JOHNSON CITY - Sarah E. Toth, age 84, of Johnson City, passed away, Friday, February 2, 2018 at Broadmore Assisted Living.
A native of Johnson City, TN, she was the daughter of the late Cyrus and Lucy Vance Carr. Mrs. Toth worked for General Motors for 20 plus years in the Finance Department, then worked for Bank of America. Following retirement, Mrs. Toth worked for Massengill's in downtown Johnson City. She enjoyed gardening and her flowers. She loved canning and sewing. Mrs. Toth was a loving mother, and she loved her granddaughter, Taylor. She was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church, Johnson City.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Toth was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Joe "Bill" Toth, in May of 2017; six brothers, Roby, Joe, Elmer, Willie, Melvin, and Ernie Carr.
Survivors include her son, Keith Toth and fiancée, Janie Tipton, Jonesborough; granddaughter, Taylor Toth, Jonesborough; brother, Floyd Carr and wife, Nancy, Johnson City; sisters-in-law, Martha Carr and Carol Lowe, both of Johnson City, Brenda Carr, Kingsport; special nieces, Letha Carr and Elizabeth Perry. Other nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Toth will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 5, 2018 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Garland officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 11:00 until 1:00 P.M. in the East Parlor of the funeral home.
The graveside service and internment will be conducted at Monte Vista Memorial Park following the funeral service.
