    ELIZABETHTON — Ruth M. Wilson, 85, Elizabethton, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at her residence following an extended illness.

    A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Ora & Sallie Buckles Nave. Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker and a former Cook at Unaka High School. She loved cooking for her family and working in her flowers. She was a member of Stoney Creek Baptist Church.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ora Dale Wilson; three brothers, Snyder, Ray & Arthur Nave; and three sisters, Ailene Nave, Juanita Fair; an infant sister; and Rosa.

    Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Conway "JC" Wilson; her children, Kennetha Marshall, Johnson City and Gary (Sharon) Wilson, Kingsport; three grandchildren, Kimberly Buck, Ericka Marshall and Kasey Duncan; three great grandchildren, Chase Buck, Kaelyn Duncan and Keaton Duncan; one sister, Phyllis Gouge, Johnson City; several nieces & nephews; special "sister" Geraldine Grindstaff; and special "cousin" Charlotte Farrington.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Nathan Jennings officiating. Entombment Services will be conducted in the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be: Keith Lyons, Fonz Cecil, Montie Lyons, Chase Buck, Steve Lowe, Matt McCamy, Alex Carr and Chuck Milam. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Raymond Jenkins and Tim Robey.

    The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to the Staff of Amedisys Hospice for the great care they give to her and a special "Thank You" to Emily White.

    JOHNSON CITY - Phyllis Marie Gouge, age 85, of Johnson City, Tennessee went home to be with her Lord on Monday, November 1, 2021 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Phyllis was born in Carter County to the late Ora Gay Nave and Sarah Buckles Nave. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
    To know her was to know love, compassion, and the most tender heart. She was without a doubt the sweetest, most precious soul we have ever known and had a smile that would light up a room. She closed her eyes on her earthly home and opened her eyes to see the face of GOD in her eternal home. Although she will be terribly missed, we have comfort in knowing she is at rest and at the feet of Jesus.
    Phyllis retired from Johnson City Medical Center as a dietary aide and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved to sing in the choir, shopping, going out to eat, reading her bible, and crocheting in her younger years.
    Those left to cherish Phyllis’s memories include her husband of sixty-nine years, Kyle Gouge of the home; three children, Debbie Teague, Lois Hyder (Clifford) and Jeffrey Gouge; her grandchildren, Melanie Williams, Michele Robitaille (Mike), Ronnie Wilson and Amy Henegar; her great grandchildren, Mason Williams, Caitlyn Wilson, Chandler Williams, Adrienne Henegar, Marcus Robitaille, Ethan Robitaille, Autumn Henegar, Cassidy Wilson and Kelsie Robitaille. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    A service to celebrate the life of Phyllis Marie Gouge will be conducted at 11:30 AM on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. There will be an open visitation from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM on Thursday prior to the service.
    The graveside service will follow in the Wilson Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Clifford Hyder, Ronnie Wilson, Mike Robitaille, Mason Williams, Chandler Williams and Jason Eggers. Honorary pallbearers will be Marcus Robitaille and Ethan Robitaille.

    Frances I. Hopson Stout, 85, formerly of Jonesborough, Tenn., passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019, at Durham Hensley Nursing Home in Chuckey, Tenn. She was the daughter of the late Bill and Ailene Nave Hopson and was a native of Carter County.
    Frances was a charter member of Community Baptist Church, Jonesborough.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Stout, on November 4, 1995; a brother, Arlin E. Hopson; and a sister, Geraldine Hodge.
    Those left to cherish her memory include three sons, Glenn Stout and wife Ethelene, Ronnie Stout and wife Darlene and Gary Stout and wife Betty, all of Limestone, Tenn.; three granddaughters, Beth Pugh and husband Todd, Limestone, Tenn., Dionne Ganger and husband Ted, Johnson City, Tenn., and Kelli Goetzke and husband Drew, Telford, Tenn.; three great-granddaughters, Makenzie Williams, Chloe Ganger and Macy Ganger; and a sister, Ruby Vandergriff and husband Clyde, Elizabethton, Tenn. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    A graveside service to honor the life of Frances I. Hopson Stout will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 7, in the Caldwell Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Lynn Neas officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Jerry Barnett. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Everyone attending will meet at the cemetery at 2:50 p.m. Sunday for the graveside service. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Durham Hensley Nursing Home for their loving care of Mrs. Stout.

    ELIZABETHTON - Geraldine Hopson Hodge, 82, Elizabethton passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018 at her residence.

    Born September 15, 1935 in Elizabethton to the late Bill & Ailene Nave Hopson. She was a graduate of Unaka High School. Mrs. Hodge was a Certified Nursing Assistant. She retired from Hermitage Nursing Home in 1994. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Hubert Glenn Hodge and a brother: Arlin Hopson.

    Survivors include her children: Steven Hodge (Patty), Elizabethton, Janet Taylor (John) _, Hood River, Oregon and Brian Hodge, Bluff City. Two Sisters: Frances Stout of Chuckey, Tenn., Ruby Vandagriff (Clyde), Elizabethton. Five Grandchildren: Jeremy Hodge, Piney Flats, Andy Taylor (Victoria), Salem Oregon, Josh Taylor (Laurel) Hood River, Oregon, Elizabeth Decker (Kristoff), Fairview , Oregon, and Stephanie Rothell (Marcus), Ankeny, Iowa. Ten Great Grandchildren. A special Aunt & lifetime friend, Phyllis Gouge, Johnson City. Several nieces, nephews & cousins.

    A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jamie Ferguson officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2018 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Patty Hodge. Active Pallbearers will be: Dennis Depew, Josh Taylor, Jeremy Hodge, Jackie Blevins, Ronnie Stout and Glen Stout. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dr. Ryan Hackett, Dr. David Fenner, Dr. David Mills and members of the Cedar Heights Condo Association.
