    Mr. Everett Lee Bennett, 86, Jonesborough, passed away at VA Medical Center Friday May 17, 2019.

    Mr. Bennett was a native of Washington County and the son of the late Eckard and Dorothy Miller Bennett. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Dewey Bennett, Bruce Bennett, and Bud Bennett; two sisters Claudine Blalock and Stella Bennett.

    Mr. Bennett was a United States Army Veteran. He was a member of Skyline Heights Baptist Church.

    Mr. Bennett enjoyed hunting and fishing, he loved having people over for his Friday night fish fries. He was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making wine with his brother.

    Mr. Bennett was survived by his wife Peggy Hughes Bennett, two daughters, Debbie Ward and Kimberly Brown; two granddaughters Shannon Ward and Emily Brown two brothers, Donald Bennett and wife Opal, Eckard J Bennett and wife Grace; his favorite friend Bo, and several nieces and nephews.

    Funeral services will be Monday May 20, 2019 7:00 PM at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Pete Tackett and Pastor Richard Long officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM prior to the service.

    Graveside will be Tuesday May 21, 2019 2:30PM at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Debbie Ward, Kim Brown, Shannon Ward BJ McKay, Bobby Ward, and Joseph Harding. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Bennett, Steve Bennett, Rick Mull, Bobby Brown, Johnny Roe, Leroy Bennett, Brad Bailey and Chad Bailey.

    Mr. Bennett was born July 4, 1937, in Johnson City, TN. He was the son of the late Eckard & Dorothy Mae Miller Bennett. He was also preceded in death by his wife Opal Bennett and a son, Donald Eugene Bennett.

    He retired from Eastman Chemical Company.

    Survivors include son, James Alan Bennett, Sr. and wife, Heather; daughters, Tammy Bennett Steffey and Teresa Bennett; grandchildren, James Alan Bennett, Jr., Daniel Lee Bennett, Whitney Cheyenne Douglas, Samantha Lee Campbell, Michael Eugene Williford and Tia Skye Thompson; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 PM, Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday prior to the service.

    Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, December 3, 2021, at Roselawn Memory Gardens.

    Pallbearers will be James Bennett, Sr., James Bennett, Jr., Gabe Douglas, Brison Campbell, Nathan Ledford and Jeff Mays.

    JONESBOROUGH - Mr. Eckard “Junior” Bennett, age 80, Jonesborough, passed away Friday, July 8, 2022, at his residence.

    Mr. Bennett was born November 21, 1941, in Washington County and the son of the late Eckard & Dorothy Miller Bennett. He was also preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

    He was a member of Limestone FreeWill Baptist Church and a retired board member. Eckard loved going to church and hunting and fishing with his grandsons.

    Mr. Bennett retired from Greene Valley Developmental Center.

    Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Grace Arrowood Bennett, Jonesborough; daughter, Sherry Ledford (Dennis), Jonesborough; grandchildren, Nathan Ledford (Tara), Daniel Ledford and Jeremiah Ledford (Christina); great-granddaughters, Maleah, McKenna, Braelyn and one on the way; and several nephews and nieces.

    The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice, especially Ashley, for their wonderful care.

    Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 pm Monday, July 11, 2022, at Limestone Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor David Reece, Pastor Tim Roach and Pastor Dale Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, Monday prior to the service.

    Interment services will be conducted 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Limestone Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

    Pallbearers will be Dennis Ledford, Nathan Ledford, Daniel Ledford, Jeremiah Ledford, Rick Mull and Jimmy Bennett. Honorary pallbearers E.G. Morrow, Jimmy Morrow, and the Limestone Freewill Baptist Church Board.
