    Floyd "Bud" Whitehead, 61, 213 Tolley Town Road, Hampton, died Sunday, January 13, 2002, at Johnson City Medical Center.
    Mr. Whitehead was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Earl and Susie Hopson Whitehead. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Whitehead, and two sisters, Dorothy Whitehead and Lillian Estep.
    Mr. Whitehead was retired due to disability from Swords Carpet & Cleaning. He was a member of Fairview Free Will Baptist Church.
    Survivors include his wife, Gracie June Tolley Whitehead; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Tammy Whitehead, Hampton; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Keith Peters, Hampton; four brothers, Paul Blevins, Roan Mountain, Earl Whitehead Jr., Peoria, Ill., Ralph Whitehead, Gray, and Clyde Whitehead, Elizabethton; four sisters, Mary McNeil, Anna Belle Walker, Eleanora Clark and Betty Davis, all of Elizabethton; three grandchildren, Coleen Peters, Dillion Peters and Noah Whitehead, all of Hampton. Several nieces and nephews and many friends also survive.
    Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

    WHITEHEAD -- Funeral services for Floyd "Bud" Whitehead, 61, 213 Tolley Town Road, Hampton, who died Sunday, January 13, 2002, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, at Fairview Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Burnie Jones and the Rev. L.D. Berry officiating. Music will be provided by the Fairview Quartet. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, in the Brownlow Tolley Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Dan Blevins, Bill Chambers, Arnold Hughes, Ted Bennett, Tom Stafford, Kenneth Stevens, Tom Carrier and Doug Blevins. Honorary pallbearers will be the Rev. Dexter Brummitt and the men of Fairview Free Will Baptist Church.
