    Notes:

    Pearle Millsap Madgett, age 93, Elizabethton, died Saturday, March 3, 2007 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. She was a native of Washington County, VA and a daughter of the late John Walter and Lula Ward Millsap. Mrs. Madgett moved to Elizabethton in 1943. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Elizabethton. She was a homemaker and had worked as a licensed LPN.
    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Madgett was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bernard Madgett, Feb. 20, 1985, one son, Bill Madgett and three brothers, Earle, Clyde and Carl Millsap.
    Survivors are three daughters and sons-in-law, Nanette and Dale Harmon, Richmond, VA, Charlene and Steve Williams, Fairfield Glades, TN, Patricia and Wade Carnley, Graham, NC, one son and daughter-in-law, Robert "Bob" and Jean Madgett, Elizabethton, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary Alice Melvin, Bluff City and Ella Grace and James Carlyle, Bristol, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    The funeral service for Mrs. Madgett will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, March 5 in the Tetrick Funeral Home Riverside Chapel with Rev. Brent Seals officiating. Music will be under the direction of John Bunn.
    The graveside service and interment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 6 in Weaver Cemetery, Bristol.

    Patricia (Patti) Madgett Carnley, 70, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, March 31, 2023, in Charlotte, N.C. She was the daughter of the late Charles B. and Pearle Millsap Madgett. She was a native of Elizabethton Tenn., a member of First Baptist Church, a graduate of Elizabethton High School, Class of 1970, and a proud member of the Betsy Band. She attended ETSU and Fayetteville Technical Community College. Patti, along with her husband, Wade, managed several storage warehouses in the North Carolina area. Patti is survived by a son, Eric Whited, daughter-in-law, Donamari D’Andrea of Charlotte, N.C.; two step-grandchildren, Douglas and Kyen; two sisters, Nanette Harmon, Richmond, Va., and Charlene (Suzy) Williams, Fairfield Glade, Tenn.; and a sister-in-law, Jean Madgett, Elizabethton. Also, several nephews, nieces and cousins have been blessed by Patti. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Carnley; Willie Whited (father of her son); two brothers, Bob Madgett and Bill Madgett; and two brothers-in-law, Rev. Dale Harmon and Steve Williams. We would like to thank Patti’s friends at Sage Highland Creek, Charlotte, N.C., The Neuro ICU and Harris Hospice at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center for the loving care during her final week. A graveside service, with Rev. Ray Amos Sr. officiating, will be held at Weaver Cemetery, 132 Peoples Road, Bristol, Tenn., on Saturday, May 6, at 2 p.m. for family and friends of Patti.
