    Notes:

    Margaret Street passed away in her family home August 11, 2017 after an extended illness. Garrett Hazen Street, her husband of seventy-one years of marriage, passed away two days later on August 13, 2017.

    Margaret Ella Mae Street, born on Stoney Creek on January 25, 1929, was the youngest daughter of Wiley Washington Estep and Claire Emily (Arnold) Estep. She was the last surviving sibling of ten children, six who had grown into adulthood.

    Garrett Hazen Street was born on Stoney Creek on July 16, 1926, the son of Garrett Hazen Street Senior and Minta Missouri (Eller) Street. He is survived by his brother Herb Street and wife Kathy.

    Garrett Hazen was a World War II veteran, serving as a "gunner" on Naval aircraft in the Pacific. He graduated from Milligan College in Elizabethton and worked for General Motors from 1950 until his retirement in 1985. He held various positions throughout his career, including Personnel Director in Muncie and later Vice-President of Labor Relations for Chevrolet. He owned and flew his own aircraft for a time. He loved golfing and martinis. After retirement, he became heavily involved in Dungan Chapel Baptist Church and was a charitable man.

    Margaret was a great homemaker and well-loved by most everyone. She was talented in whatever she was interested in at the time, such as winning numerous golf tournaments and making her daughters' gowns for prom. She was very interested in art and picked up painting later in life, as well as being an avid reader. She enjoyed entertaining guests at her home for Garrett's work events. She volunteered at Sycamore Shoals for a time. She was a very sweet, intelligent, and interesting person.

    Garrett and Margaret lived in Detroit, Muncie, and Cleveland during Garrett's GM career, and moved back to Margaret's childhood home in Elizabethton after Garrett's retirement, while also spending winters in Fort Myers. Margaret was "brought down Estep Hollow in a wagon at 2 months of age" to move to the home and she later died there eighty-eight years later.

    They are survived by their three children; Garry Street and wife Lisa of Elizabethton, TN, Judy Fanning of Muncie, IN, and Beverly House of Elizabethton, TN; six grandchildren, including Michael Ball of Fort Wayne, IN, Chad Street and wife Liana of Longmont, CO, Michael Street and wife Carrie of Loveland, CO, Nicholas House of Muncie, IN, Randall House and wife Jacalyn of Falling Waters, WV, and Matthew House and wife Hillary of Indianapolis, IN; and seven great-grandchildren; also Lora Jones, who was there with Margaret the last six years of her life.

    Charlotte Jean Estep Donnelly, 80, of Elizabethton, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, after a brief illness.
    A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Roger and Eliza White Estep.
    Charlotte was a 1955 graduate of Unaka High School and a retired Dental Assistant. She was a member of Dungan Chapel Baptist Church.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Allen Donnelly and James Roger Donnelly, and a sister, Sue Fletcher.
    Survivors include her husband, Richard Donnelly; a daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Michael Hilton, Dallas, N.C.; a grandson, Richard Sean Donnelly, Mooresville, N.C.; and a brother, Larry Wayne Estep and wife Judy, Elizabethton.
    The family will receive friends from noon until 1 p.m. Friday, June 15, at the funeral home. A private graveside service will be held in the Garland Cemetery with the Rev. Eric Heaton officiating. Active pallbearers will be Larry Estep, Eddie Speer, Gary Street, Sean Donnelly, Henry Clay White and Dick "Ken" Estep. Honorary pallbearers are Dallas Williams and Glen White.

    Phyllis Sue Fletcher, 75, of Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness.
    A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Roger and Eliza White Estep.
    Sue was a 1959 graduate of Unaka High School. She had worked at American Air Filter, Elizabethton, and the Mazer Corporation, Johnson City, before her retirement. She was a member of Unaka Baptist Church.
    Survivors left to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Bobby Joe Fletcher; one son, Eric; one sister, Charlotte and Richard Donnley; one brother, Larry and Judy Estep; several nieces and nephews; her special friends, Edna Yates, Jerry and Shirley Grindstaff, the Red Hat Ladies Sunday School Class, deacons and special friends of Unaka Baptist Church, Walker and Diane Roberson, close friends of Eric, and special friends and co-workers at Snap-on Tools of Elizabethton.
    The funeral service for Phyllis Sue Fletcher will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, December 5, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Walker Roberson officiating. The Rev. Eric Heaton will deliver the eulogy. Music will be under the direction of Sheila Nidiffer. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, prior to the service, and other times at the residence. Graveside services will be at a later date.

    Danette Hardin, 77, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Daniel H. and Ina M. Estep. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rev. Richard Estep, and a grandson, Jesse Hardin.
    Those left to cherish her memories include her devoted husband of 59 years, David “Doug” Hardin; son, Jeff Hardin and wife Sherri; daughter, Stephanie Ensor and husband Donald; six grandchildren, Sarah Hardin (fiancé Weston Colbaugh), John-Wesley Hardin, Rebekah Hardin, Brandi Ensor (fiancé Chris Beach), Davy Ensor and Daniel Ensor; and a very special great-granddaughter, Allie Beach.
    Survivors also include five special sisters-in-law, Jan Estep, Georgia Ellis, Carol Hardin, Vera Smith and Karen Hardin, and life-long friends, Dean and Flo Grindstaff. In addition, she is survived by many nephews and nieces.
    Danette was a life-long member of Stoney Creek Baptist Church and was retired from the State of Tennessee Department of Human Services.
    A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, July 24, at 1 pm. at Blevins Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Music will be provided by the New Liberty Quartet. Pallbearers will be selected from grandsons and nephews in attendance. Friends and family are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 12:20 p.m. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to express a special thank you to her grandson, Davy Ensor, for his loving care and assistance during her illness, the staff of Caris Healthcare, and all the visits and meals from family, friends and neighbors.

    Rev. Richard Harvey "Dick" Estep, 69, Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord, Sunday December 28, 2014, at his residence following an extended illness. He was a Carter County native. He was a 1963 graduate of Unaka High School where he was a member of the Ranger Football Team for four years. Richard was ordained to the Ministry by his father-in-law Rev. Homer Salyer at Hunter Memorial Baptist Church forty two years ago. He had served the following Churches: Beck Mountain Baptist Church, Dungan Chapel Baptist Church and Stoney Creek Baptist Church. He also had held several revivals during his Ministry. He also had worked at PSG for 20 years. He was a member of Stoney Creek Baptist Church. Richard was preceded in death by his father: Daniel Harvey Estep, December 7, 1995.
    Survivors include his wife of 49 years: Janice Salyer Estep. Two Sons: Lance "The Duke" Estep, of the home and Shannon Estep and wife Christy, Elizabethton. Three Grandchildren: Aaron, Carissa and Jacob Estep. His Mother: Ina Hyder Estep. One Sister & Brother-In-Law: Danette & Doug Hardin, Elizabethton. Numerous nieces & nephews.
    A Service Honoring the life of Richard Harvey Estep will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2014, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Eric Heaton, Rev. Eric Wright and Rev. Roy Wilson (Ministers who Richard had ordained) officiating. Interment will follow in the Grindstaff Cemetery (Stoney Creek) with the Rev. Roger Haley and Rev. David Foster officiating. Music will be provided by Eric Heaton, The New Liberty Quartet and Debra Woods. Active Pallbearers will be: Aaron Estep, Desler Salyer, Roy Salyer, Doug Hardin, Jeffery Hardin, Jerry Proffitt, Jamie Buckles and Eddie Spears. Honorary Pallbearers will be: All his Nephews, Harold Bowers, Javy Taylor, Estel Taylor, Lanny White, Billy "Boo" Bishop, Ken Pierce and Ministers of the Watauga Baptist Association. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until the service hour Wednesday. Friends may also visit with the family and the residence.
