    ELIZABETHTON — It is with God's peace that we announce the soul of Ralph Howard Fletcher, 86, of Elizabethton, went to join his Lord on Sunday, April 4, 2010, at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida, with his family by his side.

    Mr. Fletcher was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Andrew J. and Mary Nave Fletcher. In addition to his parents, Ralph has now joined his three brothers and two sisters in heaven.

    He was a 1942 graduate of Unaka High School, worked for 23 years and retired from ITT Corporation.

    Ralph was known for his faithfulness and the loyalty he gave not only to his family but also extended to his friends and business associates.

    Mr. Fletcher belonged to the following organizations: Member and Past Master of Dashiell Masonic Lodge #622, Past High Priest of R.D. Keller Chapter #214, Past Illustrious Master of B.E. Wooten Council #119 and Carter Commandery #37, Charter Member of Jericho Shrine Temple, 32nd Degree of Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Knoxville, Past President of Upper East Tennessee York Rite Association, Illustrious Grand Master of Grand Council of Cryptic Masons of Tennessee, Member of Knight Cross of Honor, received Order of the Purple Cross, Member and Past Worthy Patron of Sycamore Chapter #163 Order of Eastern Star and member of Grand Chapter of Tennessee Order of Eastern Star, Member and Past Governor of North East Tennessee York Rite College #153, Member Red Cross of Constantine and The Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priest.

    He was also a member and former Deacon of Oak Street Baptist Church.

    Ralph leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 63 years, Virginia Davis Fletcher; one daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Joe Reed, one granddaughter, Dena Michelle Richardson, all of Daytona Beach, Florida; two special nieces and caretakers, Angela Richardson and Diana Wright, both of Elizabethton. Several other nieces and nephews survive.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Hendrich officiating.

    Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be Roscoe Peters, Carroll Mick, Foye Manning, Frank Richardson, Franklin Wright, Dylan Wright, Thomas Tester and Will Andrews. Honorary Pallbearers will be His Nieces & Nephews, His Church Family and all the Masonic Bodies. Masonic Honors will be provided by Dashiell Masonic Lodge # 238.

    Ralph married Virginia Lee Davis about 1945. Virginia (daughter of William Riley Davis and Myrtle Brooks) was born on 6 Sep 1923 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee; died on 26 Mar 2016 in Volusia County, , , Florida; was buried in Happy Valley Memorial Park, , Carter County, Tennessee.     Ruth was a member of Edgefield United Methodist Church.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene S. Tinker, in 2006, and a sister, Phyllis White.

    Ruth is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Fletcher; brother, William C. Fletcher and wife Jane, Johnson City; sister, Shelby Medearis, Johnson City; several nieces and nephews.

    The family would like to extend a special thanks to Peggy Grubb, the Avalon Hospice team, especially Kelsey and Lisa, for the excellent care.

    It is with great grief that we mourn the departure of a precious, very much-loved Daddy, Husband, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Brother in love, and Friend, Russell Peters, who, at 85, finished his earthly journey and entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. We are devastated by his loss, but we remain with the spiritual values he instilled in us and will forever cherish every day that we had as his beloved family, forever grateful to God for this precious gift. He was the son of the late Clarence M. and Dora Fletcher Peters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and their spouses: Jack and Helen Fletcher, Bynum and Lena Peters, and Willard and Joan Peters. Russell was a member of Willow Springs Baptist Church and had done various church work over the years. He was a veteran, having served in the National Guard and Army Reserve. Most of his work years were with East Tennessee Chair Company as a band saw operator, who took pride and care in his part of producing beautiful pieces for various chairs. He also worked at NAR and then retired from Blue Ridge Fabricators. He was still an avid go-getter and worked hard, putting his family first with his remaining abilities up to the two weeks preceding his departure. He was at one time an avid gardener, fisherman, hunter-gatherer, wood artist, and enjoyed the mountains and beauty of God’s creation. Those left to cherish his memories and legacy are his beloved, devoted wife of 55 years, Bonnie Peters and cherished daughter, Jill Peters, along with her significant other Tom Davis, two beloved brothers, Norman Peters, Roscoe and Lynetta Peters, two beloved sisters Joyce Grindstaff and Jeanette Bowers, two Brothers and three sisters in love, Charlie(Tom) and Linda Williams, Marvin Williams, Cora Beaumont, and Brenda Riddle, along with treasured nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends, as well as many spiritual brothers and sisters. An open visitation for Russell will be held Monday, May 22, 2023, between the hours of 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. The graveside service and committal will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, in the Wilson Cemetery with Dr. Kenneth Jordan officiating. Pallbearers are Eric Grindstaff, Capt. Christopher Bowers, Dexter Lunceford, Danny Nave, Steve Fletcher, and Steve Williams.

    Willard Peters, 81, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with his Lord on Monday, July 5, 2021, from Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. He was born on January 19, 1940 to the late Clarence Millard Peters and Dora Belle Fletcher Peters.
    Willard was employed by Summers-Taylor, where he retired. He was a member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church. Willard was loved by everyone that had the joy of knowing him. He will be terribly missed by many. After he retired, Willard went back to get his GED. He also served as a volunteer firefighter.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 37 years, Joann F. Peters; an infant sister; his brothers, Jack Fletcher and wife Helen and Bynum Peters and wife Lena; and his brother-in-law, Landon Grindstaff.
    Those left to cherish his memory include a daughter, Wendy Peters of Elizabethton; a step-son and step-daughter, whom he considered his own, Steve Williams and Linda Birchfield, both of Elizabethton; three granddaughters, Cindy James of Elizabethton, Whitney Vines of Kingsport and Lakisha Vines of Knoxville; two great-granddaughters, Caytlin James and Lakyn James, both of Elizabethton; his brothers, Russell Peters and wife Bonnie, Roscoe Peters and wife Lynetta and Norman Peters, all of Elizabethton; and his sisters, Joyce Grindstaff and Jeanette Bowers, both of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    A very special thank you to Ivy Hall Nursing Home for taking such great care of Willard.
    A service to celebrate the life of Willard Peters will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, July 9, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1 until 2 p.m. Friday, prior to the service. The graveside service will follow the Caldwell Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Eric Grindstaff, Chris Bowers, Steve Fletcher, Dexter Lunceford, Jerry Barnett and Joe Howell.
