CELIA WILLIAMS BUCKLES
Celia Williams Buckles, age 89, died at home of her son, F. T. Buckles, on Blue Springs Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m. after a short illness.
Mrs. Buckles was the mother of ten children; and she is survived by two sons, A. F. and F. T. Buckles, both of Elizabethton; two brothers, Everette Williams of Hampton and Samuel Williams of Elizabethton; and one sister, Mrs. Ida Vaughn of Elizabethton. Her husband T. J. Buckles, preceded her in death seventeen years ago.
Funeral services were conducted from the Caldwell Springs Baptist church this afternoon at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. Arthur Roberts and Rev. T. B. Freeman in charge. Interment will be in Buckles cemetery.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons, Carmack Danner, Claude, Clay, J. N., Eston, and Gene Buckles. Flowerbearers[sic] will be the granddaughters.

Ray W. Williams, 89, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2009, in the Hillview Health Center.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late A.V. & Sarah "Sadie" Elliott Williams. He was a graduate of Unaka High School and attended Steed College of Johnson City.

He was a retired Machinist from Bristol Compressors. Mr. Williams served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Williams was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church, where he had served as Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher, Trustee and Deacon for several years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Fannon Williams, November 17, 2003; by a son, James Williams, in 1970; four brothers: Roy, Twin brother Clay, Jones and Herman Williams; and Three Sisters: Gladys Williams, Ruth Longmire and June Perry.

Survivors include a son: Billy Ray Williams, Johnson City; A daughter: Kathryn Williams, of Virginia; Several Nieces & Nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2009, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bruce Hendrich and Rev. Bob Polk officiating.

Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be Deacons of Oak Street Baptist Church. Honorary Pallbearers will be his church family.

MEADOWVIEW, Va. - Vern Williams, 86, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at his residence.
He was born in Carter County, Tenn., and had lived most of his life in Washington County. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Damascus and loved his Sunday school class very much.
He served his country proudly and with honor in the U. S. Navy during World War II. While in the Navy, he was a featherweight boxing champion. He was a retired fitter welder with Bristol Metals. While employed there, he was very instrumental with the construction of the Bristol Va./Tenn. sign on State Street.
He was a farmer who loved to garden and enjoyed going to the farmer's market. He was an avid reader who enjoyed reading Appalachian history. He also loved his faithful Labrador Retriever, Foxxy.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Nannie L. Williams; 2 sisters; and 11 brothers.
He is survived by his son, Vernie Williams and wife Sue of Meadowview; four daughters, Jane Day and husband Randall of Sparta, Tenn., Donna Fuller and husband Jimmy of Damascus, Suzanne McGlocklin of Bristol, Va., and Kim Parks of Bristol, Va.; one brother, Lester Williams of Londonberry, N.H.; one sister, Pauline Richardson of Grand Prairie, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be conducted Friday, June 26, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service, with Pastor David Matlock officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. The committal service will be conducted Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Greenfield Baptist Church Cemetery, with Pastor Wayne Guinn officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Highlands Veteran's Honor Guard. Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the First Baptist Church men's Sunday school class.

ELIZABETHTON — Jones E. Williams, age 93, 129 Harry Buckles Rd., Elizabethton went to be with The Lord on Sunday, January 1, 2006, in the James A. Quillen V.A. Medical Center, Johnson City, following a lengthy illness. He was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Armstrong and Sadie Sarah Elliott Williams. Mr. Williams was a very active member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church and had served as church clerk, Sunday School superintendent, teacher, Bible School director and also printed the church bulletin. Mr. Williams’ Sunday School Class, the Jones Williams Sunday School Class, was named in his honor. He retired from North American Rayon Corporation. He was a licensed electrician. Mr. Williams was a 1st Sergeant in the U.S. Army having served during WW II in both the European and Pacific Theaters. In 1935 till 1938 Mr. Williams served in the 11th Medical Regiment at Schofield Barracks in Oahu, Hawaii. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of fifty-four years, Kate Buckles Williams, three sisters, June Perry, Ruth Longmire, Gladys Williams, and two brothers, Roy Williams and Herman Williams. Mr. Williams was a devoted father to his family which includes two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Garry Holly, Julie and Bill Tetrick, one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Tonie Williams, all of Elizabethton, a loving and perfect papaw to his six granddaughters, Ronda Greaves, Tonya Hardy, Jessica Storie, Erica Holly, Ashley Tetrick, Christen Williams and his grandson, Jared Tetrick, one great-granddaughter, McKenzie Storie, one brother, Ray Williams, Elizabethton and one special niece, Gail Buckles. A funeral service for Mr. Williams will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday in the Caldwell Springs Baptist Church with Dr. William Duncan and Rev. James Hawk officiating. Music will be under the direction of The Smith Sisters, Debbie Gouge, Larry Stout and David Long, soloist. Interment will follow in the Buckles Cemetery with Rev. Clayton Briggs officiating. Full military honors will be accorded at the graveside. The family will receive friends from 6:00 till 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. ELIZABETHTON — Mr. Eugene F. (Jack) Buckles, formerly of 159 Buckles Road, Elizabethton, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton.

He was born on December 13, 1921, to the late Frank and Emma Buckles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Juanita G. Buckles; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Pearl and Luther Buckles and Effie and Carmack Danner; two brothers, Clay Buckles and Claude Buckles. He was a native of Carter County, TN.

Mr. Buckles was a life-long farmer in the Blue Springs Community of Carter County, he also served in the United States Army and saw combat in Europe during WWII. He was employed at North American Rayon Corporation for many years and served two terms on the Carter County Commission. He was a member of the Blue Springs Christian Church.

Mr. Buckles was fond of bluegrass music, gospel music and old time fiddle tunes. One of his favorite songs was "What a Day That Will Be" with which he often sang along. He especially enjoyed the gospel music of Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver.

Mr. Buckles is survived by four children: Vivian Hammonds, Wayne L. Buckles, Barbara Jean Lotshaw, all of Elizabethton, and Debbie Dotson, of Watauga; two sons-in-law, Howard Hammonds and Mark Dotson; four grandchildren, Melanie Harkleroad and husband, Tim, of Bristol, Nathan Arnold and wife, Shelley, of Norman, OK, Frank Arnold and wife, Caryn, of Tulsa, OK, Dustin Buckles and wife, Jessica, Elizabethton; five great-grandchildren, Martin and Sarah Harkleroad, Bristol, Mason, Haley and Brett Arnold, Norman, OK; brothers and sisters-in-law, H.J. and Helen Buckles, Ivan Buckles, Earl and Helen Buckles, Elizabethton, Paul and Peggy Buckles, of Mt. Carmel, TN; sisters, Margaret Garland, of Casco, MI, Edith Buckles and Myrtle Pierce, Elizabethton, Brenda and Bill Taylor, of Johnson City; sisters-in-law, Georgia Buckles, of Bristol, and Myrtle Buckles, Elizabethton; and a special brother-in-law, Harold Grindstaff, of Goode, VA. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, neighbors, including his church families and his friends at Big Red's also survive.

The funeral service for Mr. Buckles will be conducted Thursday, July 15, 2010, at 7:00 PM in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, Elizabethton with Mr. Richard Thomason, minister, and Dr. William Duncan officiating.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday prior to the service and at 1331 Blue Springs Road at other times.

The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Friday, July 16, 2010, at 10:00 AM at the Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tennessee. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Blue Springs Christian Church, the men of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church, "Big Red" Carrier and the regular attendees of the Liar's Club. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:00 AM on Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.

ELIZABETHTON — Mrs. Edith Grace Buckles, 87, formerly of 189 Rainbow Circle, Elizabethton, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2011.

She was the daughter of the late Frank and Emma Buckles and was born in Carter County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Buckles, in 1986; three brothers; and two sisters-in-law, Clay and Georgia Buckles, Claude Buckles, Eugene and Juanita Buckles; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Luther and Pearl Buckles, Carmack and Effie Danner; two brothers-in-law, Elwood Garland, Guerney Pierce; a sister-in-law, Ella Mae Buckles.

Mrs. Buckles was a homemaker and a partner in the Floyd Buckles Sales Company. She was a devoted member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church. She loved her friends in the Willing Workers Sunday School Class there.

She was a loving aunt who will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by four brothers, H.J. Buckles and his wife, Helen, Elizabethton, Ivan Buckles; Elizabethton, Earl Buckles and his wife, Helen, Elizabethton; Paul Buckles and his wife, Peggy, Mt. Carmel; three sisters, Margaret Garland, Casco, MI, Myrtle Pierce, Elizabethton, Brenda Taylor and her husband, Bill, Johnson City; a sister-in-law, Myrtle Buckles; her special friend and caregiver, Wilma Bowers; and her roommate and friend, Charlotte Walker. A host of nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service for Mrs. Buckles will be conducted on Saturday, August 27, 2011, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. William Lunsford, Rev. William Taylor and Dr. William Duncan officiating. Music will be under the direction of Tina Lunsford and Headed Home.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 1:00-2:00 PM Saturday prior to the service and at the home of a sister, Myrtle Pierce, 233 Berry Hill Road, Elizabethton, at other times.

H.J. Buckles, 87, of Elizabethton, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, August 15, 2016, from Sycamore Shoals Hospital. H.J. was born in Carter County to the late Frank "F.T." Buckles and Emma Buckles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Edith Buckles, Pearl Buckles, Margaret Garland and Effie Danner; his first wife, Ella Mae Buckles; and five brothers, Clay Buckles, Gene Buckles, Claude Buckles, Earl Buckles and Ivan Buckles.
H.J. had worked as both a bus driver and a farmer. He was a member of Willow Springs Baptist Church and attended Meadowview Baptist Church. H.J. loved gardening and will be missed by everyone that knew him.

Ivan Charles Buckles, 81, Elizabethton passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013, at his residence.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Frank and Emma Buckles.

Mr. Buckles was employed for a number of years by the Carter County Sheriff Department. He was also a farmer. He was a member of the Carter County Cattleman Association.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters: Pearl Buckles, Effie Danner and Edith Buckles; and four brothers: Clay, Claude, Eugene and Earl Buckles.

Mr. Earl C. Buckles, 76, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital, following an extended illness.

He was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Frank and Emma Buckles. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack Buckles, Clay Buckles and Claude Buckles; three sisters, Effie Danner, Pearl Buckles and Edith Buckles.

Mr. Buckles was retired from East Tennessee Chair Company and had served as a constable for the Carter County Sheriff's Department.

Shirley Buckles Younce of Buckeye, Ariz. (formerly of Elizabethton), was born March 21, 1917 in Elizabethton, Tenn., and passed away at 97 years of age on June 8, 2014, in Buckeye, Ariz. She was preceded in death by husband Grant in December 2008 and siblings Clyde, Ross and Flo Buckles and Cora Wolfe.
She is survived by daughter Beverly and husband Larry Lauchner of Fresno, Calif.; son Max Younce and wife Karren of Stanfield, Ariz.; sister Reta Buckles of Stoney Creek, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Reta Vera Buckles, 95, of Elizabethton, went to be with her Lord on Sunday January 11, 2015, at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital.
Reta lived all her life in Elizabethton, TN. She was a member of the first graduating class of Unaka High School. She was retired from Sperry Univac in Bristol and a member of Unaka Baptist Church in Elizabethton.
Before she became sick she loved to garden, quilt, and most of all cook for her family and friends and was known as one of the best cooks in the community. She lived such a full and blessed life of 95 years; she loved her brothers, sisters and all her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Henry and Mossie Cole Buckles; two brothers, Ross and Clyde Buckles; three sisters, Shirley Younce, Cora Wolfe and Florine Buckles.
She is survived by a nephew, Jeff Buckles, (Sheila), Elizabethton; her great nephew, Adam Buckles, Elizabethton, who helped care for her; great-niece, Lynsey Buckles. Additional survivors include other nephews, Lynn Buckles (Janene), Richmond, KY, David Buckles, Nashville, Dale Buckles, Elizabethton, Bryan Buckles, (Lynn), Fredericksburg, VA, Max Younce, (Karen), AZ, and Eddie Wolfe (Betty), Butler; nieces, Beverly Younce Lauchner (Larry), Fresno, CA; and Vickie Wolfe, Butler. BUTLER — Cora B. Wolfe, age 89, of Butler, Tennessee, passed away at the Johnson City Medical Center on Monday, September 5th, 2011.

She was a daughter of the late Henry Buckles and Mossie Cole Buckles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Wolfe; a sister: Florine Buckles; two brothers: Ross and Clyde Buckles.

Mrs. Wolfe was a member of the Sugar Grove Baptist Church and she enjoyed sewing, gardening and basket weaving.

She is survived by a daughter: Vickie Wolfe, South Charleston, West Virginia; Son: Eddie Wolfe and wife, Betty, of Butler, Tennessee; One grandson: Jason Wolfe and wife, Kristy, of Butler, Tennessee; Great Grandson: Luke Wolfe, Butler, Tennessee; Two sisters: Shirley Younce, of Buckeye, Arizona, and Reta Buckles, of Elizabethton, Tennessee; Caregiver: Jane Ward, Butler, Tennessee. Funeral services for Cora B. Wolfe were conducted Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at 8:00 p.m. from the Charles B. Hux Memorial Chapel of the Hux Lipford Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Morefield and Rev. Tim Tapp officiating.

JOHNSON CITY - J.N. Buckles, age 94, of Johnson City, Tennessee went home to be the Lord on Thursday, October 24, 2019 from Agape Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.


J.N. was born in Carter County, Tennessee to the late Alfred and Abbygail Nave Buckles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Lee Nave Buckles; his brothers, Harry Buckles, Eston Buckles, Tommy Buckles and Brown Buckles; and his sisters, Vera Buckles, Ella Buckles and Kate Buckles Williams.

J.N. retired as a Lieutenant with the Tennessee State Police, following 33 years of service. He was a private man and very dedicated to Public Service. J.N. was of the Baptist faith and was a United States Marine veteran, having served during World War II. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Johnson City Masonic Lodge No. 486. J.N. was a member of York Rite of Johnson City and of the Scottish Rite, of Knoxville and was a founding member of Jericho Shrine, member of National Troopers Association and a member of Tennessee Retired Officers Association. He also enjoyed watching U.T. games and growing up on the family farm.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Gail Buckles, of Elizabethton, TN and Debbie Harrison (Steve Eischen- fiancé), of Johnson City, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to honor the life of J.N. Buckles will be conducted at 7:00 Pm on Saturday, October 26, 2019 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Dr. William Duncan, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Saturday or at the residence of either daughter, at other times. Masonic Rites will be accorded after the service. The Tennessee Honor Guard will assist in the service.

The graveside service will be conducted at 3:30 PM on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Military honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Kate B. Williams, age 72, 129 Harry Buckles Road, Elizabethton, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday afternoon, April 6, 2004, following a brief illness.
A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Abbagail Nave Buckles.
Mrs. Williams was a 1948 graduate of Unaka High School.
She and her husband Jones Williams were married on April 7, 1950 and were married for a total of 54 years.
She was a member of the Caldwell Springs Baptist Church, the WMU of Caldwell Springs Baptist and had taught Sunday school in her church for more than 40 years.
She was a floral designer and was retired as the former co-owner and operator of City Floral Shop.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ella and Vera Buckles; four brothers, Brown, Thomas, Eston and Harry Buckles.
She is survived by her husband, Jones Williams of the VA Nursing Home, Johnson City; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael K and Tonie Berry Williams, of Elizabethton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Garry Holly and Julie and Bill Tetrick, all of Elizabethton, a very special niece, Gail Buckles of Elizabethton; one brother, J.N. ELIZABETHTON - U.G. Buckles, 89, Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018 in the Signature Health Care.

A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Grant Buckles and Eliza Williams Pierce Buckles. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Buckles was a retired Welder; he also loved to farm and work in his garden. He was a member and former deacon of Blue Springs Christian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Shelia Buckles Wilson and several half-brothers & sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years: Pauline Weaver Buckles. A daughter& son-in-law: Sharon & Terry Oliver, Elizabethton. Three Grandchildren: Melanie Reid & husband Everett, Regina Oliver and Jason Wilson & wife Lacey. Two Great Grandchildren: Sophie & Abby. Several nieces, nephews & great nieces & nephews.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Richard Thomason, Minister and Rev. Jerry Stout officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2018 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Jill Kemp, Kathy Thomason & Mark Church. Rosa Williams Stout, age 100, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Hillview Health Center in Elizabethton, Tennessee. She was born in Carter County on August 22, 1922, to the late William M. Williams and Mattie Lyons Williams. Rosa was of the Baptist faith and loved going to church. She loved reading, especially her Bible.  She was a homemaker who loved cooking and gardening. Rosa was preceded in death by her husband, Fred C. Stout; three sons, Darrell Stout, McKinnley F. Stout, and Dayton Stout along with several brothers and sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Shelby Mottern and Charlotte Caudill, both of Elizabethton; one son, Ron Stout of Elizabethton; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A committal and entombment service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 19, 2023, in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Jeff Wilson officiating.

Jasper Williams, age 91, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 25, 2019 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Jasper was born in Elizabethton to the late William and Mattie Lyons Williams.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances White Williams; a daughter, Debra Lancaster; three brothers, Roby Williams, Grady Williams and Albert Williams; and two sisters, Grace Arnold and Goldia Williams.

Jasper was both a United States Navy veteran, where he had served in World War II and a United States Air Force veteran, where he retired as a Technical Sergeant E-6. After retiring from the military he was employed for 19 years as the Elizabethton Finance Director, where he also retired. He was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church, where he had served as a Deacon for over 38 years and also as a Sunday School teacher. Jasper enjoyed his church work, gardening, hunting and fishing and being outdoors.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 31 years, Marvella Williams, of the home; a son, Douglas Williams and wife Beth, of Elizabethton; a sister, Rosa Stout, also of Elizabethton; two grandsons, Jason Lancaster, of Boones Creek and Nathan Lancaster, of Murfreesboro, TN; three great grandsons, Noah Lancaster, Hayden Lancaster and Fletcher Lancaster, all of Murfreesboro; one stepson, Michael Johnson and wife Michelle, of Elizabethton; one step grandson, Randall Johnson, of Elizabethton; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to honor and celebrate the life of Jasper Williams will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 29, 2019 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor Bill Davis, officiating. Music will be provided by Mr. Joey Cole. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel, prior to the service on Friday or at the residence at other times.

The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Military honors will be accorded by the VFW Honor Guard Bristol Post 6975. Active pallbearers will be Randall Johnson, Dallas Williams, Kent Williams, Dale Williams, Don Shepherd, Jerry Ray and Jason Hartley. Honorary pallbearers will be Biltmore Baptist Church Members.

McArthur 'Mac' Williams, age 76, of Stout Branch Rd., Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019 at his home. Mac was born on March 25, 1943 in Elizabethton, TN (Carter County). He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ruth Davis Williams; step-father, John Griffith; brother, Tony Griffith, sisters-in-laws; Hope Payne and Helen Treadway; brothers-in-laws, John Madron and Toll Lewis; mother-in-law and father-in- law, Gail and Earl Madron.

Mac graduated from Hampton High School and East Tennessee State University. He served in the United States Army from July 1967 until August 1973 with the rank of Captain. He was retired from Northeast Correctional as a teacher. Mac also taught in the Carter County and Johnson County school systems. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Mac is survived by his wife of 48 years (September 18, 1970) Hallie Madron Williams; sister, Peggy Ann Elliott of Austin, TX; sister-in-law, Hilda Lewis; many nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service and Burial will be conducted on Wednesday May 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Pastor Mike McNutt officiating. Military Honors to be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard. Honorary Pallbearers are William Earl Lewis, Dustin Elliott, Dr. Jim Shine, Bill Haymore, Don Hassenrich, Jerry Greer, Jeff Buckner, Bud Brown, Shooter Brown and Benny Grindstaff.

Mary Ruth Tester Trivett, 80 of Earle St. Thomson, Ga., entered into rest December 11, 2006 at her residence. She was the beloved wife of Eli Trivett, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Washington Heights Baptist Church with Revs. Sonny Peevy and Brad Ellington officiating. Pallbearers will be Rusty Hannah, Trey Marshall, Troy Josey, Brian Josey, Brian Jenkins, Michael Josey, Hunter Connell, Tony Bentley, Allen Tankersley and Eddie Tankersley. Interment will follow in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Trivett was a native of Hampton, Tennessee but lived most of her life in Thomson, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Ronald Earle Tester and Nan Williams Tester. Mrs. Trivett was retired from Kingsley Mill after 38 years of service. She was also a member of Washington Heights Baptist Church and a member of the Women's Auxiliary of VFW Post # 7778. Survivors include husband, Eli Trivett, Jr., Thomson, Ga.; daughters, Sherry Neal (Tommy), Hilton Head, S.C., Nancy Trivett, Thomson, Ga., Linda Josey (Chason), Waynesboro, Ga.; brother, Jack Arrington, Wrens, Ga.; special friend and caregiver, Ruth Chastain; sisters, Helen Tester, Johnson City, Tenn., Pat Yates (Dick), Clemons, N.C., Margaret Smith, Tampa, Fla. and Shirley Tester, Albany, Ga.; 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
