    JOHNSON CITY - Jessie Greene King, age 76, of Johnson City, TN, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at her residence. She was born in Bakersville, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Ford Greene and Belle Whitson Greene. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Bernice Udry; one brother, Bernie Greene; and one nephew, Matthew B. Greene.

    Jessie was a Christian. In previous years she had worked for Penny’s Department Store in Sales. In later years, she worked as a housewife and loved spending time with her family.

    She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Ronnie King; two step daughters, Kim Stanewicz and Danielle Spurling; four step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Nancy Greene; three nieces, Sandra Houser, Sandra Gail Newell, and Julie Johnson; three nephews, Matthew Greene, Jeff Greene, and Ronnie Lowe; and her special dog, Spencer.

    There will be no formal services held.

    The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Gentiva Hospice and Cathy York for all the love and care that was shown.
