    MRS. MARTHA E. MOREFIELD
    Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Morefield, 81, formerly of Neva, Tennessee, who had been making her home with her son, Connie G. Morefield on West "G" Street Extension, died in a local hospital Thursday at 3 p.m. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Maymead.
    She is survived by two sons, Connie of West "G" Street, Extension, and Ira Morefield of Lundale, West Virginia; two grandchildren, P.F.C. Danny Morefield stationed in Germany and Mrs. Dorothy White of West Virginia; one great-grandchild; four brothers, Joe Dan Stout, Stanley Stout, and Nickolas Stout all of Neva, and Jim Stout of Route 5, Elizabethton; and three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Huskins of Erwin, Mrs. Sallie Walker of Neva, and Mrs. Stacey Slemp of Route 5, Johnson City.
    Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the West Side Church of Christ with James H. Bingham and the Rev. Earl Campbell officiating. Burial will be in the Happy Valley Memorial Cemetery.
    Active pallbearers will be Homer Farthing, George Simerly, Jack and Dave Honeycutt, Sam Hyder, Claude Kidd, Kermit Kerley, and Harry Fine.
    The body will remain in the chapel of the Tetrick Funeral Home until 1:00 p.m. Saturday when it will be taken to the church

    She was born on February 16, 1915, in Neva, Tennessee, daughter of the late William Roby and Sally Stout Walker. In addition to her parents, Adlee was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Robinson; and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

    She was a former employee of Michael's Department Store, where she had worked for almost 40 years. Adlee was very active and enjoyed life to the fullest and had participated in the Senior Citizens Center exercise program for many years. She liked sewing, crocheting, working in her garden and canning, reading, working word and jigsaw puzzles and traveling.

    She was a member of First Baptist Church for 70 years and was an active member in CARE. Adlee was a former Sunday School teacher, where she had taught both children's and adult classes. She was also an active member in both the WMU and Baptist Women's Leader.

    Adlee is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Jane and Ralph Walters, of Elizabethtown, KY, Kay and Wayne Smith, of Kingston, TN, and Charlene and Kyle Kelley, of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren: Scott Davis and wife, Angie, Shawn Smith and wife, Mariah, Kristie Guess, Frances Kelley and Sarah Kelley; great grandchildren: Silas Guess, Anna Guess, Janie Smith, Kaitlyn Davis and William Davis; sister, Leota Rash, of Elizabethton, TN; brother, Hugh Walker, of Neva, TN; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins; her church family; and many special friends.

    The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2011, at First Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Ricky Campbell to officiate.

    Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2011 at Phillippi Cemetery

    James Monroe Timbs, age 73, of 2290 Dug Hill Road in Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away Monday, November 11, 2013, at his home following an extended illness. He was born in Johnson County on January 8, 1940, to the late Ezekiel Amos Timbs and Lessie Ann Stout Timbs. In addition to his parents, his stepmother, Alma Arney Timbs, preceded him in death. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing. He also found a great deal of enjoyment in gardening and tending to a variety of fruit trees. He was also a talented artist. His greatest enjoyment, however, came from the time he spent with his three grandchildren. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where he enjoyed serving as a greeter every Sunday morning. He graduated from Johnson County High School in 1958 and he served four years in the United States Marine Corps from 1960-1964. During this time, he served aboard the U.S.S. Fremont, the U.S.S. Chilton and L.P.H. 8 aircraft carrier. He also spent 22 months stationed in Oahu, Hawaii. Upon returning to Johnson County in 1964, he accepted one of the first open positions at Iron Mountain Stoneware and worked there for many years. He retired from Film Processing Corporation in 1992. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Wanda Sue Cornett Timbs, of the home; two sons: David James Timbs and wife, Anne Peterson Timbs, of Mountain City, and Daniel Alan Timbs and wife, Chassie Brown Timbs, also of Mountain City; three grandchildren: Nathan David Timbs, Sidney Rebekah Timbs and Katelynn "Katie" Gladys Timbs; two brothers and one sister: Joe Timbs and wife, Betty, of Lenoir, North Carolina, Herman Timbs and wife, Betty, of Mountain City, and Lucille Brown and husband, Harvey, also of Mountain City. He is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 3390 Roan Creek Road, Mountain City, from 5-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14. Services will immediately follow visitation with the Rev. Jim Norman and Rev. Scott Plyler officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church choir. Special music will be provided by Donna Fritts and Linda Morefield. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 15, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev.     We are saddened to announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Vaught Stout, age 66, who passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 18, 2021. He was the son of the late Grady Vaught Stout and Ruby Faye McCulloch of Mountain City, TN. He was born on April 1, 1955. He was also preceded in death by his brother: Douglas Stout, and maternal grandparents Roby and Hassie Woodard.

    Bob loved playing music, especially with his Nephew Grady and the Sandy Mountain Boys. He loved riding his Harley’s and he was the owner of Thunder Mountain Motorcross, he loved operating heavy equipment and there was not a single piece of equipment he didn’t excel on. Bob loved playing football and basketball in his younger years and watching it in his later years.

    Bob was the owner of Bob Stout Construction, which he took much pride in, since 1986.

    Dean was a member of Vaught's Gap Baptist Church and regularly attended the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church also. Dean enjoyed working with his backhoe and farming, especially working with his cattle.
    Dean was a current Johnson County Commissioner, a former Circuit Court clerk for eight years and a United States Marine Corps Veteran.
    He was a former member of the Roan Creek Masonic Lodge #679 F&AM in Butler, Tennessee, and a 32nd Degree Mason.
    Survivors include: son, Michael L. and wife, Vicki A. Stout, of Mountain City, Tennessee; two sisters, Nancy Jacobs and husband, Alton, Mountain City, Tennessee, and Linda Arnold and husband, Terry, of Elizabethton, Tennessee; one brother, Tommy Coffey and wife, Linda, of Mountain City, Tennessee; grandchildren, Carli Stanley and husband, Justin, Hampton, Tennessee, and Calli Rae Smith, Mountain City, Tennessee. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    Funeral services for Dean will be conducted on Saturday, November 9, 2013, from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Norman and Rev. Chuck Morefield to officiate. Music will be under the direction of Joe Simcox.
    The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service hour. Pallbearers will be Roby Dunn, Dwayne Arney, Bill Shepperd, Jerry Stanley, Scott Matheson, Joe Stanley, Jerry Grindstaff and Alton Jacobs. Honorary pallbearers will be Commissioners of Johnson County, Bill Wilson, Bill Burcheaus, Freddey Phipps, Jay Mink, Ernest Tester, Bill Michaels, Eddie Forbes and Terry Shull. Military graveside services will be conducted from the Stout Family Cemetery following the funeral, accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard.

    A native of Johnson County, Dean was born on October 9, 1934 to the late C.H. 'Herb'and Lynie Walker. In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Walker Monseur and brothers: Jack Walker, Charles F. Walker and Frederick D. Walker.

    Dean enjoyed Nascar, roller skating, carpentry, history and spending time with his grandchildren. Dean worked with the Johnson County Highway Department for several years until his health declined. He was a member of First Baptist Church and recently had come to know Pastor Steven Spencer and the Calvary Baptist Church fellowship. Dean had served with the Johnson County Rescue Squad and was a United States Air Force Veteran. He will truly be missed by his family and all who knew him.

    Dean is survived by his wife Clara FayeWalker; daughter, Ladeana Glenn of Gastonia, NC; Step-mother, Mattie G. Walker of Mountain City, TN; sisters: Blanche Settlemyre, Mary Hicks, both of Newton, NC, Shirley Michael and husband Bill, and Betty Mink, all of Mountain City, TN; brothers: Robert S. Walker and wife Gladys of Mountain City, TN, Connie Eggers, and John Eggers and wife Glenda, all of Bethel; grandchildren: Lauren Beuttel, Sydney Glenn, and Evan Glenn; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Sue Campbell of Mountain City, TN, several nieces and nephews and his co-workers at the Johnson County Highway Department.

    The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Steven Spencer to officiate.     She was born October 6, 1938 in the Bethel community of Watauga County, a daughter of Melvin and Georgia Walker Millsaps.

    Mrs. Arnold was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was a licensed practical nurse at Blackwelder Hospital in Lenoir for 28 years and returned to Watauga County to work at Glenstone Nursing Home, now Glenbridge Health and Rehabilitation where she worked for 17 years.

    Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Jady Charles Arnold, her mother-in-law, a sister-in-law, two nephews, one niece, three aunts, and one uncle.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Georgia Walker Millsaps. one son, Freddie Charles Arnold two brothers, Charles and Jack MIllsaps and two sisters, Lucille and Juanita Millsaps.

    Services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Bethel Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Dan Rosser and Rev, Burl Greer. The body will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. Burial will follow in the Millsaps Family Cemetery.

She greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her family, attending church, scrapbooking and cooking.

    She is preceded in death by her mother, Kate Walker; Sister, Debbie Brown; Brother, Bill Walker; Father-in-law; Rev. Roy Cooper; Brother-in-law Raymond Sutphin and a niece, Robin Michelle.

    He was a retired over the road driver with Roadway-YRC Freight Lines with a total of 29 years of service.

    While driving for Roadway he received the Presidential Safety Award, the Mile Span Accident Free Award. He was also a Two Million Mile Achiever for Roadway.

    Ronda was a 1955 graduate of Hampton High School and a veteran of the U S Navy. He loved to fish, and travel with his wife Margaret, especially after his retirement.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ellen Fair.

    Those left to cherish his memory include his wife; Margaret A. Dick was a member of the Centerview Church of Christ and was a retired over the road truck driver for Roadway Express with 28 years of service. He was a 1957 graduate of Elizabethton High School. Prior to driving for Roadway Express, he was a dock supervisor for Mason and Dixon Freight Lines and was also a supervisor for the Polyester Plant of North American Rayon. He was a member of Dashiell Masonic Lodge, #238 F and A M, a member of Knoxville Consistory of Scottish Rite and the Jericho Shrine Temple. He was a member of the Elizabethton Shrine Band and the Jesters of Jericho Temple. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Rhonda Fair.
    He is survived by his son Rick Fair of Phoenix, Arizona, his sister, Rebecca Lou Fair Barr of Elizabethton, two grandchildren, Travis Fair and Curtis Fair, four great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Travis Jr., Julian and Iryiana, one niece and three nephews, his best friends Victor and Judy Deloach, a special friend Kathy McGee and numerous cousins.
    A service to honor the life of Richard “Dick” Fair will be conducted at 7:00 PM Tuesday, October 12, 2021, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Mr. Tony Hoss, Minister officiating.     Mr. Ricky Dean Collins, 57, of Johnson City, formerly of Elizabethton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at his residence.
    He was the son of Darlene Stout Collins, of Johnson City, and the late Gary Kyle Collins. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Lillie Stout; and his paternal grandparents, Eston and Maxine Collins.
    Mr. Collins was a graduate of Unaka High School and attended Walters State Community College, where he played baseball. He started a career in law enforcement with the Carter County Sheriff's Department. He continued to work in law enforcement with the Elizabethton Police Dept., the ETSU Campus Police and the Johnson City Police Department, where he retired following thirty plus years of service. During his time at JCPD he worked with the Drug Task Force and the SWAT Team. After he retired, he returned to JCPD and was currently working as a training consultant.
    He was also a former member of the Carter County Rescue Squad. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, A.Q.H.A, A.P.H.A, N.R.H.A. and the Liaison for the Tennessee Reining Horse Association.
    In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of thirty years, Vicki Lee Collins, of the home; a sister, Kay Collins, Johnson City; a niece Seidena Malone and her husband, Josh, Johnson City; two great-nephews, Collin Nidiffer and Kayson Malone, both of Johnson City; a great-niece, Everly Malone, Johnson City; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Helen Lee.
    The service to honor the life of Mr. Collins will be conducted on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Dr. James Richardson and Chaplain Edward Jefferies officiating. Honor Guard will be provided by the Johnson City Police Department.
    The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 4:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday prior to the service and at the home of his mother at other times.
