    MRS. LANDON LYONS
    Mrs. Cora Lyons, 49, died at her home, 401 Allen Avenue, Thursday at 10 p.m. after a short illness. Mrs. Lyons was the daughter of John and Celia DeLoach Heaton. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
    Survivors are her husband, Landon Lyons; one daughter, Marjorie Grace Lyons; five step-children, Ray Lyons of Kingsport, Will, Earl and Howard Lyons of Elizabethton, and Mrs. Ralph Myers of Elizabethton; three sisters, Mrs. Denice Estep, Misses Celeste and Martha Heaton of Elizabethton; five brothers, Sam, Winford, Paul, and Lewis Heaton of Elizabethton, and Haddon Heaton of Idaho; and ten step-grandchildren.
    Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Roy Hathaway Funeral Home is in charge.

    MRS. LANDON J. LYONS
    Funeral of Mrs. Cora Bell Lyons, 49, wife of Landon J. Lyons, who died at her home, 401 Allen Avenue, Thursday at 10 p.m., will be held at Calvary Baptist Church of which she was a member Monday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. George Westmoreland, pastor, and the Rev. Homer Couch officiating.
    Pallbearers will be deacons of the Calvary Baptist Church. Flower bearers will be members of Mrs. Lyons Circle of the Calvary Church. Music will be under the direction of the church choir. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery. The body was returned to the home Saturday afternoon by the Roy Hathaway Funeral Home.
    Surviving Mrs. Lyons are her husband; one daughter, Marjorie Grace Lyons; five brothers, Sam, Lewis, Wimford, and Paul Heaton of Elizabethton and Haddon Heaton of Boise, Idaho; three sisters, Mrs. Dencie Estep, Misses Celeste and Martha Heaton, all of Elizabethton; five step-children, Will, Earl, and Howard Lyons of Elizabethton, Ray Lyons of Kingsport, and Mrs. Ralph Myers of Elizabethton; and ten step-grandchildren.

    Cora married Landon Jackson Jefferon Lyons on 25 Mar 1931 in Carter County, , , Tennessee. Landon (son of Henry Clay Lyon and Dulcenia Elizabeth Russell) was born on 9 May 1886 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died on 10 Mar 1969 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Emmert Cemetery, , Carter County, Tennesee.     Marjorie Gass - JONESBOROUGH
    Marjorie Lyons Gass, age 74, 1982 Hwy. 81 South, Jonesborough, died Friday, January 4, 2008 in Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following three-year illness.

    She was a Carter County native and a daughter of the late Landon J. and Cora Heaton Lyons. Mrs. Gass was a member of Central Baptist Church, Johnson City. She had worked in the banking industry.

    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gass was preceded in death by five brothers: Roy, Earl, Clarence, Howard and Willie Lyons; and one sister: Armita Myers.

    Mrs. Gass is survived by her husband: the Rev. Phil Gass, of the home; one daughter: Julie A. Gass, of the home; and two special nieces: Dr. Jane M. Jones and Jeannette Boswell.

    A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Gass will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, January 7, in the Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel of Peace with Dr. Ron Murray and Rev. Bill Warfield officiating. The eulogist will be Hazel Campbell. Music will be uinder the direction of Bill Stoots, Debbie Odom, Barbara Stephenson, Judy Ramsey, Ambers Wilson, organist, and Rose Mary Lowe, pianist. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday in the chapel prior to the service.

    The graveside service and interment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Those attending are asked to meet the family at the cemetery at 9:50 a.m. Tuesday for the service.

    Marjorie married Rev. Richard Phil Gass about 1954. Richard (son of Charles Harden Gass and Hazel Casteel) was born on 24 Feb 1932 in Greene County, , , Tennessee; died on 28 Feb 2015 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Mountain Home National Cemetery, , Washington County, Tennessee.
