    ELIZABETHTON — Carla Jean Reece, 60 Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday July 19, 2011, in the Ivy Hall Nursing Home.

    A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Carl W. and Pansy Nell Stout Long. Carla was a 1969 graduate of Unaka High School. She was formerly employed as a Vocational Aide at Unaka High School and also at the Hunter First Baptist Day Care in the after school program.

    Carla was a member of the Lynn Valley Baptist Church. She loved to read, also read the Bible and loved her family.

    Survivors include Two Daughters & Sons-In-law: Kristie and Matt Carr and Cindy & Michael Carlock, all of Elizabethton; Two Granddaughters: Mattie Carr and Hannah Carlock; A sister & brother-in-law: Peggy & Terry Morrell, Charlotte, North Carolina; A brother & sister-in-law: Carl & Barbara Long, Elizabethton; Her special nieces & nephews; Her ex-husband and friend, Dwight Reece; Her best friend and canine companion, "Precious."

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Wilson officiating.

    Graveside Service and Interment will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2011, in the Ensor Cemetery. Music will be provided by Barbara Long. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. Sunday, will be: Matt Carr, Carl Long, Andrew Long, Terry Morrell, Adam Asher, Dave Asher, Herbie Adams and Patrick Nave. Honorary Pallbearers will be Her Church Family, her special cousins and her good friends and neighbors.

    The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to the Staff & Employees of Ivy Hall Nursing Home for their excellent love and care of our mother and also her special friends for their many visits.
