ERWIN — Ruby Grace Collins Martin, age 91, went to be with her Lord Jesus on Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Unicoi County Long Term Care Facility in Erwin, TN, where she was lovingly cared for by a tremendous staff.

Mrs. Martin was born February 12, 1920, in Elizabethton, TN, the daughter of the late Ollie Gilson Collins and Dessie Nave Collins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Martin Jr.; and 5 brothers; and 4 sisters.

Ruby is survived by her sister, Wilma Jean Elliott (Elizabethton, TN).

She is also survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Adams and husband, Robert, (Dacula, GA); her son, Tony J. Martin and wife, Julia (Johnson City, TN); three granddaughters, Tonya Whitman, Jan Nagel and Tassy Von Kracke; and four grandsons, Travis Martin, Scott Adams, Brad Adams and Todd Adams; and 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Ruby Martin retired from J.C. Penney Company after working 28 years in May 1989, a job she dearly loved. Ruby was an active member of Unaka Avenue Baptist Church for many years.

A Celebration of Life Service for Ruby Grace Collins Martin will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 3, 2011, at Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services.

A Committal and Interment service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, Elizabethton. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

Mrs. Nidiffer was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late
Charlie Harrison and Sallie Gay Nave Treadway. She was also preceded in
death by her husband, Jess Cole Nidiffer, February 9, 1977; a brother, Ira
Treadway; an infant brother, Junior Treadway; a nephew, Jack Ray Treadway; a
nephew-in-law, the Rev. Johnny Combs; two step-sons, Robert Nidiffer and Jess
Lynn Nidiffer; and a step-daughter, Beryl Williams.
Mrs. Nidiffer was a member of Charity Hill Free Will Baptist Church. She

was a retired employee of East Tennessee Undergarment Company.
Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, June Estep Benson and Robert
Benson, Elizabethton; a brother and sister-in-law, Eston and Frances Nell
Treadway, Elizabethton; a step-son and his wife, Terry and Earnestine
Nidiffer, Anchorage, Alaska; a sister-in-law, Lorine Treadway, Elizabethton;

a nephew and his wife, Jesse Bennick and Joyce Treadway, Elizabethton; a
niece-in-law, Diane Treadway, Elizabethton; four great-nephews, Jamie Combs,
Jody Combs, Brandon Treadway and Brian Treadway, all of Elizabethton; one
great-niece, Charli Treadway, Elizabethton; and two great-grand-nieces,

ELIZABETHTON - Mary Esther Nave, 84, Elizabethton, passed away on 12/08/2021, from Covid Pneumonia. She was born and raised in the Valley Forge Community off Long Hollow Rd. She was the daughter of the late Coy Nave, Sr. and Minnie Little Nave. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Blanche Dolan, Vorita Hodge and Pansy Taylor and two brothers: Coy Nave, Jr. and Harold Lee Nave and one very special nephew, Joey Nave and one niece, Melissa Richardson. She was a retired CNA and Cook in the health care field. Mary was single all her life but she was a mother and friend to many, especially to her family and friends. She loved to clean, garden and cook. She will be greatly missed. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Farris Nave and a very special friend, Jerry Maupin. She is also survived by her special Fury Friend, Molly. Mary also is survived by her special friends: Jimmy Vanhorn, Elaine Brumitt, Lisa and DA Bowers and Family, Bill and Margaret Dolan and Mary Roberts, Rachel Laws, Bryson Laws and Brianna Hoyle Jenkins.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 in the McKinney Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Richardson and Rev. Sherrell Nave officiating. Music will be provided by Patti Whitson. Active pallbearers that are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Saturday will be: Mike McKinney, Brad Whitson, Bryson Laws, Davon Jarrett, Hunter Nave, Joshua Nave and Travis Brumit. Earl Hampton, 90, of Johnson City, Tenn., passed away Monday, November 29, 2021, at Johnson City Medical Center. Earl was born in Carter County to the late Leonard Benjamin Hampton and Mary Nave Hampton. In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Glenda Williams Hampton; three sisters, Ethel Hampton, Ella Mae Miller and Orlia Harrison; five brothers, Samuel Hampton, Paul Hampton, Ray Hampton, Roy Hampton and Johnny Hampton; and a special cousin, Ruth Street.
Earl graduated from Elizabethton High School in 1949. He joined the United States Army and was a First Sergeant having served in the Korean Conflict. He later served in the United States Army Reserves. Earl was the owner and operator of Hampton Homes based in Johnson City, Tenn., and built hundreds of houses in East Tennessee. He served as Board of Education member of Tennessee Bible College in Cookeville, Tenn., for 38 years. Earl read the Bible every day; he had actually read the Bible through 14 times.
Survivors include a daughter, Robbin Hampton Aesque and husband Charles of Gray, Tenn.; a son, Tony Hampton and wife Martha of Sulphur Springs, Tenn.; a brother, Jerry Hampton of Knoxville, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Bobbie Hampton of Erwin, Tenn.; his grandchildren, Brock Aesque and Hank Hampton; one great-grandchild, Liam Jude Aesque; and a special nephew, Chuck Hampton of Charlestown, W.Va.
A private service for members of the Hampton family will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 4, in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park.

UNICOI - John C. "Johnny" Hampton, age 84, of Unicoi, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.

Johnny was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee to the late Leonard and Mary Nave Hampton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Ray Hampton, Roy Hampton, Samuel Hampton and Paul Hampton; and three sisters, Ethel Hampton, Orlia Harrison and Ella Mae Miller.

Johnny was the former owner and operator of John's Barber Shop in Baltimore, Maryland. He was a United States Army veteran, having served his country proudly in the Korean Conflict. Johnny was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Unicoi Masonic Lodge #681 F&AM and he was a member of Grace Methodist Church of Erwin. He loved to garden, golf, loved his church and being with his children and his church family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted wife, Barbara Hampton, of the home; two sons, Terry L. Hampton and wife Kristin, of Gray, Tennessee and Chuck Hampton and wife Joyce, of Ranson, West Virginia; four grandchildren, Jason Hampton, of Gray, Jennifer Hampton, of Gray, Lindsey Sederstrom, of Stephen City, VA and Chelsea Hampton, of Hagerstown, Maryland; three great grandchildren, Ethan Abramot, Tristan Abramot and Oliver Sederstrom; two brothers, Earl Hampton, of Johnson City and Jerry Hampton and wife Sandy, of Knoxville, Tennessee. A service to honor the life of John C. "Johnny" Hampton will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 28, 2019 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Garland James and Mr. Tony Hoss, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Thursday.

The graveside and inurnment will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 29, 2019 at Mountain Home National Cemetery (In the new section of the VA cemetery). Military honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be Rev. Garland James, Herschel and Barbara Scalf, Anthony and Karen Lyons, Rob and Kathy Perry, Steve and Carol McGill and Brenda and Bill Brown.

ELIZABETHTON - Randy Cleveland McKinney, age 74, of the Gap Creek Community, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from the Ivy Hall Nursing Home.

Randy was born in Elizabethton, but had spent 20 + years in Roan Mountain, before returning to the Gap Creek Community. He was a son of the late C.H. "Pee Wee" McKinney and Ruella Nave McKinney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an older sister, Charlotte Ann McKinney in 1984; and a brother-in-law, Steve Payne in December 2017.

Randy retired from the Northeast Correctional Facility in Mountain City, Tennessee. He was a National Guard veteran and was a member of the 1962 graduating class at Happy Valley High School. Randy was a member of Big Spring Church of Christ, where he was baptized in 1956. He enjoyed draft horses, wagon trains and farming with horses.

Those left to cherish his memories include two sons, James C. McKinney, of the home and Matthew L. McKinney and wife Diane, of Roan Mountain; two granddaughters, Shellie McKinney and Mattison McKinney, both of Roan Mountain; one grandson, Randall Johnson, of Roan Mountain; one sister, Linda M. Payne, of the Milligan College Community; one brother, Michael McKinney and companion Susie Bledsoe and Michael's grandson, Kody Austin, all of Elizabethton; a nephew, Alex Payne and wife Andrea and their daughter, Eva; and two nieces, Krista McKinney Richardson and her sons, Chance McKinney and Lane Richardson, and Kara McKinney Austin. Several cousins also survive.

A service to honor and celebrate the life of Randy Cleveland McKinney will be conducted at 5:00 PM on Saturday, December 15, 2018 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Mr. Glen Layfield, minister and Pastor Sherrel Nave, officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Saturday.

The graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 16, 2018 in the McKinney Cemetery, 142 Bear Hollow Road, Elizabethton, Tennessee. ELIZABETHTON - Patsy Nave-Hubbard, age 61, of Elizabethton, TN went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at her residence following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Lula McKinney Nave. Patsy had been a sales associate at the Walmart, Elizabethton for forty-one and ½ years. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church in the Gap Creek Community. She loved to play the piano; was an avid photographer and enjoyed gardening. Patsy loved her pets and especially loved her family and visiting with people.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ken Franklin. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Clinton Eugene Hubbard, of the home; brothers, Gary Nave and wife Miyoko, Sumter, SC and Larry Nave and wife Sara, Elizabethton, TN; sister, Barbara Smith and husband Paul, Banner Elk, NC; sisters-in-law, Jan Franklin, Palmer, TN and Kay Mason and husband Jim, Arkansas; brothers-in-law, Lee Hubbard and wife Terry, Elizabethton, TN and Mike Hubbard and wife Sue, Johnson City, TN; step-son, Chris Hubbard and wife Sheena, Texas and four step-grandchildren. A service to honor the life of Patsy Nave-Hubbard will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 31, 2016 in Zion Baptist Church, Gap Creek with Dr. Alan King and Rev. Sherrel Nave officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Zion Baptist Church Choir and Jennifer Hughes, pianist. Graveside service and interment will follow the funeral service in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Chris Nave, Jeremiah Nave, Jeff Smith, Joshua Hubbard, Lee Hubbard, Chris Hubbard and Mike Hubbard. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Franklin, the men of Zion Baptist Church, brothers and sisters in Christ, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at Zion Baptist Church, Gap Creek on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. or at the residence at any time or at the residence of her brother, Larry Nave at any time.

Sandra Ann Treadway Kyte, 80, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Johnson City Medical Center. Sandra was born in Carter County to the late Lawrence E. Treadway and Lavinia Sheffield Treadway. In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Lloyd Kyte.
Sandra had worked for Inland Container as a payroll clerk and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

Robin is survived by sisters Judith Fleenor, and Terri Knapp and brother Dwight Treadway (Cindy Morrison Treadway), nieces Elecia Hodge Lonon (Scott), Jasmine Treadway (Brooks Price), nephews, William Lynne Hodge (Karen), Nathaniel Treadway (Carrie), Zach Treadway (Kendall), great nieces and nephews, Sarah Lonon, Ben Hodge, Jaxon and Maddux Price, Molly and Raylen Treadway. Extended family: Thiel McCracken, Greg McCracken, Alan McCracken and Turby Treadway, and special friends Marie and Steven May, Phyllis Hughes and those with whom she worked, and numerous Fur babies.

Robin was preceded in death by her parents, Dwight and Maxine Treadway, and her husband, Chuck Kinley.

Our beautiful Robin was first and foremost a lover of all that she came into contact with. She was an astute business woman, and a hard worker. Robin lived her life with her hands and heart wide open, willing to give her heart and home to any and all, without measure. She will be remembered for her quick wit, her contagious laughter and her love of God, life and those in her circle. She enjoyed herself in everything she did, always creating joy for others. Robin was blessed with the gift of touching others; she gave even in death as she was an organ donor, always thinking of ways to help improve quality of life for others and creating beauty wherever she went. Robin was a picture of grace, class and beauty.

A memorial service to celebrate Robin's life will be conducted on Monday, August 8, 2022 at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Pastor Andy Blackwelder officiating. Music will be under the direction of Michael Paul Mould.

ELIZABETHTON - Edna Tidwell Mann, age 93, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital in Elizabethton. Edna was born in Carter County, Tennessee on November 2, 1928, a daughter of the late Vegie and Thelma Inez (Collins) Tidwell. In addition to her parents, Edna was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, William E. “Jack” Mann; and two brothers, Hyman (Pansy) Tidwell and James Ollie Tidwell.

Edna retired from Univac and was a lifelong member of Stoney Creek Baptist Church. She was also a member of Grace Baptist Church in Elizabethton and a member of the Eastern Star Sycamore Chapter #163. Edna enjoyed cross stitching, gardening in her flowers and making flower arrangements from her flowers, reading and spending time with her three granddogs.

Those left to cherish and remember Edna include two daughters, Sherry (Conn) Nave of Elizabethton, TN and Tracie A Mann of Johnson City, TN; her sister, Inez Duren of Atlanta, Georgia and several nieces and nephews and her church families.

An open visitation will be conducted from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Thursday, October 20, 2022 in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton for friends to sign the register book and pay their condolences.

The committal and entombment service for Edna will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 21, 2022 in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Dr. Kenneth Jordan, officiating. Active pallbearers will be David Rock, Brady Williams, Dean Grindstaff, Rodney Campbell, Steve Mullins, and Steve Kaylor. Her church family will serve as honorary pallbearers.
