    Notes:

    Arthur Glen Johnson enlisted in the US Army on 21 Jan 1902 and was discharged on Angel Island, California on 30 Jan 1905. During that period, he was assigned to the 22nd Infantry Regiment. This Regiment was deployed to The Philippines to fight in the Philippine-American War during 1900-1905. It is very likely that Arthur Glen Johnson served in the conflict.

    Glen was born in Taylorsville (Mountain City), Tennessee.
    21 Jan 1902, he enlisted in the army. His service was in the 28th and 22nd United States Infantry, which served in the Philippines. He was discharged at Angel Island, CA on 30 Jan 1905.
    On 17 Sept 1905 he and Oma Payne were married by Cpt Thomas J. Barry, JP (he had served in the Union army, Civil War).
    Glen and Oma had 3 children: Georgia Marie, Orville Emory, and Julia Beatrice "Little Bee" (Little Bee was not born until after the move to Oregon).
    Glen (as did some of his brothers) took his family out west. He first managed a wheat ranch in Condon, Oregon. When the owner of the ranch died, Glen moved on to Montana to get in on the Gold Rush (which ended not many years hence). The family lived in Whitcomb, Montana (a mining town near Zortman). During this time, Glen contracted blood poisoning. He died as he was being transported via stagecoach to a doctor. Glen is buried in Whitcomb, Montana, but no information has been given to indicate exactly where.

    Arthur married Oma Payne on 17 Sep 1905 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee. Oma (daughter of George McHenry Payne and Susannah Melvina "Susan" Stout) was born on 9 Mar 1883 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee; died on 5 Jul 1977 in Johnson County, , , Tennessee; was buried on 9 Jul 1977 in Sunset Memorial Park, , Johnson County, Tennessee.     MOUNTAIN CITY - Miss Georgia Marie Johnson, age 99, of Mountain City, passed away Monday, February 6, 2006, at Watauga Medical Center. Miss Johnson was a lifelong resident of Johnson County and was a daughter of the late Arthur Glenn and Oma Payne Johnson. She was a retired school teacher and taught in the Johnson County School System and Bristol Tennessee School System. She was a member of the Johnson County Retired Teachers Association, member of the Johnson County Historical Society, and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. Georgia was an accomplished artist and author. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Beatrice Johnson; and a brother, Orville Johnson. Survivors included her cousins of the Johnson and Payne Families and her many friends. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2006, at the First United Methodist Church with the service to follow at 1 p.m. with James Hutchinson, Minister, and the Rev. Larry Rye officiating. Pallbearers will be men of First United Methodist Church. The interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
