    Mrs. Zella R. DeVault, 99, Gray, went to be with Jesus on Monday, April 18, 2005, at NHC Healthcare Center (where she was a resident). She was the daughter of the late A.J. Isenberg Sr. and Lou Hawk Isenberg. She was a lifelong resident of the Gray Community. Mrs. DeVault attended Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Namoi Church School Class. She was a homemaker and in her early years taught school. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde A. DeVault, a sister, Kate Hodge, a brother, A.J. Isenberg Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Salts and Sally Hicks of Gray; A son and wife, Clyde and Barbara DeVault of Gray; Six grandsons, Danny and Phil Sells, Shannon Salts, Tim Hicks, Kenneth & Gerald DeVault; Two granddaughters, Luanna Wheelock and Alisa Rogers; eight great-granddaughters and eleven great-grandsons; and five great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:15 Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at Gray Funeral Chapel. Services will be held immediately following at 8:30 p.m. Officiating will be Dr. Gene Lasley, Rev. Amy Cook and Rev. Ramon Torris. Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 21, 2005, at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Gray Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and CNAs of Station One at NHC Nursing Facilities.

    GRAY - David "Clinton" Isenberg, Gray, TN., went to be with his Lord and Savior on the morning of April 20, 2017 at Johnson City Medical Center.

    Clinton was born September 23, 1926, and lived most of his 90 years in Gray, Tennessee. He proudly served our country in Japan with the United States Army in WWII. After working years as a welder in many states, he continued his career up to his retirement from Holston Defense, Kingsport. He was a 32nd Degree Mason at the Sinking Creek Masonic Lodge in Gray. He loved his church and attended regularly at Bethany Presbyterian and in his later years at Gray United Methodist until his health declined.

    Clinton was the son of the late John and Vertie Mohler Isenberg. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Leslie, Carl and Nick Isenberg and one grandson David Reed.

    Left to carry on his loving memory is his wife and best friend of 67 years Arliss; two daughters, Kathey Reed and husband Rick and Brenda Vaughan; grandchildren: Stacy and Tammy Vaughan, Holly Vaughan, and Chris Reed; great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Nevaeh Reed. He shared so many special memories with his wonderful sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and with countless dear relatives and friends.

    The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the doctors, nurses and medical staff at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Johnson City, as well as, a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful caregivers and sitters for the past year and a half. You were truly a blessing to all of us. Thank you also Pastor and friend Lloyd Jones and our church friends for your prayers and visits.

    My husband, our daddy, our papaw and friend we will truly miss your joking and loving way!

    The family will greet friends and share memories from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday, April 23, 2017. A celebration of life service for Mr. Isenberg will follow at 4:00 PM, in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City, with The Reverend Lloyd Jones officiating. A military committal and internment service will be at 1:45 PM on Monday, April 24, 2017, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home on Monday at 1:00 PM to go in procession. Active pallbearers will be Mr. Isenberg's grandchildren and son-in-law.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. She was the daughter of Lois E. Isenberg and the late Karl Marx Isenberg. Karla was a 1969 graduate of Science Hill High School. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lisa Robin Wilhoit, a brother Keith Isenberg, and stepson Doug Birchfield. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her lifelong partner, James Morris, sister, Janet Isenberg and stepsons, Jody Birchfield and David Usary; and several nieces and nephews. The family of Karla Birchfield will receive friends 6-8 pm Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at the home of her mother, Lois Isenberg, 709 Hamilton Street, Johnson City.     Lisa Robin Isenberg Wilhoit, age 51, 709 Hamilton St., Johnson City, passed away Monday, May 17, 2004, at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital after a lengthy illness.

    Mrs. Wilhoit was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City.

    She was a daughter of Lois E. Deloach Isenberg, Johnson City, and the late Karl Marx Isenberg.

    Mrs. Wilhoit was a homemaker as well as a loving mother and grandmother.

    She was a 1971 graduate of Science Hill High School.

    In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Wilhoit, and her brother, Keith Isenberg.

    In addition to her mother, Mrs. Wilhoit is survived by one son, Kyle Shannon Earp, Johnson City; one daughter, Candice Ayers, Johnson City; two sisters, Karla Birchfield and Janet Isenberg, both of Johnson City; four grandchildren, Cody Reed, Dawn Reed, Megan Earp and Jessica Earp, all of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews.

    The family of Lisa Robin Isenberg Wilhoit will receive friends Thursday, May 20, 2004, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the home of her son, Kyle Shannon Earp, 3517 Chelsea Ln., Johnson City.

    It was Mrs. Wilhoit’s wishes to be cremated and to have no formal memorial service.

    She was born and raised in Johnson City, and the third daughter born to the late Lois Evelyn (Deloach) and Karl Isenberg. She was a former English teacher at ETSU, having received her Master's degree in English Literature from the same institution. More than anything she enjoyed dogs, reading and cooking for holidays.

    In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters Karla Annette Birchfield, Lisa Robyn Wilhoit, and her brother, Larry Keith Isenberg.

    Surviving family is her daughter, Courtney (Robinson) Thrift and husband Lee of Winston Salem NC, ex-husband and part-time care-taker Kenneth Robinson of Johnson City TN, Neices Candice (Candi) (Earp) Ayers of TN, Amy (Isenberg) Kelley of TN, Nephews Kyle Shannon Earp and wife Becky of TN, and Adam Isenberg of GA. She also had extended family with cousins, grand-nieces and nephews and great grandnephews.
