Linda Pitman, 66, went to her Heavenly home on July 28, 2023 with her husband, Randy, holding her in his arms as she crossed into Heaven.

Linda was born on June 26, 1957 in Avery County to the late Horton and Belva Ollis Holtsclaw. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Anthony Wayne in 1985 and a brother, Lee Holtsclaw in 2014.

She and Randy lived in Avery County for almost 45 years. Linda retired from the Avery County School System in 2021. She loved working around her house and most of all working in her garden and canning her fruits and vegetables. Linda and Randy loved traveling and were able to visit all 48 continental states, which was a dream come true. She made many friends during her lifetime and will always be remembered by the people whose lives she touched.

Left to cherish her memories is her loving husband of what would have been 45 years on August 13, Randy Pitman; sons: Ross (Anna) of Wilmington and Matt (Meredith) of Newland and five grandchildren: Conner, Coleton, Airlie, Cash and Kaia.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, in Minneapolis Methodist Church. Pastor Jock Ollis, Rev. Dana Williams and Rev. Bryan Griffith will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service at the church. A private graveside service will be held in the Minneapolis Cemetery.
