    Bennick “Ben” W. Fox, 87, 1805 Port Circle Dr., Johnson City, died Friday, March 30, 2012, at the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness.
    Ben was a Johnson City native and a son of the late Lloyd and Gertrude Lilly Fox.
    He was a longtime employee of S.B. White, where he retired as a plumber.
    Ben was a member of Skyline Heights Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the East Tennessee Antique Engine Association.
    Following his retirement, he enjoyed building models of local area Grist Mills and was once featured on WJHL’s Cable Country.
    Ben was a former member of a western style Square Dancing Club.
    He loved camping and feeding the birds.
    In addition to his parents, Ben was preceded in death by an infant son; two brothers, Sherman and Bob Fox; four sisters, Irene Kissinger, Thelma Price, Varden Roller and an infant.
    He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-eight years, Sue Reed Fox; his step-daughter, Cynthia Dison and husband, Larry, whom he thought of and loved as his own daughter and son-in-law, their children, Torey Crane, Parker Dison and Molly Dison, whom he thought of and loved as his own grandchildren; five step-sons and their families; his daughter, Melissa Fox Peters and husband, Charles, their children, Laura and Christopher; one brother, Clarence Fox and companion, Beulah Honeycutt; several nieces, nephews and friends, including special friend, Bill Sells; and Ben’s “girls,” cats Callie, Sandy, Sissy and Jade.
    The family would like to extend a special thanks to Drs. Farrow and Merrifield.
    The graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, April 1, 2012, at 3:00 P.M. in Monte Vista Memorial Park with Rev. Donald L. Page officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the East Tennessee Antique Engine Association, Dr. Jeff Farrow and Dr. Angela Merrifield.

    Varden Fox Roller, of 213 Oviedo Street, Gulf Breeze, Florida died Saturday, November 24, 2007 in the Gulf Breeze Hospital after celebrating her 81st birthday November 9th following a courageous battle with cancer. She was a native of Johnson City, TN, but later was a permanent resident of Florida. She was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Rachel Gertrude Lilly Fox. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Jack P. Roller in March of 1996; three sisters, Bessie Halenia, Irene Fox Kissinger and Thelma Fox Price; two brothers, Sherman Francis Fox and Bobby Vernon Fox. Mrs. Roller was a member of the Gulf Breeze Methodist Church and a charter member of the Myrtle Grove Order of the Eastern Star # 302. She was a 1947 graduate of Science Hill High School where she was a member of the band. She married Jack Roller in the early 1950s and lived in Alabama before making their home in Florida in later years. Mrs. Roller was employed as a telephone operator for Inter Mountain Telephone Company while living in Johnson City, but later retired as a consultant for Gulf Power in Florida. Her hobbies, which she celebrated with a free and loving heart, included raising boxer bulldogs, fishing, playing golf and being a huge fan of the University of Tennessee football. Survivors include: two brothers, Bennick W. Ben Fox and his wife Sue, of Johnson City and Clarence L. Fox and his friend and companion Beulah Honeycutt, of Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews. The graveside service for Varden Fox Roller will be conducted at 11:30 AM Friday, November 30, 2007 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Rev. Donald Page will officiate. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

    JOHNSON CITY - Clarence L. “Nick” Fox, 93, of Johnson City, flew to Jesus on Saturday, April 22, 2023 (Earth Day) in Johnson City, TN. He was born in Johnson City, TN to the late Lloyd and Gertrude Fox. Clarence served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was with the 194th Engineer Combat Battalion, 9th Corps. Clarence was an avid musician and drummer, having played with the Jack Williams Band here in Johnson City and also performing sets with Doc Watson and Johnny Cash. In his spare time, Clarence loved being outdoors, being a nature and animal enthusiast, telling stories, and working with wood. He was considered a master craftsman. In recent years, Clarence raised and trained Homing Pigeons, and had just finished building a larger loft for them. He enjoyed studying American History, Native American culture and history and had an extensive knowledge of Johnson City history. Clarence retired from the Federal Housing Authority.

    Including his parents, Clarence is preceded in death by his wife, Violet M. Fox; his brothers: Bob Fox, Ben Fox, and Sherman Fox; and his sisters: Thelma Price, Irene Kissinger, and Varden Roller.

    Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Twana Fox; nephews: Greg Fox and Steve Fox; nieces: Melissa Peters, Jean Thompson, and Janice Bennett.

    The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Monte Vista Funeral Home.

    Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 2:00pm at Monte Vista Memorial Park in the Garden of the Cross officiated by Pastor Aaron Wymer. Military Honors bestowed by Disabled American Vets Chapter 39, Bristol, TN and Virginia Army National Guard.
