EDWARD HINKLE, 73, Succumbs
Edward Carter Hinkle, 73, died unexpectedly at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Annie Cornett, 316 Friday Street, Thursday at 10:10 a.m. He was a member of the Methodist Church and formerly served as constable for 32 years of the old 7th district.
He is survived by two sons, Worley F. Hinkle of 104 Donna Avenue, and James Chrisley Hinkle of 206 Graham Avenue; three daughters, Mrs. Annie Cornett, Elizabethton, Mrs. Hattie Vance of Bristol, and Mrs. Erma Crowe of Siam Road; 11 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Lottie Perry and Mrs. Minnie Teague both of Elizabethton, and Mrs. Sannie Taylor of Johnson City; and one brother, William Hinkle of Elizabethton.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Wesleyan Methodist Church Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Robert E. Rice officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery.
The body will remain in the chapel of the Tetrick Funeral Home until 12:30 p.m. Saturday when it will be moved to the church.
