    JONESBOROUGH/ Formerly of Kingsport - Una V. Queen Ferguson, 96, of Jonesborough formerly of Kingsport went home to be with the Lord early Sunday morning, July 15, 2018 at Four Oaks Healthcare Center in Jonesborough.

    She was born in Washington County, TN on August 26, 1921, a daughter of the late Clarence Keith and Lucy McQueen Queen and resided in Johnson City until 1970 when she married Frank and moved to Kingsport. She was a homemaker and a member of Litz Manor Baptist Church and attended Locust Street Church of Christ in Johnson City. Una was an avid camper.

    In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Ferguson; and brother Grover Queen.

    Una is survived by one niece, Gail Whistine, Jonesborough, TN; four nephews, Grover Allen Queen of Johnson City, TN, Gordon Queen and wife, Marie, of Johnson City, TN, David Lynn Queen and wife, Dianne of Johnson City, TN, and Keith Queen and wife, Kathy of Johnson City, TN; three children, Linda Long and husband, Bill of Kingsport, Kathy McNutt and husband, Tom of Kingsport, and Frank N. Ferguson, Jr. of Kingsport; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

    The family will receive friends on Wednesday (July 18, 2018) from 10-11:00am at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral service will follow at 11:00am in the chapel with Pastor Gary Addington and Minister Richard Lewis officiating.

    Burial will follow in Monte Vista Memorial Park, Johnson City, TN. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

    JOHNSON CITY - Larry Patrick "Pat" McQueen, 75, Johnson City, went to his eternal home with Jesus on Saturday morning, April 21, 2018, in the VA Community Living Center.

    Pat was a 1961 graduate of Boones Creek High School. After attending ETSU, he joined the U.S. Navy to serve his country. After serving in the Navy, he returned to Johnson City and went to work at Eastman Chemical Company, where he was employed for 31 years until he retired in 1997.

    Pat met the love of his life, Helen, and was married in June of 1968. Pat and Helen have resided in Boones Creek for the past 47 years.

    Pat was a true servant to his family, friends, neighbors and church. Above all else, he loved Jesus and shared the gospel with many others. He was a member of Boone Trail Baptist Church for the past 44 years, where he served in various roles.

    In addition to his father, James Monroe McQueen, Pat was preceded in death by: one brother, Kenneth McQueen; and step father, Ivan Hale.

    Survivors include: his wife of almost 50 years, Helen Silver McQueen; son, Scott McQueen and his wife Ashley; daughter, Ashley McQueen Lamson and her husband Doug; his mother, Edith Saylor Hale; brother Ronnie "Porky" McQueen; sister, Sherry McQueen Wells; two grandchildren, Corey Lamson and his wife Emily, and Whitney Lamson; three great grandchildren, Aiden Riner, Zoey Riner, and Palmer Lamson; and many nieces and nephews.

    The family of Pat McQueen will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday, April 25th at Boone Trial Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 7 PM with Pastors Dwight Jenkins and Wayne Bledsoe officiating. The committal service will be conducted at 10:45 AM on Thursday, April 26th at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Pallbearers include: Simms Umberger, Travis Sanders, Jaymie Jenkins, Terry Adcock, Craig Martin and Chris Muse.

    The McQueen family wants to thank the Mountain Home VA medical team and staff, particularly Dr. Hamati and Dr. Schnell. Mrs. McQueen especially wants to thank the VA Community Living Center staff. During his time there, the compassion and care he and the family received went above and beyond.

    JOHNSON CITY - Grover Allen Queen, 73 of Johnson City passed away Monday, August 16, 2021 at the residence of his son in Greensburg, Kentucky. He was a native of Johnson City and was a son of the late Grover Lee Queen and Ruby Virginia White Queen. Grover was a retired U.S. Army veteran where he had served his country during the Vietnam War. After retirement he worked for the U.S Post Office many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Looney Queen in 2013; a sister, Glenda Gail Whistine.

    Survivors include his sons, Grover Allen Queen Jr. and his wife, Linda of Greensburg, Kentucky and Michael Ray Queen and his wife, Heather of Knoxville; three brothers, Gordon Queen and wife, Marie, David Queen and wife, Linda and Keith Queen and wife, Kathy all of Johnson City; a grandson, Justin Allen Queen of Greensburg; also several nieces and nephews.

    Graveside service with Military Honors will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, August 23, 2021 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from the family and friends.

    JONESBOROUGH - Gail Queen Whistine, 70, Jonesborough, died Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at her residence following a lengthy illness.

    Gail was a Johnson City native and a lifelong resident of Johnson City and Jonesborough.

    She was the daughter of the late Grover and Ruby White Queen.

    Gail received an Associate Degree from Northeast State Technical Community College.

    She was an Industrial Lab Technician and worked at Burlington Industries for more than thirty-two years, then Fiber Innovation Technology for the past fifteen years.

    Gail was a member of Locust Street Church of Christ.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Whistine, in 2013.

    Gail is survived by two sons, Richard Whistine and wife Joy, Indianapolis, IN, and Jackie Whistine, Jonesborough; four brothers, Grover Queen, Jonesborough, Gordon Queen and wife Marie, David Queen and wife Dianah, Keith Queen and wife Kathy, all of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews.

    The funeral service will be conducted Sunday, May 26, 2019, at 2:00 P.M., from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, with Richard Lewis, Minister, and Pat Whisnant, officiating.

    Interment will follow in Washington County Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

    JOHNSON CITY - Gordon Ray Queen, 69 of Johnson City, TN, died on Wednesday January 5th 2022 at his home after a months-long battle with health complications resulting from a fall and multiple strokes.
    He is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years and dear stepmother to his sons, Cynthia “Cindy” Marie Metcalf Queen, who so lovingly and selflessly cared for Gordon during his final months; sons Sheridan Ray Queen of TN with fiancée Amber McCune and Brandon Shae Queen of KY with wife Katie; his brothers David Lynn Queen of TN with wife Linda and Clarence Keith Queen of TN with wife Kathy; grandsons Jacob Queen, Jordan “Zack” Queen, Gavin Queen, and Gabrian “Gabe” Ferren all of TN, and granddaughter Ellie Queen of KY; as well as several nieces and nephews.
    Gordon was born to Grover Lee Queen and Ruby Virginia White Queen in Johnson City, TN on October 16, 1952. In addition to his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by his beloved sister Glenda Gail Queen Whistine in 2019 at age 70, his great granddaughter Jupiter Queen in 2021 at 4 months old, and his brother Grover Allen Queen in 2021 at age 73.
    Gordon was an exceptionally hard worker, spending most of his vocational years in the construction trade, faithfully and unwaveringly providing and caring for his family. He had a quick wit, was extremely handy, was fiercely loyal, a natural conversationalist, a great cook, and a famous prankster and jokester, relishing the opportunity to make others laugh. He enjoyed watching car races, going fishing and hunting, and spending quality time with loved ones – especially on his front porch.
    Per Gordon’s wishes, in lieu of public services a private gathering will be held for immediate family to honor his life.
