    MRS. SIDNEY E. PLEASANT
    Mrs. Sidney E. Pleasant, 87, of Johnson City, died Friday morning, March 18, leaving 135 direct descendants. The funeral was held at Doe Valley Baptist Church Sunday, March 20, with Rev. Clarence Nelson and Rev. Hill Brumett officiating. Grandsons served as pallbearers and granddaughters as flower bearers.
    Survivors include three children, Mrs. Lula Kirby of Johnson City, Mrs. Rollie Blevins of Coal City, W.Va., and Dan Pleasant of Olympia, Washington; 45 grandchildren; 80 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

    BEN H. PLEASANT
    Ben H. Pleasant was born Dec. 12,1888; died March 4, 1946. He professed faith in Christ in 1932, and belonged to the Doe Valley Baptist Church until his death. He was married to Hina[sic] Lowe on April 22, 1916. Mrs. Pleasant preceding him in death on March 2, 1930. To this union eight children were born; four having died in infancy.
    Surviving are: Mrs. Doran Lowe, Mountain City; Mrs. Cecil Cornett, Kingsport; Charles of the navy and Estol of the army.
    Mr. Pleasant was married to Belle Lowe in 1930, and she, too, preceded him in death, August 9, 1941. Four children were born to this union: Pansey and Roxie Pleasant and Bennie and Joe, all of Mountain City.
    His aged mother, Mrs. Sidney Pleasant, Johnson City, survives; also three sisters, Mrs. R. A. Lee, Mountain City; Mrs. Sallie Blevins, Coal City, W.Va., and Mrs. Lula Kirby of Johnson City. Two brothers are left: Dan of Olympia, Wash., and Rance of Indiana.
    A granddaughter and a number of nieces and nephews are also left to mourn his passing.
    The death angel has again visited and taken from his church and community a valuable member and citizen.

    Lois Myrtle Wilson, age 81, passed away on June 20, 2022, at her home. Lois was born March 18, 1941 to the late Walter and Ella Mae Roberts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, JC Wilson, four sisters, and five brothers.

    Lois loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and taking care of them was her greatest joy. She was a simple woman that loved her family and gardening.

    Those left to cherish her memories include her brother, Johnny Roberts (Ilene); special friends, Buddy and Lois Stout; daughter, Nancy Bunting (Jim); sons, JC Wilson Jr. “Bo” (Joyce), Mike Wilson (Linda); grandchildren, Aimee Nelson (Bill Habermann), Matthew Bunting (Megan), Amber Lawley (Josh), Dustin Bunting (Ashley), Brayden Hawkins, Gabriel Silsby, Lilyanna Silsby, Kim Collins (Chris), Danielle Trivett (Adam), Muhlayla Wilson, Gabe Wilson, Gus Wilson, Jacinda Triplett (John), Brian Hopson; special grand fur baby, JAKE; great grandchildren, Cody Jennings (Heather), Katy Jennings (Robert), Ally Augustine, Peyton Bunting, Jaycee Bunting, Kaden Webb, Zander Webb, Brooklyn Lawley, Skyelyn Lawley, Jordan Lawley, Bella Bunting, Colten Bunting, Jordan Hopson (Amber), Camron Hopson (Laurel), Carrie Berry (Taylor), Addi Collins, Emma Collins, Rylee Collins, Callie Trivett, Lane Trivett; one great great grandson and one great great granddaughter on the way.

    The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with John Brookshire and Danny Cullop officiating. The burial will follow at the JC Wilson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Bunting, Dustin Bunting, Adam Trivett, Chris Collins, Cody Jennings, Josh Lawley, Robert Gwinn, and Brian Hopson. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Pierre Triozzi and Dr. Jim Shine.

    It is with great sadness that the family of Norman Craig Pleasant announces his passing on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at his residence at the age of 62. Norman was born in Johnson County, Tennessee, on May 3, 1959. He was the son of the late Estel Pleasant and Loveta Shipley Pleasant. He was also proceeded in death by two brothers, Doug and Wendell Pleasant.
    Norman was a carpenter, loved lawn work, being in the outdoors, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
    Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters; Priscilla Lowe (Matthew), Brittany Evans (Gary), three sisters; Mildred Eastridge (Joe), Sharon Merryman (Doug), and Jackie Thomas (Larry), a brother; Anthony Pleasant (Kathy), seven grandchildren; Brayden, Bryson, and Piper Lowe, Paislee, Violet, CoraLeigh, and Millie Evans, close friends; Angie Johnson and Cheryl Ann Lindsey, his one true love and the mother of his children; Tammy Cress Arnold. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
    A graveside service for Norman will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the Phillippi Cemetery with his Brother Anthony Pleasant to officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Hux & Lipford Funeral Home and then go in procession for the graveside service.
    His pallbearers will be; Matthew Lowe, Gary Evans, Joe Eastridge, Doug Merryman, Larry Thomas, Joey Eastridge, Paul Johnson, and Steven Puddy Pardue.
