    Jean Williams - JOHNSON CITY
    Mrs. Jean Chambers Williams, Johnson City, died Monday, September 6, 2004, in the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following a lengthy illness. A native of Carter County, Mrs. Williams was a daughter of the late D.M. Chambers Sr. and Martha Ellis Chambers. Mrs. Williams was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Susanna Wesley Sunday School Class of the church. Mrs. Williams was a sustaining member of the Johnson City Junior League. Her husband, Bailey E. Williams Jr., preceded her in death in 1985. She was also preceded in death by one brother, D.M. Chambers Jr.; and three sisters, Myrtle C. Grindstaff, Vorita Chambers Isaacs and Florence “Jack” Chambers Smith. Survivors include two daughters, Suzanne Moore and husband, Dwight, of Gray, and Lisa Pendleton and husband, Dave, of Kingsport; one sister, Katharyn C. Noble, of Johnson City; grandchildren, Mark E. Moore, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Lauren K. Pendleton, of Kingsport; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Mrs. Williams will be held Thursday, September 9, 2004, at 11:00 A.M. from Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Garland Thayer officiating.

    Katharyn Chambers Noble, age 92, of 216 University Parkway 3W, Johnson City, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at her residence.

    A native of Carter County, TN, she was a daughter of the late D.M. Chambers Sr. and Martha Evelyn Ellis Chambers. Mrs. Noble was member of East Unaka Christian Church.

    She is preceded in death by her husband, A.P Noble, in 1975; four sisters, Vorita Chambers Isaacs, Myrtle Chambers Grindstaff, Florence "Jack" Chambers Smith, Jean Chambers Williams; one brother, D.M. Chambers Jr.

    Survivors include a step-daughter, Carol Braum and husband, Dick, Miami, FL; three step grandchildren; six nieces, Martha Nell Smith Estes, Joan Smith McQueen, Suzanne Williams Moore, Lisa Williams Pendleton and Mary Duke Chambers McCartt; one nephew, D.M. Chambers III; sister-in-law, Teenie Duke Chambers. Several very special great nieces and nephews.

    The graveside service for Mrs. Noble will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Wayne Emery, Minister, officiating.

    The family will receive friends Saturday, March 13, from 10:00 until 11:30 A.M. at East Unaka Christian Church. Active pallbearers will be Mark Moore, Gary Carmack, Jim Hoffman and David Maxwell Chambers IV.

    JOHNSON CITY - Nancy G. Collins, age 85, of Johnson City, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, February 25, 2019.

    Nancy was the daughter of the late W. Dudley and Myrtle Grindstaff.

    She was a graduate of University of Tennessee and a retired dietician from Johnson City Medical Center.

    In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Frank C. Collins in 2013 and grandchildren, David Noah & Hannah Grace Hoffman.

    Nancy is survived by daughters, Clark Collins of Johnson City, Eve Hoffman and husband Jim of Roswell, GA, and Elizabeth Carmack and husband Gary of Johnson City, several cousins, nieces, nephews and sister in law, Sandra Collins.

    Nancy's family wishes to thank the staff of Amedisys. It is with deepest gratitude and love that they would also like to extend a very special thank you to Jodi Shaffer, Michelle Crowell and Chaplain Steven Spell.

    Nancy requested a graveside service to be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend are requested to meet at the cemetery by 1:50 P.M.

    In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial to the Handbell Ministry at Munsey MUMC.

    Pallbearers will be Andy Gouge, Alan Collins, Tom Collins, Todd Denton, Phil Booher, Jeff Carroll. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Virgil Anderson Sunday school class.
