Mrs. Virginia Darrell Angel Depew, 93, Hamptonville, N.C., formerly of Elizabethton, joined her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 9, 2022. She was born August 27, 1928 in Carter County, Tenn., to Homer Angel and Ada Roberson Johnson.
Virginia was a member of East Side Freewill Baptist Church. She adored her cats and loved flowers. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and her grandchildren were blessed to have her as their “Meme.”
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Lynne Depew, and a half sister, Helen Smith.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Elaine) Ferguson; grandchildren, Twila (Will) Bryant and April Hutchens; great-grandchildren, Austin (Kaylee) Hutchens, Hunter Butcher and Macie Hutchens (Dakota Casstevens); and a great-great-granddaughter, Abby Hutchens.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Justin Deaton officiating.
