ELIZABETHTON - Mr. James Paul Pearson, age 90, of Elizabethton, TN went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from Franklin Woods Community Hospital.

A native of Elk Mills, TN he was the son of the late Grover Clyde and Hattie Mary Anna Eggers Pearson. He was a graduate of Hampton High School where he played basketball and he attended Milligan College. Mr. Pearson had worked at Bemberg, Beaunit and North American Rayon and retired as a Vice-President and Plant Engineer in charge of Research and Development at Universal Fibers, formerly Camac Corporation, Bristol, VA . Mr. Pearson was a long standing member of 67 years at Southside Christian Church, Elizabethton where he was instrumental in building the new sanctuary. He was a former teacher in the Adult and Youth Sunday School Classes and had served as a Deacon and Elder. Mr. Pearson enjoyed riding motorcycles, working on cars, mowing the yard, and fixing anything for others.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Dorothy Clark Pearson; five brothers, Howard Pearson, Dale Pearson, Ernest Pearson, Edsel Pearson and Doug Pearson and a sister, Geraldine Stanton. Those left to cherish his memory include a son, Dr. James M. Pearson and wife Debby, Johnson City; a daughter, Jeanie Cakebread and husband Bruce, Elizabethton; grandchildren, Dr. Zack Pearson and wife Janet, Johnson City, Beth Stone and husband Josh, Greeneville, TN, Renee Wilcox and husband Craig, Stafford, VA and Jared Cakebread, Butler, TN; great-grandchildren, Kaedon, Ivy and Laurel Pearson, Elynn and Emmalee Wilcox and Josh and Lively Stone. Several special nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to honor the life of Mr. James Paul Pearson will be conducted at 5:00 P.M. Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Southside Christian Church, Elizabethton with Mr. Mike Koruschak, minister officiating. Music will be under the direction of the church. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M. prior to the service or at the residences of his son and daughter at other times.

Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 30, 2017 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Zack Pearson, Jared Cakebread, Josh Stone, Craig Wilcox, Kaedon Pearson, Danny Simerly, Nick Blevins and Drew Pearson. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews, whom were all special to him; Otis Gibson, Sam Kyte and the Southside Christian Church family.

Ralph married Marjorie N. "Margie" Ward about 1950. Marjorie (daughter of Clayton James Ward and Mary Elizabeth Rainbolt) was born on 26 Apr 1930 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died on 9 Sep 2015 in Buncombe County, , , North Carolina; was buried in Butler Memorial Cemetery, , Johnson County, Tennessee. Mrs. Geraldine 'Jerri' Stanton, age 83, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief but courageous battle. A native of Carter County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Anna Pearson. In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wayne Stanton, five brothers and five sisters-in-law: Dale Pearson, Howard Pearson and wife Helen, Edsel Pearson and wife Lucille, Earnest Pearson and wife Wanda, Douglas Pearson and wife Margie and Dorothy Pearson, wife of Jim Pearson.
Geraldine was a longtime member of Bakers Gap Baptist Church and loved her church family dearly. The youth at the church held a special place in her heart.
Geraldine was known by family and friends as 'Jerri'. She loved to spend time with her family and church family. She also loved to cook, sew and work in the garden.
Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Missy Stanton of Elizabethton, TN; son and special daughter-in-law, Larry and Dawn Stanton of Mountain City, TN; brother, Jim 'Paul' Pearson of Elizabethton, TN; several nieces and nephews; a dear lifelong friend, Bernice Whaley, and her church family.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 29, 2016 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with her friend and Pastor, Dennis Peterson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the Bakers Gap Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marvin Arney, Jimmy Pearson, Roy Thompson, Doug Arney, Dan Arney, Richard Snyder, Jason Baker and Phil Pearson. Honorary pallbearers Steve Pearson, Les Pearson, Ronnie Pearson, Dave Dugger, Glen Arney, Wade Snyder, Doran Bunting, and Joel Dugger and Geraldine's church family.

Patricia G. Pearson-Hamby, age 74, of Kingsport passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018. Patricia was born in Carter County, TN on October 21, 1945, to the late Earnest and Wanda Pearson.

Patricia was a member of Vaught's Gap Independent Baptist Church. Patricia loved to sing and collecting Angels. She took great joy in caring for her family whom she loved very much. Patricia loved her two companions, her every faithful kitties, Molly and Baby.

Patricia will live on in those left to cherish her memory. Survivors include her son Keith Dugger and wife Carol, daughter Amelia Dugger and husband Charlie; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer Thomas, Christopher Dugger, Earnest Dugger, Charlie Dugger, Michael Murphy, and Julia Winebarger; 8 great-grandchildren Anthony Thomas, JoJo Vargas, Kristina Dugger, Chris Dugger, Kinsley Dugger, Hailey Winebarger, Rowan Winebarger, and Jaden Picazo; 2 sisters Donna Stanley and husband Danny and Shirley Dorton and husband Everett; special friends April and Pam from United Health Care, Clara Mooncaster, Mary Hughes, and Pastor Cliff and Tina Cook, and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to Smokey Mountain Hospice and Crown Cypress, as well as April and Pam from United Health Care. The love and care you gave will not be forgotten.

JOHNSON CITY – Mrs. Donna Kaye Pearson Stanley, age 67, Johnson City, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Saturday May 1, 2021, at her residence following a lengthy struggle with cancer.

Donna Kaye Pearson was born August 2, 1953 in Butler, TN and she was the daughter of the late Ernest R. Pearson and Wanda B. Forrester Pearson. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Pearson Hamby.

Donna is survived by her husband, Dannie R. Stanley, Johnson City; son, Kevin Ward and wife Jerissa Ward, Elizabethton; Daughter Kim Lester and husband Larry Lester, Fall Branch; Daughter Heather Baker and husband Wayne Baker, Gray; son Jared B. Thornton, Johnson City; grandchildren, Makinzie Woodhams, Cydnie Jacobsen; Rylie Thornton, Gabe Thornton, Ketron Ward, Kayson Ward, and Juliane Ward; sister Shirley Dorton and her husband Everett, East Bend, NC; her nephews Bryan Dorton, East Bend, NC and Justin Dorton and his wife Linda Dorton, Winston Salem, NC; nephew Colon K Dugger and niece Amelia Gail Dugger. She is also survived by several cousins.
