Mary Marjorie Ginolfi, age 96, passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019 in the Mountain City Care Center. She was born February 22, 1923 in the Neva Community of Johnson County to the late Ott M. Bunting and Ina Stout Bunting. She was a member of Bakers Gap Baptist Church and she enjoyed cooking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas, three sisters: Virginia Snyder, Opal Susi and Kathleen Bunton and five brothers: Marshall, Fred, Barton, Jim and Doran.

Survivors include: Stepchildren, Mary Ann Kallas, Hurley, Wi. And Michael Ginolfi of Utah. Sister; Shirley Bunting, Mtn City, Tn. Brothers; Doug (Mac) Bunting (Connie) Walls, MS. Harold Bunting (Lynda) Mtn City, TN. Sister in Laws; Vida Bunting, Mtn City, Tn. Wilma Bunting Kingsport, TN. And Sue Bunting, Mountain City, Tn. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

A special thank you to the Staff of the Mountain City Care Center.

Funeral Services for Marjorie will be conducted on Friday October 25, 2019 at 2 pm from the Bakers Gap Baptist Church with Dennis Peterson and Bryant Collins to officiate. Visitation will be prior to the funeral from 1 until 2 pm. the Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Burial will follow in the Bakers Gap Cemetery.

Opal Bunting Susi, age 83, of 904 Avery Branch Road, Mountain City, TN passed away Friday, January 2, 2009, at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of the late Ott M. Bunting and Ina Lee Stout Bunting. She was a native of Johnson County, was of the Baptist faith. She was a homemaker and Mother. Her parents and her husband Frank P. Susi, two sons, Gary Susi and Frank P. Susi, Jr.; two sisters Kathleen Bunton and Virginia Snyder; one brother Barton Bunting, preceded her in death.

MOUNTAIN CITY - Doran E. Bunting age 86, of Mountain City passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Doran was born on January 11, 1931 to the late Ott and Ina Bunting. In addition to his parents, Doran was also preceded in death by his sisters; Opal, Virginia, and Kathleen. As well as his brothers; Fred, Marshal, Jim and Barton.

Those left to cherish Doran's memory include; his wife, Vida Snyder Bunting. Son; Doug Norris. Granddaughter; Heather Norris. Sisters; Margie Jinolfi, and Shirley Bunting. His brothers; Harold Bunting and Mack Bunting. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Doran served as a Staff Sargent in the US Air Force for 4 years. He was a member of Bakers Gap Baptist Church. Doran was an avid Farmer. He was a member of the Roan Creek Masonic Lodge #679.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7:00 P.M Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the, Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel with Dennis Peterson and James Richardson officiating. Eulogy by: Bryant Collins. Visitation will be 6 P.M until 7 P.M prior to the funeral service. Graveside services will be on Friday December 1, 2017 at 10:30 A.M Military Honors accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard will follow the funeral service. As well as Masonic Rites.

KINGSPORT – James Walter Bunting, 75, passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Mountain City on December 3, 1933, to the late Ott and Ina Bunting. He served two years in the U.S. Army. Before his retirement in 1988, he was employed in supervision with the Regional Transit Authority in Cleveland, Ohio.

He was an active member of First Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon and on various committees. Mr. Bunting was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class. He had volunteered for several years with Holston Habitat for Humanity, where he served on the Executive Board for a number of years as the Site Selection Chairman. Mr. Bunting also worked for fourteen years at the Habitat Resale Store.

He was an avid golfer and a gardener who loved sharing his garden with his friends. Mr. Bunting will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends as one who always had a warm smile and a big heart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Barton Bunting; and three sisters, Virginia Snyder, Opal Susi and Kathleen Bunton.

He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Wilma Snyder Bunting; son, Jimmy Bunting and wife, Nancy, of Mountain City; daughters, Paula Bowins and husband, Tom, of Naples, FL, and Donna Bunting, of Johnson City; grandchildren, Kieran Herrerra, Candice, Tommy and Amanda Bowins, Jason, Matthew and Dustin Bunting, Amy Augustine, Amberleigh Lawley, Tionnia Silsby and Michael Felt; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Katie, Allison, Brooklyn, Madison, Peyton, Nahaiya and Kyra; brothers, Marshall Bunting, of Babylon, NY, Fred Bunting and wife, Lydia, of Tacoma, WA, Doran Bunting and wife, Vida, Harold Bunting and wife, Linda, all of Mountain City, Mac Bunting and wife, Connie, of Walls, MS; sisters, Mary Ginolfi and Shirley Bunting, both of Mountain City; sisters-in-law, Sue Bunting, Norma Ransom and Frances Kitchell, all of Mountain City, and Eleanor Vannoy, of Bristol, TN.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at First Baptist Church on Friday at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Marvin Cameron and Dr. J. Spurgeon McCartt officiating. The eulogy will be given by Pete Morrisett.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service.

An entombment service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Sunset Memorial Park in Mountain City with Rev. Frank Ransom officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Friendship Sunday School Class.

Allen L. Snyder, 82, of 224 Allen Snyder Ln, Mountain City, Tennessee, surrounded by his family, passed away in his home on Monday December 24, 2018. Allen was born in Butler, TN on July 1, 1936, to Paul H. and Virginia Bunting Snyder. Allen is preceded in death by his parents and a special niece Jennifer Main.



Allen is a Johnson County native and graduate of Johnson County High School. After graduation, Allen went into the US Army. After discharge, Allen went to Lees-McRae College and Appalachian State University, playing football for both the Bobcats and the Mountaineers. After graduating from college, Allen returned to Johnson County where he was a teacher, coach, and administrator for 30 years. Allen also enjoyed working the land and farming, which he had plenty of time to do after he retired from teaching. When Allen was not working, he enjoyed watching Tennessee Vols sports and spending time with his grandchildren.

Those left to remember Allen are his loving wife of 57 years, Lennis Trivette Snyder; daughter Tracy Arrington and husband Pride of Glade Springs, VA; son Kent Snyder and wife Kelly of Dalton, GA; sister Mary Ann Jacobs of Butler, TN; brother John Snyder of Boone, NC; grandchildren Hannah Snyder, Mollie Snyder, Annie Kate Sapp and husband Jake, Kiley and "Lil" Pride Arrington; several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Eric and Kaleb Trivette, Joel Dugger, Marvin Arney and JL Hamby.

Allen was a member of Roan Creek Masonic Lodge F&AM #679, Jericho Shriners Temple, Tri-State Board of Directors, Farm Bureau Board of Directors, and the Johnson County Planning Commission.

Services for Allen Snyder will be held at 7 pm on Friday, December 28, 2018, in the Charlie B. Hux Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5pm – 7pm prior to the service. Military Honors will be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Wayne Ward, Tom Fortune, Brian Mink, Bradley Mink, Darren Main, and Mark Trivette

Audrey Camilla Reece, age 75, went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2022. Audrey was born on April 21, 1946 to the late Charles and Suma Reece. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several aunts, uncles, and nephew, Michael Reece.

Audrey was an avid reader and book collector. She was also a big Elvis Presley fan and collector of Elvis memorabilia. She was a great sister and wonderful aunt. Audrey was employed as a secretary for Lewis May, a former attorney and then district attorney general. Afterward she worked for over 40 years for the Johnson County Board of Education. She dearly loved her church, Valley View United Methodist Church.

Those left to cherish her memories include her sisters, Kathi Wallace, Lisha Johnson and husband Vince, Judy Billings and husband Steve; brothers, Jeffrey Reece, Charles Reece and wife Louise, Terry Reece; aunts, Mary Reece and Helen Triplett; friends, Hilda Robinson, Rita Robinson and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.



The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Anna Staples officiating. The graveside service and burial will follow at Phillippi Cemetery. Pallbearers will be friends and family.
