    Etta Hamm - ELIZABETHTON
    Etta Moore Hamm, age 88, formerly of 111 Allen Dr., Jonesborough, TN, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, June 22, 2004 in Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. She was born in Unicoi County, TN, and was a daughter of the late Jake and Mary Tolley Davis. She was a member of Westerly Heights Baptist Church in Johnson City, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Walter A. Moore Sr.; a son Walter A. Moore Jr.; two brothers; and one sister. Survivors include her husband, Fields H. Hamm, of Life Care Center of Elizabethton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Clyde and Eva Moore, of Hampton, William and Edith Moore, of Unicoi; two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Helen Davis, of Greeneville, Ray and Eva Davis, of Johnson City; and one sister, Rachel Jackson, of York PA. Ten grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Etta Moore Hamm will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2004, in the Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel of Peace with Rev. Jerry Hall officiating. Music will be under the direction of Edna Waycaster. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home, and at other times at the residence of a son, Clyde Moore, 136 Morton Rd., Hampton, TN. Graveside service and interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2004, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be John Henson, Hubert Coleman, Christopher Lovelace, Bobby Hash, Dana Brackins, Lowell Shell and Dwight Hartley. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Westerly Heights Baptist Church, the Carter County Sheriff's Department and City of Gold Drama Cast. Special thanks are extended to Margaret Bowers, Lou Campbell and Tammy Hyder of Life Care Center of Elizabethton, and to a very special nephew and niece, Dwight and Alene Hartley.     WESTLAKE, Ohio – Mr. Ray Davis, age 88, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at the Fairview Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.

    Mr. Davis was born on October 29, 1921, to the late Jake and Mary Tolley Davis. He was a Unicoi County native, where he had lived until he joined the Navy in 1940. Mr. Davis married Eva Letta McInturff in 1945.

    His military service spanned from 1940 to 1962, when he retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer E-9. During his time with the Navy, he lived in Honolulu, Hawaii, Annapolis, Maryland, Norfolk and Arlington, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

    After his military retirement, Mr. Davis worked as a Logistics Management Specialist for the Department of the Navy and Naval Sea Systems Command as a federal employee in the Washington, D.C., area. Upon completing thirty-eight years with the government, which included his military and civilian service, he retired as a GS-14 Logistics Specialist and moved back to Johnson City, Tennessee, in 1979.

    Ray and Eva were members of the Unicoi United Methodist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. He also attended Piney Grove Freewill Baptist Church.

    In 2009, Mr. Davis moved to a retirement center in Westlake, Ohio, to be closer to his family

    In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Letta McInturff Davis, on August 24, 2004; infant daughters, Cathy Lea Davis and Carol Lynne Davis; step-mother, Maude Ramsey Davis; two brothers, Jess Ernest Davis and Clyde J. Davis; three sisters, Etta Davis Moore, Hazel Davis Browder and Rachel Davis Jackson.

    Survivors include his three daughters, Linda Jean Nutter and husband, Franklin, McLean, Virginia, Peggy Ann Reeves and husband, Joel, Springfield, Virginia, Pennie Marie Gray and husband, Gerald, Westlake, Ohio; Five loving grandchildren, Alycia Nutter Kiley and husband, James, Aaron Nutter, Shannon Reeves, Daniel Gray and Allison Gray; His brother, Reverend George Davis and wife, Helen; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

    The family will celebrate Mr. Davis' life by receiving friends at Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 6, 2010, with funeral service to follow. Reverend J.Todd Kingrea will officiate. Music will be provided by Pat Vanover and Martha Piner.

    Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Swingle Cemetery, Unicoi.

    Rev. George Clinton (G.C.) Davis, age 86, passed away Sunday morning, May 22, 2011, at Takoma Hospital.

    He touched many lives throughout all East Tennessee, ministering over 63 years, to young and old, rich and poor. He never met a stranger. Pastoring people was his life, and he loved telling people about Jesus. He pastored several churches in Tennessee, Nebraska, and Louisiana.

    He is survived by his faithful loving wife of 65 years, Helen Arrowood Davis; son and daughter-in-law David and Glenda Davis of Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law Rev. Rick and Susan Bradbury of Morristown; grandsons and wives, Daniel and Kristen Davis of Telford, Paul and Whitney Bradbury of Knoxville, and John and Shannon Bradbury of Rutledge; great-grandchildren Zeke, Caleb, Noah, Asaph, Joel, Corrie, and Phillip.

    He was the son of the late Jake and Mary Tolley Davis. He was also preceded in death by great-grandson Patrick Bradbury; brothers Ray, Clyde, and Ernest; and sisters Etta Moore, Rachel Jackson, and Hazel Browder.

    He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of West Side Church of God.

    The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The body will be taken to Russellville Church of God Thursday, where the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. preceding the home going celebration at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Tracy Colley, Rev. Gene Pendland, and Tony Winkler will officiate.

    Interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. Friday at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. It is requested that family and friends meet at the cemetery by 10:50 a.m. for the committal service.

    His pallbearers will be Daniel Davis, Paul Bradbury, John Bradbury, Bobby Flowers, Anthony Macey, and Brian Davis.
