following an extended illness. She was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late William Staten and Hildred Turner Vanover. Mrs. Vanover was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Elizabethton Senior Citizens Center. She retired as a home attendant with the First TN Human Resource Agency.
    Survivors include one son, Johnny Williams, Johnson City, one daughter, Sandra Williams, Elizabethton, three grandchildren, Johnny Scott Williams, Elizabethton, Jamie Harrison, Jonesborough, Jessica Harrison, Elizabethton, two great-grandchildren, Haley Harrison, Brendan Harrison and one brother and sister-in-law, Edward L. and Bessie Vanover, Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    The funeral service for Mrs. Vanover will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, June 25 in the Tetrick Funeral Home Riverside Chapel with Dr. Joe Sorah officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel prior to the service. Friends may also call at the home of her brother, Edward Vanover, 150 Vanover Rd., Johnson City at other times.
    Interment will be in Highland Cemetery following the service on Monday. Active pallbearers will be selected from friends and family.

    Edward Lee Vanover, age 85, of Johnson City, TN made his journey home on Friday, January 22, 2021 at his residence.

    Edward was born in Elizabethton, TN to the late William Staton Vanover and Hildred Turner Hubbard.

    Edward was the business owner of Vanover Roofing Inc for over 40 years. He was a loving and caring man with many leadership attributes. Edward was very hardworking and would take the hard right over easy wrong in all that he did. Edward loved his home and his family. He was a mischievous jokester and had a wonderful sense of humor. Edward loved to work outdoors, maintain his property and enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. He was an avid music lover who loved to sing around his house. Some of his favorite artists included Elvis, Patsy Cline and Roy Orbison. In his earlier days Edward enjoyed racing dirt track and riding his motorcycle. Even in his older days he loved to ride around and see the sights.

    In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elizabeth Ann Turner, who raised him as a son, and William Turner; a son, Eddie Ray Vanover; sister, Margaret Geraldine Vanover; grandchildren, Sunny Conforti and Phillip Conforti. Those left to cherish his memories include his loving wife of 65 plus years, Bessie Vanover; children, Debra Heatherly, Theresa Vanover, Sue Bradbury, David Vanover, Donna Stout Vanover, Larry Vanover, Lisha Vanover, Michael Tanner and wife Lauren Tanner; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren along with special friend, Annette Gibson; a special grandson, Nikolas Vanover and special granddaughter, Samantha Shomaker.
    There will be an open visitation at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 between the hours of 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM for those who would like to sign the guest book and pay their respects (the family will not be present).

    The graveside service and entombment will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. following the visitation on Tuesday in the Mausoleum of Faith, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Mack Presnell officiating. Active pallbearers will be David Vanover, Larry Vanover, Michael Tanner, Nickolas Vanover, Marcus Shomaker, Brandon Vanover and Theresa Vanover. Honorary pallbearer will be Christopher Shomaker.

    Debra Vanover Heatherly, 65, of Gray, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, from her residence. Debra was born in Elizabethton, Tenn., to Bessie E. Bristol Vanover, of Johnson City, and the late Edward L. Vanover, of Elizabethton. In addition to her father, Debra was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Heatherly.
    Debra was a loving mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and friend who loved her family and the beach. She retired as a stained glass artist and had a great work ethic. Debra was known for going out of her way to make holidays special for her family and especially her grandchildren. She loved spring and in fact it was her favorite season! Debra loved white lilies as well as roses and all other flowers. She was nurturing, brave, exceptionally smart, caring and loyal, family oriented and very independent and determined — she exceled at all she was a part of. Debra was the epitome of what right looks like in all that she did. Her mantra was always doing the hard right over the easy wrong and she lived her life by this.
    Those left to cherish Debra’s many wonderful memories and continue her legacy include a son, Michael Tanner and his wife Lauren of Kentucky; her mother, Bessie Bristol Vanover of Johnson City; two grandchildren, Alex Tanner and his wife Loretta of Johnson City and Meredith Tanner of Kentucky; two brothers, Larry Vanover and David Vanover, both of Johnson City; and three sisters, Theresa Vanover of Maryland, Sherry Vanover and Donna Stout, both of Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive, as well as her best friends, Yvonne Leonard of Gray and Sue Bradbury of Maryland.
    Friends may visit Tetrick Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until noon on Friday, August 27, to sign the guest register book and pay their respects. A celebration graveside service to honor the life of Debra Vanover Heatherly will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Friday, August 27, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Michael Tanner, David Vanover, Larry Vanover, Terry Vanover, Alex Tanner and Marcus Shomaker.
