Kathrine A. Truitt Shipley was born February 13, 1949, in Fort Knox, KY.

She lived the majority of her life in Johnson City, TN. She passed on April 29, 2018 surrounded by her family.

She is preceded in death by both parents, Joseph M. Truitt and Annie B. Heaton. She leaves behind a brother, Bryan Truitt of Jonesborough, TN; a sister, Sandra T. Whitehead of Buford, GA; her daughter, Morgan Shipley and her grandson, Avery Stephens of the home. She was a graduate of ETSU where she earned her BSN. She completed her post graduate degree, MSN, from the University of Phoenix. Kathrine spent 17 years as the Infectious Disease and Employee Health Nurse at Woodridge Hospital, retiring in 2004. A celebration of life will be held at Carver Recreation on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 3pm – 5pm.
