    ELIZABETHTON - Dorothy Mae Grindstaff Deloach, 79, Elizabethton, passed away peacefully at her home Friday morning, March 1, 2019 after an extended illness.

    A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Claude & Lillie Fritts Grindstaff. Dorothy was a graduate of Unaka High School. She had worked for the Blue Springs Utility District for a number of years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Carl Deloach, brothers: David (Dave) Grindstaff, Wes, Harold, and AB Grindstaff, her sisters: Ruby, Opel, Dimple and June.

    Survivors include her daughter: Kathy Grindstaff of the home, special friend and caregiver, Joy Peterson also of the home. One sister: Josie Shook (Jack). One Brother: Elic Grindstaff. A special sister-in-law: Polly Grindstaff, several nieces and nephews also one special aunt: Una Glick of Delaware.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Wilson officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2019 in the Grindstaff family cemetery. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday will be: David Grindstaff, David Gentry, Kenneth Jones, Harold Monteith, Brent Grindstaff, David Tolley and Randy Kirbo. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at her residence. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Amedisys Hospice and a special thanks to Emily White, Michelle Leatherwood, Michelle Mosley and Elaine Mottern.

    MOUNTAIN CITY - Lt. Marvin K. Fritts, age 55, of 146 Butler Lane, Mountain City, TN passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Johnson City Medical Center.

    He was born January 7, 1961 to Kenneth Fritts and the late Carolyn Maiden.

    In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by: grandparents, Dorothy Fritts-Hobson, John Milton Fritts, and Mae and Gene Brookshire.

    Marvin served in the United States Marine Corp. and the Mountain City Police Department for 27 years. He enjoyed running, playing music, boxing, and spending time with his kids. He was a fan of the Tennessee Volunteers. Marvin served as the D.A.R.E. Officer for several years and touched many lives by doing so.

    He is survived by his father, Kenneth Fritts and wife Bobbie; step father, Al Maiden; his fiancé, Chelsea Thomas; his two wonderful children, Caleb Kenneth Fritts and Elizabeth Furches; two sisters, Belinda McCoy, Kim Garland and husband Robby; one brother, Stuart Fritts; and nieces and nephews, Laura Johnson, Julia Haston, Ryan Garland, Brooke Garland, Noah Garland, Allison Fritts, Sydney Fritts, Lilly Johnson, Dane Johnson,Raegan Johnson, Brayden Garland, and Olivia Garland.

    Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July, 10, 2016, at 3:00 p.m., from the Johnson County High school Gymnasium with Mr. Dwayne Dickson officiating.

    The family will receive friends from 1:00 -3:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside service and interment will follow from Sunset Memorial Park with Military Honors accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be: Roger Gentry, Ron Shupe, Ken Lane, Steve McEwen, Joey Norris, Denver Church, Ronnie Thomas, and Jesse Thomas. Honorary pallbearers are Tom Neaves, Troy Fritts, Dan Lipford, Chris Brown, Doug Fritts, and Jeff Shelton.
