MRS. LONA F. MOREFIELD…
… 69, Mountain City, died Monday afternoon, March 7, in Memorial Hospital, Johnson City.
Mrs. Morefield was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include the husband, W. F. Morefield; two sons, Burl of Mountain City, and W. F. Morefield, Jr., of Roanoke, Va.; three daughters, Mrs. Verna Mae Greer of Hillsdale, Va., Mrs. Crete Proffitt, Roanoke, Va., and Mrs. Kate Walker, Neva; three brothers, Charlie Forrester, Johnson City, Hard and Dewey Forrester, Virginia; three sisters, Mrs. Cora Dyson, Mountain City, Mrs. Ettie Bebber, Damascus, Va., and Edith Forrester, Maryland; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m., from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. D. L. Miller and H. T. Mabry officiating. Burial was in the Morefield cemetery.

Lona married Wilburn Floyd Morefield about 1901 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee. Wilburn (son of James Vincent Morefield and Ellander W. "Ellen" McElyea) was born about 1889 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee; died on 26 Apr 1967 in , Brunswick County, Virginia Colony, ; was buried in Morefield Cemetery, , Johnson County, Tennessee.
