ELIZABETHTON - Ella Pauline Buckles, age 91 of Elizabethton, Tennessee passed away on Monday, May 30, 2022, at Hillview Nursing Home. Ella was born October 13, 1930, to the late John and Eliza Jane (Williams) Weaver. In addition to her parents, Ella was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, U.G. Buckles; a daughter, Sheila D. Wilson; two brothers, Herman Weaver and James Weaver; two sisters, Nora Hurley and Hallie Hardin; two nephews, Jerry Weaver and Norman D. Weaver; and one niece, Carol Ledford.

Pauline was a hardworking, Christian woman who was deeply devoted to her family. She loved socializing and cooking homemade meals. Pauline was a member of Blue Springs Christian Church of Elizabethton and loved her church and her church family. Pauline enjoyed gardening, canning and sewing.

Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter Sharon Oliver and husband Terry of Elizabethton; her granddaughters Melanie Reid and husband Everett of Elizabethton, Regina Oliver of Ohio; a grandson, Jason Wilson and wife Lacey; her great granddaughters, Sophia Wilson and Abigail Wilson; her nephew, Ted Weaver and wife Janet; a great niece, Melissa Frazier and her family; her special friends, Emma Pierce, Dorothy Wilson and Ruthie Mitchell; her special fur baby, Bodhi; several other family members, friends, nieces, nephews, cousins and church family will miss her very much.

A service to celebrate the life of Ella Pauline Buckles will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Friday, June 3, 2022, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Mr. Richard Thomason, minister, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Friday.

The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Steve Franklin, Charles E. Reid, Ryan Weaver, Tony Wooldridge, Dudley Wilson and Jason Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Start, Willard Loveless and her friends and family of Blue Springs Church.

Floyd William Buckles, 88, of Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at his residence.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Lee and Callie Williams Buckles.
Mr. Buckles was a retired electrician with North American
Rayon Corporation. He served in the United States Army
during World War II. Mr. Buckles was a member and Elder of East Side Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his
wife, Hazel Guinn Buckles, May 2, 1994; a daughter, Rita Buckles; and by three sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Poole and Barbara
Fair and husband, Clifford, all of Elizabethton; a son, Ronnie Buckles, Elizabethton; four grandchildren, Ashley Walsh, Tabitha Price, Donna Mosley and Joey Buckles; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Buckles will be conducted at 8 p.m.
Friday, July 29, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Randle
Johnson and Mr. John H. Smith, ministers, officiating. Music
will be provided by the East Side Christian Church Choir. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, in the Caldwell Springs Cemetery. He was the son of the late Lee and Callie Williams Buckles. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Loretta Bowers, Wanda Bowers, and Lexie Lawson; two brothers, Lee Buckles and Cleveland Buckles; five half-sisters and three half-brothers.

Mr. Buckles was a member of Blue Springs Christian Church and retired from North American Rayon Corporation after 44 years of service.

The funeral service was conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2003 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton.

The graveside service and interment were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, December 8, 2003 in the Pearl Bowers Cemetery.

ELIZABETHTON - Jerry Carl Weaver, 73, Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, July 18,2021 in the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late James G. & Ruby Braswell Weaver. Jerry was a 1965 graduate of Unaka High School and attended East Tennessee State University. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He served as a Deputy in the Carter County Sheriff Department from 1970 to 1978. He served as Carter County Sessions Judge from 1978 until 1990. He was co-owner of Weavers Self Service Hardware. He was a Past Master and lifetime member of Dashiell Masonic Lodge # 238. In earlier years he was involved in the Shriners Organization. Jerry was a member and former choir director of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include his brother & sister-in-law: Ted & Janet Weaver. His companion: Kathy Rhea and her daughter Stephanie Rhea. Two Nephews: Ryan (Abbey) Weaver and Trever (Rebekah) Weaver. Three Great Nieces: Madison (Seth) Gagne, Katlyn (Travis) Boggs and Ruby Claire Weaver. His Aunt: Pauline Buckles. Several cousins.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Bill Duncan officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2021 in the Caldwell Springs Cemetery. Music will be provided by Sue Bowers. Active Pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday will be: Ryan Weaver, Trever Weaver, Jamie Buckles, Randall Buckles, Doug Graham, Wayman Carrier, Dale Cordell and Dean Robinson. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Brandon Rhea, Terry Buckles, Mitchell Buchanan, Tony Oliva and Jim Rantz. Ronnie Buckles, 72, of Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Floyd and Hazel Guinn Buckles.
Ronnie was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. He was an electrician and former member of the Tennessee National Guard. He was a loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time outdoors on his land, studying local history and telling jokes and playing pranks on his family.
Survivors include his children, Donna Mosley and husband Robert and Joey Buckles; grandchildren, Taylor Spurling, Emma Mosley, Aaron Buckles, Justin Buckles and Alex Buckles; his siblings, Kathy Poole and Barbara Fair; and his nieces, Ashley Walsh and Tabitha Fair.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, January 16, at Memorial Funeral Chapel. The graveside service will be conducted at noon Friday, January 17, in the Cochran Cemetery (Fairview Community) with the Rev. Donald Page officiating. Interment will follow the service. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 11:15 a.m. Friday, will be Joey Buckles, Rob Mosley, Aaron Buckles, Justin Buckles, Alex Buckles and Mike Guinn.

James Buckles, age 62, of Elizabethton passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019. He was the son of the late Horace and Roxie Wilson Buckles. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two step-grandchildren Willow Eastridge & Parker Eastridge. James retired from Snap-On Tools after 37 years of employment. He enjoyed racing with his sons (Buckles Drag Racing), spending time with his children and grandchildren, four wheeling, anything to do with Fords, attending swap meets and listening to classic rock.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife; Tena Webb Buckles of the home, two sons; Jason Buckles (Jennifer) and Justin Buckles (Megan) all of Elizabethton. Three grandchildren; Leila Buckles, Abby Shelton and Emorie Buckles all of Elizabethton, one stepdaughter; Jessie Eastridge (Levi) of Bluff City and one special cousin; Joy Ketterman of Elizabethton.

A service to honor the life of James Buckles will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Mr. Richard Thomason and Mr. Coy Webb officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 2019, at Pearl Bowers Cemetery in Elizabethton. Pallbearers will be, Gary Kemp, Noel Church, Mark Church, Lloyd Pierce, Jerry Pierce, Jeremy Pierce, Justin Pierce and Catlin Hill. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jason Wilson and Levi Eastridge.
