DAVID FAIR
David Fair, (better known as Friday Fair) well known resident of Elizabethton died at his home on First street early this morning.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Freewill Baptist church Sunday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock with the Rev. Clarence Howington in charge. Interment will be in the Carter cemetery (Siam Road).
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. David Fair; four daughters, Mrs. Mae Burrow, Mrs. Jack Walker, and Mrs. Retta Heaton, all of Elizabethton, and Mrs. Troy Bowers, Siam; four brothers, James Fair, of California, John, Nome, and William Fair, Elizabethton; three sisters, Mrs. Rufus Miller, Washington, D. C., Mrs. Nat Honeycutt, of Indiana, and Mrs. Marion Forbes, Elizabethton; also 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Fair was a member of the Freewill Baptist church.
Pall-bearers[sic] and flower-bearers[sic] will be selected from friends attending the funeral.
The body will be removed from the North Funeral Home to the family residence on First street this afternoon.

JAMES FAIR
Funeral services for James Fair, 26, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Fair, who died Sunday morning at 11 o'clock at his home, were held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the residence by the Rev. Clarence Howington with interment in the Carter grave yard.
Young Fair was found badly burned near the Watauga river bridge Saturday by the driver of a bakery truck. He was picked up and taken to his home where his condition was reported serious. Yesterday he developed pneumonia fever resulting in his death.
Fair is said to have been in company with Ike Blevins and Doodle Burrow, fishing in the Watauga. They had a bon fire and it is believed that he either fell or was pushed in some unexplained way, into the blaze, his clothes and body being badly seared.
Survivors include the father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Fair; four sisters, Analine, Novell, Retia and Mrs. Mag Burrow; and one brother, Ben Fair.
Pallbearers included W. C. Forbes, Herman Lodge, Lynn Fair, Bill Lee, Lonnie Martin and Milton Estep.
Flower bearers: Eddie Roberson, Fabie McKinney, Blanch Howington, Emma Bowers, Etta Hoss and Orgie Winebarger.

BEN FAIR TAKEN BY DEATH AFTER LENGTHY ILLNESS
Funeral services for Ben Fair, 35, who died at his home on First street Wednesday morning at 10:45, after a long illness, were held from the home this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. Elmer DeLoach and the Rev. Clarence Howington officiating. Burial was made in the Carter Cemetery.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Ben Fair; four children, Grady, Dana, Wayne and Carolyn Fair; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dave L. Fair; four sisters, Mrs. Novella Walker, Mrs. Retta Heaton, Mrs. Mae Burr and Anna Lee Fair.
Pall bearers[sic] and flower bearers were selected from friends at the funeral.

Notes:

Dorothy Lee Burrow, 90, of Elizabethton, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018.
Dorothy was the daughter of the late Frank and Lillie Mae Burrow. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Edwin Burrow, and her sister, Vivian Hopson.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Bernice Burrow, and several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy loved country music, people and animals. She was always content in every situation she was in. She was always ready for a laugh, seeing humor in the smallest of matters. She just desired that her memory be cherished.
Dorothy's last years were at Signature Health Care in Elizabethton and the family would like to "thank them" for all the love and care they gave to Dorothy along with the staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital.

ELIZABETHTON - Grady Ben Fair, 89, Elizabethton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 1, 2016 in the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Ben & Ida Nell Estep Fair. Grady proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was retired from the Dairy Business having owned and operated Farm Best Dairy for several years. He was an active member of East River Park Christian Church where he was a greeter and he was the candy man for the children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Norma Lowe Fair, two brothers: Dana & Wayne Fair and one sister: Carolyn Runnion.

He is survived by his second wife: Lavelle "Bo" Hopson Fair; Son Steve & Ruth Ann Fair (Ben, Tim & Sarah), Daughter: Susan & Kenton Farr (Kelly, Nick), Son: David (Hunter & Chase). Two Step-sons: Danny Gourley, Rutledge, Tenn. and Richard Gourley, of Florida. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, September 4, 2016 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. John H. Smith, and Nick Farr Ministers officiating. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park with Steve, Ben & Tim Fair officiating. Music will be provided by Kenneth Hartley and Mary Smith. Active Pallbearers will be: Nick Farr, Ben Fair, Tim Fair, Hunter Fair, Chase Fair, Steven Daugherty, and Reid Bishop. Honorary Pallbearers will be member of East River Park Men's Sunday School Class, Milt Fair, Brandon Gourley and Shane Gourley. Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at his residence.

Grady married Lavelle Hopson about 1990. Lavelle (daughter of Walter E. Hopson and Amanda Elsie Pleasant) was born about 1928 in Carter County, , , Tennessee; died on 2 Sep 2018 in Grainger County, , , Tennessee; was buried in Happy Valley Memorial Park, , Carter County, Tennessee.
