    ELIZABETHTON — Margaret Ann Pierce Deloach, 78, Elizabethton passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at her residence.

    A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Spurgeon & Bessie Pierce Collins. Margaret was a graduate of Unaka High School. Prior to her retirement she worked at Pharmaseal & Kennametal. She was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church. Margaret was a Charter Member of the Carter County Car Club and was a member of the East Tennessee Rebel Thunderbird Club. She was an avid Lady Vol Basketball fan and enjoyed the Saturday night cruise in.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dewey & Floyd Collins; a sister, Virginia Collins; and a nephew, Timmy Collins.

    Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Luther Deloach; a daughter, Angelia Deloach; a grandson, Mackenzie Hazelwood, a granddaughter, Makayla Hazelwood; a god-daughter, Veronica Cole; a brother, Jack Collins and wife Glenda; two sisters, Wilma Nave and husband Ronnie and Margie Lewis and husband C.H.; several nieces & nephews.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Saturday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Rusty Verran officiating. Music will be provided by Letha Grindstaff.

    Entombment Service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2016, in the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park with music provided by Freida Winters, Harpist. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:20 p.m. on Sunday, will be: Jeff Fuller, Frederick Williams, Bruce Killian, Rick Winters, Tim Winters, Rick Norris and Randy Norris. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Bob Collins, Kenneth Sheffield, Michael Sheffield, Buddy Norris, Jack Foster, Glen Creasey, members of the Carter County Car Club, members of the East Tennessee Rebel Thunderbird Club and her neighbors.

    The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to her care giver, Patricia Johnson; her best friend for 53 years, Frieda Winters; her special friends: Pauline White, Carolyn Coker, Geneva Norris and the staff of Amedisys Home Health especially Lance & Andy.

    ELIZABETHTON — Virginia Elizabeth Collins, 66, 172, Sunrise Drive, Elizabethton, died Friday, June 24, 2005, at her residence after a lengthy illness.

    A native of Carter County she was the daughter of the late Sprugeon and Bessie Pierce Collins. Ms. Collins worked at Harrison Shoe Store for many years. She was a member of Nidiffer Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Floyd and Dewey Collins; and one sister, Geraldine Collins.

    Survivors include three sisters and brothers-in-law, Margie and Clyde Lewis, Wilma and Ronnie Nave and Margaret Ann and Luther Deloach; One brother and sister-in-law, Billy Jack and Glenda Collins. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

    Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2005, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joey Manis and Rev. Roger Mathes officiating. Graveside and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be: Lee Gay, Bobby Collins, Jeff Hermmann, Teddy Collins Jason Shaw and Roger Shaw. Honorary Pallbearers will be friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral chapel. Family and Friends will assemble at the funeral chapel at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday to go to the cemetery. Friends may call at the residence at any time.

    ELIZABETHTON — Willard G. "Billy" Collins, 85, of Elizabethton, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2011, at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center Hospital following an extended illness.

    He was the son of the late Maynard and Carmie Collins and was born in Carter County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Collins.

    Mr. Collins was a veteran of WWII, having served in the United States Army. He was a former employee of Bemberg, North American Rayon Corporation and was retired from American Water Heater. He was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church. Mr. Collins enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved baseball.

    He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jackie Collins and his wife, Tami, Bobby L. Collins and his wife, Connie; two granddaughters, Jacquelyn Collins, Macy Collins; two great-granddaughters, Logan Collins, Katlyn Becht; a great-grandson, Tyler Dugger; five grandsons, Davey Collins, Dustin Collins and his wife, Lindsey, Brandon Collins, Bryant Collins and Bud Hicks; five sisters, Betty Edwards and her husband, Andy, Novella Heaton, Lola Bowers, Burnie Pierce, all of Elizabethton, Myrtle (Tootsie) Gilliam and her husband, Ken, Harriman, TN; three brothers, Arthur Collins, Luther Collins, Bobby D. Collins, all of Elizabethton; a special friend, Loretta Wilson and her children, Lisa Wilson, Tammy Carpenter, Steven Wilson, all of Elizabethton; other special friends, Brittany, Nikki, Arie and Heather. Seven nieces, four nephews, and the mother of his children, Lucille Ownby, Elizabethton, also survive.

    The funeral service for Mr. Collins will be conducted on Saturday, June 4, 2011, at 7:00 PM in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, Elizabethton, with Rev. Bobby Stout and Dr. William Duncan officiating. Music will be under the direction of the New Liberty Baptist Church Quartet.

    The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday prior to the service and at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Connie Collins, 324 Pine Hill Road, at other times.

    The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Sunday, June 5, 2011, at 2:00 PM in the Pearl Bowers Cemetery.     A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Maynard R. and Carma Williams Collins. Mr. Collins was a retired employee of Mapes Piano String Company after 50 years of service. He was an active member of Hunter United Methodist Church. He was a member of the American Legion and the Unaka Rod & Gun Club. His hobbies were woodworking, gardening and bird watching. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

    Survivors include his wife of fifty six years: Kathryn Nidiffer Collins.     ELIZABETHTON - On Monday, December 23, 2019, Lola Bowers, age 84, of Elizabethton, Tennessee entered home to be with her Lord and Savior.

    Lola was born on March 8, 1935 to the late Maynard and Carma Collins. She spent most of her career working at Citizen's Bank where she met and became friends with many in the community. She was a devoted member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church and loved her church family very much. Lola was married to the late John F. Bowers. They spent their lives together making wonderful memories by traveling the country, camping and taking care of each other.

    Many that knew Lola affectionately called her "Dodo". She was a caring and fun loving sister, aunt and friend. Dodo wanted those around her to love Jesus Christ, be happy and live life to the fullest.

    Lola was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sisters, Burna Pierce, Myrtle Gilliam and Novella Heaton; and her brothers, Earl Collins, Arthur Collins and Willard Collins.

    She is survived by her sister, Betty Edwards; two brothers, Bob Collins and Luther Collins; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sue and Lloyd Lowe and brother-in-law, Ken Gilliam.

    A service to celebrate the life of Lola Bowers will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 28, 2019 in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Reverend Doug Hinshaw, officiating.     She was a daughter of the late Maynard and Carma Williams Collins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Command Sgt. Major Samuel Heaton, Jr. U.S. Army Retired, two sisters, Burnia Pierce and Myrtle Gilliam and three brothers, Authur Collins, Willard "Billy" Collins and Earl R. Collins.

    Novella retired as an aide from Unaka Elementary School. She was a spunky military wife and a wonderful Christian mother and grandmother. She was a member of Nidiffer Chapel Free Will Baptist Church where she sang in the quartet. Novella enjoyed sewing and making quilts and spending time with her family. She was known for treating people well and with respect.

    Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, Maynard and Carma Collins; brothers, Willard, Earl and Arthur Collins; and sister, Bernice Pierce.
    Myrtle is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ken Gilliam; her daughters, Melissa (David) Lane and Jennifer (Jamie) Raymer; and six grandchildren, Dawson and Kailey Lane, Colby, Corey, Mackenzie and Brodie Raymer. Surviving also are her brothers, Bob and Luther Collins, and sisters, Betty (Andy) Edwards, Lola Bowers and Novella Heaton, all of Elizabethton, Tenn. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Marjorie (Jim) Blalock and Carolyn (Jeff) Hamilton, and brother-in-law, Ron (Sue) Gilliam, all of Gate City, Va. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
    Myrtle lived primarily in Elizabethton until 1984 when she relocated to Roane County with her family. Her first job was working for the FBI in Washington, DC. Later she went to work for Great Lakes Research in Elizabethton where she met Ken, the love of her life. While in Roane County she worked for Linda Raby, CPA and finished her career with Daniels, Uselton and Clay, CPA in Kingston. She retired in 2011.
    Myrtle was a member of Young's Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Kingston. The family expresses appreciation for the support of Pastor Rev. Dale Watson and the members of Young's Chapel. The family also gives thanks to Helen Lane for the many hours she sat with Myrtle during her illness and for caring love given by her dear friend, June Wilson. The family also appreciates the support from neighbors and friends for all they have done.
    Finally, the family wishes to acknowledge the nurses and staff with Covenant Hospice for the compassionate care they provided during the last difficult days. Also, the family is appreciative for the care and help furnished by friend and family physician, Dr. Rodney McMillin.

    Mr. Collins was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in World War II. He was a retiree of North American Rayon Corporation following forty-three years of service.

    He loved to garden, hunt and spending time with his family to whom he was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He was a fan of the Lady Vols and the Atlanta Braves.

    He was a member of the Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist Church.

    He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Martha Omega Joines Collins, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Dr. James L. Richardson, Elizabethton; three grandchildren, Donnie Richardson and his wife, Brenna, Chris Richardson and his wife, Shea, Charice Richardson, all of Elizabethton; two great-grandchildren, McKenna Richardson, Stephen Richardson, both of Elizabethton; a great-great granddaughter, Jordon Hillman, Johnson City; three sisters, Thelma Taylor, Lyndal Lowe and Phyllis Davis, all of Elizabethton; a brother and sister-in-law, Mack and June Collins, Elizabethton; a sister-in-law, Darlene Collins, Johnson City; and Tyler Salo, whom he treated like a grandson; one uncle and aunt, Gray and Norma Carriger, Kingsport.     He was a native of Carter County and was the son of the late Eston C. and Maxie Carrier Collins.

    Mr. Collins was retired from the Elizabethton Electric System after 42 years of service, was a lifetime member of the Carter County Rescue Squad, and presently served as the Carter County Coroner.

    He was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church and a former Deacon and Treasurer. Mr. Collins was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Collins.

    He is survived by his wife, Darlene Stout Collins, of the home; a daughter, Kay Collins, Johnson City; a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Vicki Collins, Johnson City; one granddaughter, Seidena Nidiffer, Johnson City; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Thelma Taylor, Lyndal and Charlie Lowe, and Phyllis Davis, all of Elizabethton; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Don and Omega Collins, Mack and June Collins, and Helen Collins, also all of Elizabethton; a special uncle, Gray Carrier, Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews also survive.

    ELIZABETHTON - Maxwell “Mack” Collins, age 85, of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 18, 2021 unexpectedly of Covid Pneumonia at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Mack was born in Elizabethton to the late Eston “Red” Collins and Maxie Carrier Collins. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry Collins, Gary Collins and Donald Collins; one sister, Thelma Collins Taylor; and his father and mother-in-law, Clate and Maggie Oliver.

    Mack retired as a brick mason and was a member of Blue Springs Christian Church. In his earlier years he enjoyed playing baseball and softball. Mack also loved to garden and can, and loved to give vegetables to his family and friends. He also enjoyed hanging out at “The Barn” with the barn gang.

    Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 59 years, June Oliver Collins, of the home; his daughter, April Collins of Telford, TN; two precious sisters, Lyndal Lowe and Phyllis Davis, both of Elizabethton and two “adopted daughters”, Gayle White and Sarah White, both of Telford, TN. A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive, as well as “the barn gang”.

    Lyndal Yvonne Collins Lowe, age 82, 110 Robinson Lane, entered into the presence of God on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was a faithful member of Watauga Valley Freewill Baptist Church her entire life and was blessed to serve as choir director for many years. Her love of music was her gift. She served in many capacities at the church from VBS to Golden Group. She enjoyed singing and leading the choir and was even known to twist a few arms to get the choir filled. She enjoyed canning and caring for her flowers and rose bushes. She loved her family with all her heart and it showed: from Christmas sing-alongs, to birthday parties for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, to organizing showers and directing weddings for family members. She was ever present in the lives of her family and friends and her passing will leave an unfillable void. Lyndal worked at Levi Strauss & Co. for 18 years as a supervisor. She began working for Southeastern Apparel Finishing in 1990 as a quality manager. In 1994 she was honored by Levi Strauss & Co. with the highest award they offer. She was presented the 1994 Daniel E. Koshland award for outstanding contributions to the Levi Strauss & Company “Personal Pair” program.

    Lyndal was born on April 3,1940 to Eston & Maxie Carrier Collins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 47 years, Charles Lowe, brothers Donald Collins, Gary Collins, Jerry Collins, Mack Collins and sister Thelma Collins Taylor, special cousins, Shelby Williams and Joy Dean Babb. Survivors include her loving daughters Donna (Wayne) Davis, Knoxville and Dawn Lowe, Elizabethton, beautiful granddaughters, Hollie (Scott) Arnold and Brooke Meza, Knoxville, grandson-in-law Wilber Meza, Knoxville. Precious great grandchildren Bailey Lauren Arnold, Davis Cole Arnold, Breyden Alexander Meza and Levi Charles Meza, Knoxville, sister Phyllis Davis, special cousin, Diana Blevins, and very special friend, Donald Campbell. Family and friends will meet on Monday, September 12th at 10:45 for an interment service at 11:00 am at Happy Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Watauga Valley Freewill Baptist Church.

    Active pallbearers will be Scott Arnold, Wilber Meza, Donnie Richardson, Robert Calloway, Larry Grindstaff and Raymond (Red) Perry. Honorary pallbearers include Cole Arnold, Breyden Meza, Levi Meza, James Richardson, Sherrill Perry, Noah Rash and her church family.

    A special thank you to her caregivers who she loved dearly: Judy Richardson (niece), Dremma Garland (niece), Renee Rash, Judy Calloway and Karen Berry. Also a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice and Nurse Megan for the excellent care she received.

    RUSSELLVILLE - Lou Ellen Clark, age 71, of Russellville, Tennessee formerly of Elizabethton, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at her residence. Lou Ellen was born July 4, 1950 in Elizabethton to the late Edward Clarence Strickland and Frances Collins Strickland. In addition to her parents, Lou Ellen was also preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Ray Hardin.
    Lou Ellen found love and married Earl Ray Hardin and she was a loving caregiver to Earl Ray. When Earl Ray passed away in August of 1990, Lou Ellen found love again with Larry Dale Clark and they were married on February 15, 1992.
    Lou Ellen graduated from Hampton High School and was a member of Centenary UMC of Morristown. She served as Vice President of Security Federal Savings Bank until her retirement. Lou Ellen served many positions at the churches she attended including Sunday School Teacher, Finance/ Treasurer and United Methodist Woman.
    Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Larry Clark of Russellville, TN; brothers-in-law, Kenny Clark and Mike Clark both of Johnson City, TN; a sister-in-law, Connie Clark Lewis (Donnie) of Maryville, TN; her mother-in-law, Phyllis Hall Clark; Clifford (Kim) Hall of Piney Flats, TN; brother-in-law, Jerry (Pat) Hardin; sister-in-law, Nancy Carr (Dan) Calloway; a sister-in-law, Roberta Campbell (Ed); her nieces and nephews: Kamren Lewis Fort Lee, VA, Seth Clark, Gavin Clark, Katrina Clark all of Johnson City, TN, McKenzie Lewis of Maryville, TN, Clinton (Sara) Hall of Chattanooga, TN, and Kaleigh (Seth) Green of Piney Flats, TN, Danielle (Spencer) Goodwin of Bluff City, TN, Nicholas Hardin of Elizabethton, TN, Kevin Hardin of Atlanta, GA, Ronda (Stephen) Shepler of Royse City, TX; two great great nephews, Cohen Hall and Isaiah Green; her beloved companion, Daisy; a special childhood friend, Shelby Heaton and several cousins also survive.
    A service to celebrate the life of Lou Ellen Clark will be conducted at 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 24, 2021 in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Reverend Ginger Isom, Reverend Mack Turner and Reverend Robert Kariuki officiating. Music will be provided by Billy Anderson (pianist) and Sandy Gass (vocalist). The service will be livestreamed.     Mr. Ricky Dean Collins, 57, of Johnson City, formerly of Elizabethton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at his residence.
    He was the son of Darlene Stout Collins, of Johnson City, and the late Gary Kyle Collins. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Lillie Stout; and his paternal grandparents, Eston and Maxine Collins.
    Mr. Collins was a graduate of Unaka High School and attended Walters State Community College, where he played baseball. He started a career in law enforcement with the Carter County Sheriff's Department. He continued to work in law enforcement with the Elizabethton Police Dept., the ETSU Campus Police and the Johnson City Police Department, where he retired following thirty plus years of service. During his time at JCPD he worked with the Drug Task Force and the SWAT Team. After he retired, he returned to JCPD and was currently working as a training consultant.
    He was also a former member of the Carter County Rescue Squad. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, A.Q.H.A, A.P.H.A, N.R.H.A. and the Liaison for the Tennessee Reining Horse Association.
    In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of thirty years, Vicki Lee Collins, of the home; a sister, Kay Collins, Johnson City; a niece Seidena Malone and her husband, Josh, Johnson City; two great-nephews, Collin Nidiffer and Kayson Malone, both of Johnson City; a great-niece, Everly Malone, Johnson City; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Helen Lee.
    The service to honor the life of Mr. Collins will be conducted on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Dr. James Richardson and Chaplain Edward Jefferies officiating. Honor Guard will be provided by the Johnson City Police Department.
    The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 4:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday prior to the service and at the home of his mother at other times.
    Private disposition will be held at a later time. Honorary pallbearers will be his Brothers and Sisters of the Johnson City Police Dept., Kim Birchfield, Randy Berry, Phil Caddell, Billy Patton and Buzz Martin.
