    Louise C. Davis, 81, of Johnson City, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2011, at her residence.

    She was a native of Boone, NC, but had lived in Johnson City most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Niles and Dallas Hamby Green. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, L.T. and Robert Green; and by one sister, Dorothy Crowe.

    Mrs. Davis was a member of the Mt. Calvary Free Will Baptist Church.

    Survivors include; her husband, of 63 years, Howard Davis; two daughters, Carolyn Pickering and her husband, Walter, of Sulphur Springs, and Linda Scalf and her husband, Jerry, of Kingsport; one brother, Homer Green and his wife, Pearl ,of Johnson City; four sisters, Martha Carr and her husband, Tom, of Jonesborough, Patsy Harmon and her husband, Charles, of Knoxville, Jean Green, of Tampa, and Erma Hodge, of Johnson City; three Granddaughters, Sherry Holtsinger and her husband, Kevin, Rebecca Stover and her husband, Mike, and Elizabeth Umatani and her husband, Nozo; Eight Great Grandchildren; a special nephew, Donnie Harris and his wife, Sandy, and several other nieces and nephews. Two caregivers are Renae Norton and Lisa Moore.

    Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Jerry Scalf, Rev. Donnie Harris and Rev. Lyons Smith will officiate.

    Burial services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday from the Cherokee Community Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. on Friday for the cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

    JONESBOROUGH - Martha Katherine Green Carr, 77, of Jonesborough, died Sunday, January 1, 2017 at her home.

    Martha was a native of Sullivan County. She was the daughter of the late Niles and Dallas Hamby Green.

    Martha loved her family and friends. She and Tommy loved to play rook, bowl, and dance. She loved reading her Bible and singing. For the past nine years she loved spending time with her grandson, Jacob Lee, watching him play sports or any activity at home. They spent time drawing, coloring, and playing games.

    Martha was a member of Watauga Flats Church of God.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Tommy Lee Carr; daughter, Cindy Marie Carr; sisters, Louise Davis, Lila Jean Green, Nolie Green, Dorothy Crowe, and Zelda Gorley; and brothers, L.T. Green, Lonnie Green, Boyd Green, and Robert Green.

    Survivors include her daughter, Penny Henry of Jonesborough; son, Ronnie Carr and his wife Stephania of Gray; one very special grandson, Jacob Lee Carr of Gray; two sisters, Patty Harmon and her husband Charles of Knoxville and Erma Hodges of Johnson City; brother, Homer Green and his wife Pearl of Johnson City; and several special nieces and nephews.

    The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice Care for taking care of Martha. They would also like to send thanks to her caregivers: Erma Hodges, Renae Norton, Carolyn Pickering, Lisa Lethcoe, June Hodge, Cortney Adams, and Courtney Ballard.

    The family of Martha Carr will receive friends from 12 pm to 2 pm Saturday, January 7, 2017 in the Morris-Baker Dogwood Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2 pm Saturday under the direction of Rev. Estel Williams. Following the funeral, family and friends will proceed to Carr Family Cemetery for a 3:15 pm committal service. Pallbearers will be: Ronnie Carr, Jacob Carr, Chad Williams, Tim Foster, Richard Adams, Nathan Lethcoe, Robbie McGuire, and Shannon Haney.

    JOHNSON CITY - Mrs. Erma Sue Hodges, 77, of Johnson City, passed away Sunday January 2, 2022 at the Johnson City Medical Center, surrounded by her family.
    Erma was a lifelong resident of Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Niley James Green and Dallas Adeline Hamby Green.
    Erma attended Liberty Fellowship Church.
    She is preceded in death by her late husband of 48 years Billy Junior Hodges (Bill); daughter, Nicole Ann Hodges (Nikki); several brothers and sisters.
    She is survived by son, Michael “Jerome” Hodges; daughters, Cathy Hawkins and Sandy Marie Gardner; five grandchildren, Brandon Hodges, Erica Hawkins, Michael Hodges (Paul), Deveny Hodges, Joshua Hodges; five great-granddaughters; four great grandsons; brother, Homer Green; sister-n-law, Pearl Green; one brother-in-law; several nieces and nephews.
    The family of Erma Sue Hodges will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday, January 5, 2022, in the Tetrick Funeral Services Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 7 PM with Pastor Dan Foster officiating. The graveside service will be conducted at 12 PM Thursday, at Washington County Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
