The daughter of the late Daniel and Mattie Lewis Bowers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Presley, in 1969, a son, Charles Leroy Presley, and a grandson, Robert Stout.

Mrs. Presley was of the Baptist faith and was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation.

Funeral services for Lena B. Presley, 85, were conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2002 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home.

Graveside services and interment were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2002 at Caldwell Springs Cemetery.

Guy Gentry - JOHNSON CITY
Guy D. Gentry, age 79, 718 University Parkway, died Saturday, February 24, 2007, at the Johnson City Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

He was a native of Johnson Co. and a son of the late Clayton and Rader Gentry.

Mr. Gentry retired from Baxter after thirty years of service. He was a member of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Charles, Ray and Floyd Gentry; and a sister, Eureka Gentry.

Survivors include his wife, Imogene Wilson Gentry, of the home; one son, Guy Gentry Jr., of Gray; three daughters, Carolyn S. Light, of Gray, Linda K. Crowe and husband, Tony, of Johnson City, and Betty Bouton, of Johnson City; two brothers, Terry Lynn Gentry, of Johnson City, and Billie Gene Gentry, of Jonesborough; seven grandchildren, Michael Young, Mark Young, Jason Richardson, Jeremy Crowe, all of Johnson City, Shawn Light, of Rogersville, and Jonathan Gentry and Della Taylor, both of Gray; three step-brothers, Jimmy Gentry, of Jonesborough, Roger Gentry and Jackie Beard, both of Johnson City; one step-sister, Susan Rhodes, of Piney Flats.

The funeral service for Mr. Gentry will be conducted Monday, February 26, 2007, at 8 PM in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Lasley officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM. The graveside committal service will be Tuesday at 11 AM at Monte Vista Memorial Park.

Mr. Billy J. Gentry Sr., age 79, of Johnson City, passed away, Monday, January 30, 2012, in the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mr. Gentry was a native of Elizabethton and had lived most of his life in Johnson City. He was the son of the late Clayton Gentry and Radar Bowers Gentry. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one sister, Eureka Gentry; four brothers, Guy Gentry, Floyd Gentry, Charles Gentry and Ray Gentry; one step brother, B.O. Beard.

Mr. Gentry was a retired construction worker. He was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include: his loving wife of forty years, Linda Gentry, of the home; one son, Billy Gentry Jr. and his wife, Amy, of Jonesborough; one daughter, Kathy Gentry, of Johnson City; three brothers, Terry Gentry, Jimmy Gentry and Roger Gentry, all of Johnson City; one sister, Susie Rhodes, of Johnson City; one step-brother, Jackie Beard; one granddaughter, Jenna Gentry, of Jonesborough; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Mr. Billy J. Gentry Sr. will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday, February 2, 2012, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Reece Harris will officiate.

The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Friday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Gary Orvis, Keilan Livingston, Daniel Ray, Jansen Henley, Joe Herden and Larry Brown. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:15 AM Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.

Emma Jo Bowers, 79, of Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at the Johnson City Medical Center, following a brief illness.
She was the daughter of the late James Monroe and Elizabeth Williams Bowers. She was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Bowers; her brothers, Randy and Erwin Bowers; her son-in-law, Todd Stines; and her niece, Judy Lorena Bowers.
Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Leona Stines, her two sons, Tony and Nathan Bowers, her sisters, Margaret Morris (John) and Diania Hill (Junior); her brothers, Jerry, Eddie and David Bowers, one grandson, Michael Bowers (Melissa), a granddaughter, Brittany Stines-Phillips (Daniel), two great-grandsons, Benjamin and Samuel Bowers, all of Elizabethton; her special aunt, Geraldine Baird, and her special niece, Jenna Lynn, and several other nieces and nephews; and her special pets, Petey, Zoe and Zorro.
She will be greatly missed by all.

Diania Jean Bowers Hill, 71, Hampton, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born March 25, 1950 in Carter County to the late James Monroe and Elizabeth Williams Bowers.
Diania was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Junior Hill; four children, Loretta Hill, John Wayne Hill, Misty Setzer and Jessica Talton; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three brothers, David, Eddie and Randy Bowers; her sisters, Margaret Morris, Flo Bowers and Jo Bowers; and several nieces and nephews.
Her brother, Jerry Bowers, passed away Wednesday night, December 15, 2021.
A graveside service will be conducted at noon Saturday, December 18, in the Ritchie Cemetery (Stoney Creek). Active pallbearers will be John Hill, Jody Hill, Robbie Miller, Chris Talton, James Ritchie, Earnest Setzer Sr., Kilroy Hill and David Hill.

Randy Lee Bowers, 309-1/2 East Cottage Avenue, Elizabethton, passed away February 21, 2019, after a brief illness. He was the son of the late James Monroe and Elizabeth Bowers.
He is survived by sisters, Linda Bowers, Emma Jo Bowers, Diana Hill and Margaret Morris, and his brothers, Jerry, David and Eddie Bowers, all of Elizabethton; several nieces, nephews and cousins; his aunt, Geraldine Baird; and his special little dog friend "Pete."
Randy was a very special and gifted person. He was known as "Red Man" to everyone who knew him. He loved going to concerts and rock music. He especially loved Hank Williams Jr.
We would like to thank his doctor, Kimberly Kleine (who was very special to him), his therapist, Gordon, his home health nurses and his Social Workers. We can't thank these people enough for everything they did for Randy; they made a big difference in his life in just the last few months. Randy will be terribly missed by all of us. Randy chose to give his body to research to help other people.
A private memorial service will be at a later date.
